Sometimes i feel like unsubscribing to your channel just so i can subscribe back to it again... You're entertaining, refreshing, but still honest, Informative without the clickbaity none-sense. I don't comment too often online but today I really felt like sharing my appreciation of this channel. I hate the feeling of time wasted after watching a video, and so far you did not disappoint. Nowadays, true honesty in the Journalistic/UA-cam (tech) media landscape is in short supply sadly. You definitely should have much more subs. Anyhow, Thank you! Also when it comes to digital detox if you ever have the chance to do so, please consider trying the Light phone 2 in combination with your current smartphone for a change... Just an Idea. Sincerely, God bless.

@@AlexGTech That's right. Only thing i miss in an iPhone is sideloading pirated apps which was simple in android. There are rumors apple will introduce sideloading with ios17. If that's the case i won't need an android as a secondary for using pirated stuffs😂.

I have no regrets at all after switching from Android to iPhone 13 mini.
Nowadays, Android phones are getting more and more gigantic making it uncomfortable to carry as it doesn’t fit perfectly into the pocket making it necessary to have an extra pouch. I find myself uncomfortable to use big phones as my hands are quite small.
My iPhone 13 mini have addressed all these and I’m pretty much impressed and satisfied with it in terms of quality and performance despite being small and it also offers another advantage of being lightweight too.

I switched to iphone last year because I wanted to try something new - and at first, I was really annoyed by the lack of features compared to my 4-year-old android. I then ended up getting a MacBook Pro and an apple watch (because "why not try it when I have an iPhone now"). iPhones are about the convenience, simplicity and style, while androids just have more features and are more open. But in the end, it's just a brick in my pocket I use to open the same apps as before - it was easier to switch than I expected.
But I'm still confused about the ecosystem - everyone keeps talking about it and I guess I just expected it to be something more than it actually is. A lot of it just feels like either solutions to non-existing problems or solutions to the drawbacks to using iOS compared to android 😅 Some of the features are cool though - like automatically filling SMS codes on my computer, but it's a minor thing haha

Totally agree. 23 Ultra is a very nice phone, but all this customization BS is just that, BS. There are too many customization options that the average user will never use or ever need. Customization is the basket Android chose to put all their eggs in. I still struggle with Android backups, authentication apps, smoothness across all apps. iOS just works in all things. The ecosystem works better than anything Android offers. Pick up my iPad, I have access to all my data and apps. Pick up my Macbook, same thing. iOS is polished and does not care about all this customization nonsense. And I for one am grateful for that.

The reason the Apple ecosystem is so sticky is because it's er, uh way better. Samsung doesn't have an ecosystem, they don't do their own OS, they don't do their own SoCs, not their own SiPs, they don't know what an SDK is, no Samsung branded world class store (except for those in Gangnam). That whole ecosystem thing is just one big trick/excuse for Apple to make one buy only their products, not because they are packed with features but because connecting any Apple device to anything that was not produced by Apple is nightmare. Before you know it a) you invested a lot of money b) you made yourself think that nothing outside of that ecosystem is even worth trying. 100% agree. I have recently gotten a Galaxy S23Ultra and iPhone 13 for Apple stuff. It took me about a month to setup and get comfortable with S23Ultra, and I got to see the BIG difference with S23U. Basic things like how I want to charge battery, Samsung has dozens of apps to customize max charge level but Apple doesn’t even let custom charge apps in Apple Store, why? What about tracking, I can turn off GPS instantly but iOS location switch is buried in settings.
Most importantly as an outdoor person, I like seeing my S23U screen in sunlight. iPhone is an indoor phone, I cannot even read some text message on iPhone.
I went back to Samsung when my 3 year old iPad was running significantly less per charge, but my Samsung Tab S4 tablet still performs better and lasts longer than my 3 years old iPad after 5 years.

