11:14 I saw a lot of people getting concerned how the health bar would get too distracting when it flashes red for a monsters big attack but here we see Rey Dau using the same attack but the Hunter is at full health and bar doesn’t flash, basically confirming it only flashes if a monster is using an attack that would kill you from your current health
We also still don't know, if it does this every time or it is connected to a skill.
It's either that or it means you're in the range of the move and its a premonition that it's a big hitting move that's going to hit you. Either way it's going to be really cool

Ya sometimes it gets annoying to remove. Especially if you have a chance to attack or dodge a monster.
The hunter does it when the monster isn’t around but yeah makes the combat smoother if he does it either way

If you maintain your weapon in sheath for a little time he automatically does so

Honestly, that doesn't sound bad. Like, bring a poison and a raw LS. Start with the poison one, then switch once the poison proccs.

Longsword looks so good but I'll have to restrain myself because it will make the game too easy otherwise. I just replayed World and used it for the first time and I'm so glad I picked up another weapon for my first playtrough.
Yeah and with different elements or one is elementless. Cuz there could be a monster with a switch element mechanic of some sort or just suddenly becomes immune to elemental attacks at certain point in the hunt.
@@guilhermesousa8250 easier isn't always what people want to play. Sometimes you still want to have fun with the weapon you want to play with while still being able to do wacky strats. Is it the most efficient way to do shit in the game? No. Is it fun regardless? Basically, yes.

Another great thing about the new LS moves, the charged up slash where you hold the sword vertical for a few seconds and then do the horizontal slash can probably be used to wake up monsters with big damage or blow up bomb barrels. In World the LS didn't have a strong 1 hit attack to wake up monsters.
Doubt it. It seems to be a gauge raiser, not a spender. Spenders are where the true damage is. But it will be probably better than any other non spender move
If you have a bomb pod, you can pod burst for good wake up damage. Use a spirit slash that doesnt hit monster, then L2 (PS5) for the pod burst on the monster.
The longsword easily drops pods from monsters if you use the clutch claw to wound the monster
I love how theres multiple different ways you can level up your swords meter now instead of the same two we've been doing since world it makes longsword so much more refreshing and can let players be more unqiue in their playstyles

iai slash DOES go up one level when you time it correctly like rise, it also does not go down if you time it incorrectly (I think)

I feel the same, why even use it Focus strike builds meter faster. There has to be more to that skill that people haven't learned yet.

tbf almost every weapon got aim buff or GP buff, GS got 360, LS and SnS got mobility like DB, Swax got GP, and mobile weapon like DB and LBG got even more mobility
