Sorry but Gods song is always a straight bop
Same with the propeller
*Mostly cause its just so dark*
It’s my favorite out of all of songs
Both God’s song and the necklace’s song
omg it issssss
ikr literally that bop was a god tier
My favorite part is imagining Shane recording these in his closet.
Right? He’s so genuinely impressive
@@isabellevasquez7433 I do have to wonder what his neighbors think.
"Honey...why does that guy next door keep yelling about sad trains and volcanoes?"
"I don't know, dear, but last week it was just the word 'dismember' with increasing vibrato, so we should probably stick with the choo-chooing."
@@onbearfeet "Atleast it's not the one about god loving to see the french dancing to death!"
@@razzledazzle8593 "I dunno, honey, that one was kind of a bop."
Haha why in his closet?
The Hatshepsut one tho...... *chef's kiss*
Lets get someone a mummified GOOSE!!!
Everyone is sleeping on goose mummy, she’s got bars
I want it on Spotify fr!!
Hatshepsut's song is super underrated
yes !!
y’all sleeping on the pile of diamonds he goes off but the oar ballad is undefeated
For real though! the oar ballad and the propeller ones are my favorites.
OAR 👏 BALLAD 👏 IS 👏 UNDEFEATED 👏
pile it diamonds with forever be the best
I think the Oar love ballad is my favourite…
HANDS DOWN
Propeller is my favorite
I love that one and the coin one
diamond song most def
That’s a weird way to say “Mount Vesuvius”
Only just realized that the snowman has two differently colored eyeballs because they're not his. Amazing.
The details!! Man!!!! That is what makes The Hotdaga and Puppet History critically acclaimed.
Shane's attention to detail in his puppets is amazing
I NEVER NOTICED THIS
I cant wait for Puppet History to inspire a generation of theatrical history nerds like Horrible History was for our generation
Not sure if this is as child friendly as HH! 😂
@@amy_Greenwell same energy though
@@libbywilliams9969 yep as someone who grew up with hh and still adores all the songs (series 1-5) all the songs from puppet history definitely gives off not family friendly hh vibes
Same way Potter Puppet Pals did?
I wonder what it is about history that makes such good songs and has such an overlap with theatre kids

Ty!!
The god song actually starts at 3:53 but thank you for the rest of them!!!
@@potatosalad57 - Fixed it thanks
the necklace one stills blows me away
JOYCE: "Sing for me baby!"
SNOWMAN: *sings*
JOYCE: *regrets her choices*
I like to think that Ryan is always so annoyed with these songs because he has to hear little bits and pieces of them over and over while Shane writes them XDD
I can’t talk right now, I’m doing hot girl shit:
I really vibe with the backing singer in the spool's song who yells "FUCK THE RICH"
favorite part of the song hands down
Same!!
Ive watched thay song over and kver and I stil cant find when/where this is said-
@@lilygrey854
18:20
omg i thought there was no way he ACTUALLY said that but im so glad it was really in the song
I also want to point out that it’s a real testament to Shane’s musical skill that everyone has different favourite songs! To be able to understand the different genres used here well enough to create so many deeply different and great tunes is impressive
Everyone has their favorite. The Olympic Torch is mine. I love how it starts innocently enough in the beginning before it goes batshit. Then there is the part where it curses out its own existence in the middle of the song, just the best.
same
Its so catchy that I didnt even realize how horrifying the lyrics are
The God one is just perfect 👌
“It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever done!”
Shane is a lyricist fo real
Same
Crack up every time
Is no one gonna mentions Shane's immaculate Randy Newman impression?
I was searching for this comment because I was thinking the same thing. If you didn't know it wasn't Randy Newman, you'd have no idea!! It's crazy good.
The range that Shane has is insane!!! I really hope that eventually all of these songs end up on spotify
They’re all on SoundCloud!!!!

