This video had exactly what I needed to understand. I was going around in circles trying to find this. I am glad I didn't have to spend hours to get this understanding.
This is by far the best explanation I have came across. Due to lack of such guidance guys like me avoid pursuing such beautiful concepts like these. Thank you!
we take so much knowledge from you or tutors like you for free. we use this knowledge and enhance our careers and make more money. It is a shame that you dont get anything in return from the community. I hope we all pay forward this knowledge to others....thanks for all your honest efforts
Nice, no-fluff tutorial. Thanks! One request - please make a video about how to learn Hive on a laptop without running Hadoop (though the jar/libs might need to be installed). I know it can be done.
I have a question. When you were pointing the disadvantage of locally embedded metastore, you said hive gets installed in each node. However I thought hive is providing an abstraction over MapReduce or Spark, so the submitted job will go to MapReduce/Spark and they will take care of running the code on various nodes. Kindly explain
Never seen this much detailed info about Hive Architecture. Awesome bro!
