Thank you for this video-- I have shared it with my online Earth Science lab students and they found it very helpful! It's nice and clear and to the point.
Nice. Can you explain how the P-S-& Surf waves manifest in the context of how when a quake begins, it radiates out like skimming a stone on a pond, with arms like spokes on a wheel. Is it my understanding that radial diagram indicates how the quake progresses to different geographies on the globe while the actual wave shape is defined as the P, S, etc.
I have been examining the topography of mountain ranges in Ireland. In light of SEISMIC activity in Cork Harbor which is a Caldera and with bog movement in Co. Donegal I have looked for evidence of both 'dormant' Calderas as well as geological soil composition. Topography also shows lava flow. There is one thing I found in the Galtee Mts. - the lack of fossils - that reveals total devastation of plant and animal life due to MAGMA. I am convinced that all the Mt ranges are volcanic. Considering the uptick in volcanism and seismic activity that accompanies MAGMA flow & intrusion throughout the World - II respectfully request that Dias monitor these regions. JeriGale Cohen Fitzgibbon Shane BTW I am named for Mt. Errigal in Co. Donegal.
Very good explained. But could I use a travel-time-chart for earthquakes in 16 km distance ? Your´s kind of long-range-stuff. But the earthquake center has the exactly datas, so I can´t use anything to calculate myself. I can just hold tight the house with the next rumbling.
Thanks so much for this video! It really helped me understand the P-S wave time graph and where it came from. I thought that that graph was dependent on the seismograph, but now that I know it's not, it clears so much up. The textbook I was using or my science class really failed in explaining any correlation and also lacked any visual representation of the material. Thanks a lot!
You are an amazing teacher and are the reason I'm doing so well in my geology courses. Thank you so much
Really great video explanation, Mr. Sammartano. Thank you for the resources. That was very generous.

Excellent video, simple and straightforward....thanks
Thanks I really needed this explanation.
Wow, I am new to trying to understand seismographs and you have Totally helped me understand it more. Very well teaching, thank you. 😊
Thanks for making such video
Love and respect from India ❤❤
Very useful lecture....thanks
Thanks very enriching knowledge. It couldn't get better. Wowow
really clear and helpful. Thanks!!
Very clear. Thanks!

Very well explained
Good job!
Excelent video. Thanks.
I would like to do this with my students. Do you have a pdf or?
Thanks a lot sir.
Very helpful
One of the best videos ive seen explaining this. Very very clear and very informative. Thank you so much.
What does mean 0.7 0.8 0.9 mean ? Like in a 2.5 which happened here in Little Rock Arkansas around Rodney Parham area
I learned a lot, Thank you so much for sharing this perfect information.

Is the Travel Time chart universal for all quakes?
Thank you this actually worked :)
Thanks alot

Very Informative
Great work 👍
Thanks
Very beautifully explained thank you so much.

Wow i watched so many this was makes alot of sense thank you
Does that chart take into account different rock densities? I assume it is an approximation tool.
thanks man this video was very useful
Thank you sir. This is so helpful you are grt teacher by far.
This is very helpful!
Thank you, sir.
You got it!
i edged to this video
Informative .tq sir
thank you. very very good.. thanks again
Thank you so much
gjer du meg litt bug?
Grate ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Taking natural disasters I can’t tell difference between p and S wave at exact arrival times.
❤
The soda guy? I mean otherwise it was good but soda guy?
it was an example, it's not like the soda guy will step on your seismometer or so..
Hahaha daddy being single
nice nice