Honestly can puppet history get an Emmy or something
Or a Grammy
“We’re meant to be OAR ARE WE?” Is such a good line it pops into my head every soon often
Choo choo go boohoo is a stroke of genius
I was as surprised as the guest when the God puppet appeared, I was like "what is Shane's depiction of God gonna look like?" And then this alien appears and I literally said in surprise "oh my God- HAHAAHA, oh my *God* indeed"
My favorite one is with the clipped coin. It's just so calming and soothing, I sometimes listen to it in bed to help me fall asleep.
Me too! It's so beautiful
it’s so underrated cause it’s slower
I like that one the most to
It's my favorite too, the whole song gives me lowkey chills but the pale blue sky part is just *chef's kiss*
that one almost made me cry xD
Yall aren't giving enough credit to the oar song, that brought be through a wave of emotions like...
I'm still wondering how he overlapped their singing
@@anneliesedansie5594 I believe he prerecords them
i literally almost cried the first time i heard it 😭
The torch song just HITS DIFFERENT
I KNOWWW
“A POX UPON THE BEING THAT CURSED ME WITH SENTIENCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeee!!” Is very 2020
we all know the songs slap but the EDITING absolutely seamless, the transitions between songs were so smooth
Right
Shane is an Internet-era Jim Henson and no one can tell me otherwise
I love the juxtaposition of the guests always smiling and bopping along and Ryan just staring blankly, dead-eyed👁_👁
Policarpa's spool's song is a STRAIGHT UP BOP omg I wanna listen to it every day
You gotta snitch!!! Snitch on the rich!!!
I insist you try your best to spy on high society!
As discussed, you mustn’t trust that upper crust!
@@JohnDoe-tl4gm
Toss their asses on the menu, cuz it’s time to eat
@@greatvalue_ethelcain INDEPENDENCE. ITS A COMING
I love the songs where Ryan just STARES at the camera, like the propeller song.
Shane never produces a bad song. All of them are a bop.
FACTS
My favorites are between the God song, Hatshepsut's Goose, The Pile of Diamonds, The Olympic Touch and Snitch on the Rich
Hatshepsut's goose slaps yo!!
I love the Christmas goose song
Let's be honest. We were all not prepared for every single one of these bops to *SLAP*
My favourites:
1) the chipped coin
2) the oar song
3) pile of diamonds
(Side note: the coin song is a masterpiece that desperately needs the recognition it deserves fight me)
I emotionally relate to the coin. I get him, just wants to be free.
The coin song is angelic absolutely stunning! Those harmonies 10/10
I don’t know why but I love the snowman one. It’s so horribly disturbing and dark I love it
I love all of them, but the Hatshepsut is my favorite. I did a project in her in elementary school, and the melodies are really cool, and it really just feels spiritual
shane's so good at singing in different voices
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABT THE ONE WITH THE DANCING PLAGUE ??
Best one
Nice that they got grant from collegehumor for the coin song
Actually it's Keith from the try guys.
sis you blind as hell, that’s my boi Grant O’Brien 🙄🙄
*Big Pile of Diamond, We were in love once Ore, and Snitch on the Rich supremacy*
y e s
Y E S
Gay Oars: Weeeee juuuust caaaan’t beee (Oar caaan we)
Me: this is true love
All of them are great, but I think the sewing spool one is the most underrated... so many puns and hidden meanings!!!
Y E S
Look the spool song is my favorite cause the whole message of the song is “eat the rich”
How does Shane write songs so damn easily- like how do you make a song for a boat propeller😭
0:00 - death
1:17 - pile of diamonds
2:32 - propellor
3:53 - God
5:04 - train
7:03 - Vesuvius
9:38 - mummy goose
11:12 - torch
12:58 - coin
14:50 - oars
17:00 - spool
18:43 - snowman
WHY DO THESE LOW-KEY SLAAPPPPPPPP
Shane could and should do an album of full length songs. Like funny ones.
Here’s my list of 3
1. Pile of Diamonds
2. God Song
3. Hatshepsut
Hatshepsut is definitely underrated
Kate is probably my fav guests
The song with Hatshepsut's mummified goose is just so ridiculous and incredibly off putting, and that's the bread and butter of this show.