I stopped doing that and only charge by cable in the car now. I do also have a portable battery pack that can hold about 4-5 complete charges. That comes in really handy if I have forgot to charge and I'm dashing out to work. My Wife has the 12 Mini and there is a noticable difference in the lack of battery power. The 13 seemed to solve that and I still remain very happy with the phone. I am conxidering upgrading to the 15 Pro. I am using Samsung watch Active 2 with iphone. My need, I am okay with 80-90 percent of accuracy of fitness data, my main concern is getting call alert on watch.
And after using apple watch for over a year, watch SE 44 mm; my anxiety for battery is there every time I need to extend beyond my working day around 8 pm [not using for all alerts, only necessary alerts and notifications]. For all practical purpose, it will be around 20 percentage or less.
So I gave trial to watch Active 2 [this is 2 year old model which I purchased with S21 ultra]. And Watch Active 2 gives me happy battery life of 2 and half days with all alerts enabled. And with that, I use my galaxy buds plus / Airpods pro depending on my mood and place. Airpods pro causes me earache after long use and buds plus don't fit well for physical activities.

Really enjoying your videos! I've been with the Apple ecosystem for 15 years as well and am contemplating switching to the Fold 5. However like you, I can't give up my Apple Watch Ultra and am trying to figure out a way to keep using my watch with a "cheaper iPhone". Does this mean that your apple watch is linked to your iPhone mobile number and continues to sync your health data etc to that phone and is completely independent of your main android device? I have also heard of people using their apple watch with an android device however with limited functions. Be interesting to understand how you've set yours up and if you're using all of your apps (for example WhatsApp etc) with your android device which means you won't receive notifications on your watch? In other words, aside from functioning as a watch, does it do anything else with your setup? I'd like to at least continue to use the Health apps (too much history to lose) with mine and maintain my apple subscriptions (e.g. family sharing). Cheers

12:29 interesting. Tastes vary. I find the squared-off iPhones _much_ more comfortable to use (and hold) for long periods. It’s the rounded-edge phones that I really notice the extra weight and awkwardness with larger phones, because I need a much more forceful grip. The squared-off edges make it easy to hold with less effort and less force, IME .

I was suffering with a buggy and awful iPhone 12 since it's release and I made the decision to get a S23 Ultra when it was announced. Well, it has been the best decision I've made so far. I was in the apple ecosystem and had iphones for an entire decade (before that I had androids) and I loved each iPhone I got up until the 12. It constantly had problems and it felt so boring to use. I initially had that apple ecosystem withdrawal when I bit the bullet and switched, but I got over it pretty quick and I don't use my iPhone at all anymore LOL. I will say the galaxy watches Samsung sells are way more functional and fun to use than apple watches. I used an apple watch 1 and 3 and they felt pretty basic and boring, but now I have a Galaxy watch 4 classic and I have no regrets ditching those watches. It's funny to see all the fellow ex-apple users expressing such relief after switching and it is so true!

As a result, I sold everything and got S23 Ultra, Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The phone is the best but now I have lots of problems. I can hear construction work during sleep in my Buds 2 Pro because the ANC is not that good, my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is working terribly with Fitbod app for trainings - it fails syncing sometimes and it won't let me modify weight and reps on the watch itself. I switched from S21 Ultra to Iphone 14 pro. First i was terribly frustrated because even my S21 Ultra with Exynos processor was performing better than my 14 pro. And my frustration was doubled when S23 was launched as Apple was literally destroyed by Samsung. As a current IOS user i think it is un arguable that in every aspect of hardware (camera, GPU, CPU, performance in general) Samsung is much better.
However, i really liked IOS more than Android, and i am not complaining at all about feeling unfree in an ecosystem or poor personalization features, multi tasking etc. Maybe because i am a simple user or for whatever it is. What i noticed is i have always loved Spen and the first months i was really missing it, however, i got used to the situation and now i am thinking that maybe i was using my Spen a lot with my Note phones just because it was there, not because i really needed it. Taking quick notes is really cool with Spen but not a big loss. I never need my phone to take serious meeting notes as i already have my Ipad Mini which is great for taking notes. (I have to confess that Spen is better than Apple Pencil as it makes you feel the real writing experience but Apple pencil is still ok)
Apps in IOS seem better and well optimized. For ex, for any mature user, banking apps are essentials in a phone. The bank app which i use most works better in my IOS than in my Android phone. I love most of the IOS app which are very user friendly and make you feel that they are designed with a special care for the IOS users. Apple Music, Podcasts and some other free app features such as Freeform are great! I realized that what Apple gives to the users a "limited" ecosystem which makes you feel special. It is limited in the sense of you can't customize it as you desire however the content it has is HUGE and joyful. (btw, I don't know why i have liked more the colors and how the things appear on my Apple screen Although Samsung is the screen display manufacturer.)
Additionally although still very lazy, Apple continues improving IOS ecosystem with new features which is an important task as it is the only precious thing that Apple has. IOS is the KPI of Apple as in all other hardware aspects Iphone is just a simple phone.

