Never learned as much in such a short time! You're a genius, thank you so much :-) You make me feel so good about putting time and effort into learning Fusion over After Effects
Wow. This is amazing. You didn't just record a tutorial video, you are a genuine *teacher*. Your diction, your vocal control, your timing, down to the breathing... It is great to listen to, and goes to show how intensely important a good spokesman can be to keep the viewers interested in the message.
I wanted to pause in the middle to say something. I ALMOST didn't watch this because I had already seen other videos that explained how to do a basic map with write on in 2D in 5 minutes. I made the mistake of assuming you couldn't really show much more than I had already seen in other videos in a shorter time. I was VERY wrong. Not only was this way more informative in general than the other videos, but I feel like your video opened my mind up to so many possibilities for my videos that I hadn't even considered before. The other videos taught me how to do a basic Google map image with a write on effect for the path, ok cool. But YOUR video taught me that with an open mind and some creative use of nodes and Fusion, I can create anything I set my mind to. I already have a background in 3D working with 3DS Max and Blender, but video editing is still new to me. So I really can't thank you enough for showing us just what's possible. This was a fantastic video, and I subbed before I finished writing this comment!
You have a great "fast" way of showing things without getting too detailed. Not that detailed is bad but for me I get sidetracked and my mind wanders away from the goal of the exercise. Plus we can always pause and replay something that doesn't make sense. I work in dozens of graphic, photographic and production software and now trying to learn Davinci Resolve 16 for the first time. I hate to admit it but it is very overwhelming at times, especially Fusion, but it does help watching a skilled instructor showing a technique as yourself. Thank you for your time to share this with us and I have subscribed to keep current with your future uploads.
You brought my Davinci Resolve knowledge to at least 2 levels Bro! That was an outstanding training. You earned another subscriber. God bless your Channel 👍🏼👏🏼
You could add the "domain of definition" node (and activate it in the viewer to see what's the DoD after each node) and define it around the animation on the 2d space before it goes 3D? Maybe it would increase the rendering (and preview) in your particular situation. Sometimes, the DoD goes WAY outside the frame, but the computer will still try do render everything in it. If you set it to only the part that changes, you can really speed up the flow.
Lots of information here. Im impressed!! I can't say I'll do fusion trick right away. But your video is thoroughly cover everything about Davinci fusion. Thank you!!
Excellent video! We are always trying to create better, clearer maps for our bicycle trips videos in DaVinci Resolve. Certainly this is excellent learning material which will help us a great deal. People like you makes UA-cam really invaluable. Grazie mille! Thanks a lot!
You're more than awesome. If I want to add for instance a text that shows "Home" signifying where I started from, what exact node do I have to copy & paste and where exactly do I merge it so that I don't have to repeat the whole work, you know what I mean, I'd just like to change "Joe's Bar" for Home. Any idea how to go about this or I'll just have to build it from scratch? & if so, please tell me where exactly to merge it. Thanks Jay.
Thank you so much for that tutorial! I have a cartography background and always wondered how to easily create some animated maps / 3D visualisations. So incredibly useful.
Just what I was looking for! Thanks. One question....instead of a circle, how would I get an image of a boat to move along the path? We live on a boat and our path is on the water. I will have an animated file with the actual boat. Can I insert it in to Davinci Resolve in this process?
Ah dude! This is exactly what I wanted and right when I wanted it as I'm just finishing up a hiking video and wanted to show the route we traveled. Cheers :)
Thanks for a superb tutorial. Followed it and made a great animated map for my next video. Nice clear instructions and especially love the watercolour map look.
hello Jay, i am having problems to get the red colour of the line and also to move the line, i am using tge free version of davinci and i wonder if it is affecting my map. thanks

i have no idea why, but hearing your voice just makes feel soothed.
Everyone who says "without further ado" immediately follows it with 20s of further ado. Great video! :)
