One doubt, at the time of increasing or decreasing the split size to change the mapper count, will how will the mapper will read the data from separate node? Is this called as data shuffling?

from my understanding heartbeat is like continuous monitoring on resource where as acknowledgement is like when you do some thing you should pass on information