I'm not in apple ecosystem. But I love using an iPhone because of stability and security. And I'm not dealing with unnecessary apps and programs that you have preinstalled on android. But mostly, iphone is independent from google itself.
That being said, I also hate today's size of the phones. Just too big and heavy. Having a feeling like I'm carrying around a laptop or tablet. Phones should be compact, and thankfully, I think that compact phones are slowly coming back.
13 mini is perfect, but battery life is terribly bad.
And I'm sure there's a way to have a bigger battery or software optimization that will help with it.
Zenfone 9 for example. Not that bigger, from 13 mini, but can triple its battery life.
Was about to order zenfone 9, also perfect phone, but only 2 years of updates made me want to look somewhere else.

Sorry. I’m spoiled with tech that works. My apple devices are work horses and when i pull out an iPhone i need that puppy to work and it does 98% of the time. It’s not slow i get the updates on time every time, my cameras are great battery is still solid(considering it is a 2 year old phone) it runs iOS 16.5 beta with little to no issues at all. And all of my other devices just talk perfectly with each other. Nothing like taking a picture with my iPhone and i go to my iPad and its there in my camera roll as well ready for me to do post work. I’ve been using iPhones since iPhone original and i can honestly say it has been the best user experience I’ve had by far. Android didn’t cut it for me( Samsung left a bad taste in my mouth) and windows just couldn’t do what IOS does.

I really want to see Apple come back and deliver on smartphones (beyond amazing hardware) but I can't help and think that their priorities lie elsewhere now. which is also good. Spotify is running usualy from 4 to 6 hours a day on average on mobile 5G. Today it was at 100% when i went to work and around 80% when i got home.
Tomorrow evening im going to charge it again. So for a phone this small i think the battery is pretty good. I think your used phone just has a bad battery the 97% health is a small indicator of that.
But yeah i only use that thing at work and its the only Apple product that i have. My daily driver is the Asus Zenphone 9. Allso a small phone cause i hate big ones.

Since then I have had a few iPhones. I got a wild hair up my a$$ last year and purchased a Samsung Z Flip 4 for work to replace my iPhone 13 mini. I have to say that I am truly disappointed with this Samsung device as it is a pain to deal with the MS apps required for work. That experience has spoiled any thought of purchasing a Samsung device in the near future.

I have iphone 14 pro max, I was a little disappointed not much difference between my iPhone 2020 se, a little clearer a little faster, but extremely heavy and it feels like you might drop it being top heavy. I had a note 3 back in 2013 loved it and the camera and things you could do with it put the iPhone to shame. That was back when every 2 years you got phone with contract, I just used it on wifi because I liked the apple ecosystem were you could back up iPhone to iTunes. At the time android did not have anything similar. The other turn off was back then I was never able to get another operating system update for the note 3, I understand nowadays android gets several updates. I also have the iwatch, bought that just to see the hype and I think I would feel lost without it. I know there are samsung smart watches. With the cost of high end phones it's hard to jump ship that often. I would be curios what do you think you could get for trade in on iphone 14 pro max 1tb storage next year if you were to move into upcoming s24 ultra.
The entry level iphones did not offer enough to trade better off in my cell phone museum. I would like to see a video how to make the transition from one ecosystem to the other, how to trade in phone for best price, or sell out right. Thought your video was Great had to watch because of iphone 13 mini, I just got one for my 86 yr old mother that had my iphone se 2016. She dropped it and shattered screen so I thought it was time to upgrade. I hate to say it I think I would be more satisfied, I like that size and weight of phone over the iphone 14 pro max, aI thought I would give bigger screen phone a try, it took several months but larger phone growing on me.