The propeller is my favorite. Except the sad randy newman coin is my favorite too but its gotta be the oar love song maybe instead
The spool song is under-appreciated and I need people to realize it’s chaotic goodness.
The Best Puppet History Songs, Ranked:
1. You
2. Can't
3. Pick
4. One
5. They're
6. All
7. Really
8. Fantastic
9. Bops
10. Ahaha you really thought I would pick one
I still love Ryan's genuinely confused "Randy Newman?" at the start of the coin song.
Spool is my new bestie for gossip 😊 * whispers * "snitch on the rich" * whispers *
Why am I tearing up at the Randy Newman coin??
The spool song is such a bop
it really is
I would give ANYTHING to hear the in-person version without the music that the guests hear
The Bubonic Plague was my first Puppet History, and still my favorite song.
the melody of the torch is actually giving me Olympics song vibes like it legit could be played on commercials
also shane is a good singer
My favorites:
Hatshepsut
The propeller song
The traveling gay oars
Same with me and the god song
The snowman song and the Vesuvius song have the same energy and that energy is terror
the torch is criminally underrated
2:00
PILE OF DIAMONDS GOT BARS
The range of genres in these songs are crazy. That Big Pile of Diamonds is my all time favorite, but the Oar Gay Love Ballad gets a special mention
Hatshepsut will forever live in my heart cause of her song its such a bop
Spool, Coin, and Oars? They all went off!
Just the amount of voices and ranges Shane can hit is.... It's honestly astounding!
The diamond necklace one. Man, it's straight up catchy.
Ryan is so done in a way that only a best friend can be
🎶Choo choo go boo hoo 🎶😭😂
Its all about the train song, Choo Choo goes Boo Hoo is just to fire for that song not to win
Me, loudly harmonizing with a puppet while cleaning my room: MAKE PEOPLE DIE... bubonicplaguebubonicplaguebubonic
My parents: ...
that oar love song is on a different level
Going from the torch song to the coin one is *so jarring*
I've never seen a single episode of puppet history but I just watched this whole thing and now I definitely have to check this out
The snowman tho 😂 *GA-GA-GA-GA*
Is there Puppet History lore???
Bonely Santa has more reign and respect than God, which is fair, and death??? Seems that they’d be slacking off at a ghostly bar
This person: all of the pupoet history songs!
Puppet History Christmas Special: I'm boutta ruin this mans whole carrer.
I love the coin song it's so sweet man,, and ofc the oar ballad
"This sounds like a Pepsi commercial"
Wha-HOW?!
gods song outsold
I studied Classics in college and took a whole class about Mount Vesuvius so my personal fave is Vesuvius's song just 'cause I laughed so hard when I first saw it! XD Also Hatshepsut is my other fave - such a bop!
Kate's continued delight when the songs start brings me so much joy
The Spools song is stuck in my head 24/7
the olympic torch song is definitely my favorite
The songs are the best part of puppet history
The amount of times I've sadi this is unreal. WATCHER NEEDS A SPOTIFY.
I love how the comments are all people talking about their favorite songs. I’d say my favorites are 1. Big pile of diamonds 2. I didn’t make those people dance 3. The Olympic torch
1. This is EXCELLENT. 2. 19:36 I always forget how jacked Ryan's biceps are, good lord
I'm gonna start using the quote "It's not the worst thing that's been done like Bed Bugs, Pink Eye, Tampa, Florida, and also the rest of Florida-"
These are all so good
Choo boo hoo was suck in my head for days
God's song is my favourite purely because of the line "and also the rest of Florida". It sends me every time.
I know it was a Randy Newman tribute, but the fact that Warren Zevon died before he could sing a cover of the coin's song is a genuine tragedy
i believe in hatshepsut supremacy
The Mt. Vesuvius one is my favorite. I've listened to it like 20 times now. (also the Death puppet is the same one my school used for their performance of Everybody)
the train song is ridiculously underrated
That pile of diamonds first song might be my favorite musical piece Shane has ever produced
The propeller song is criminally underrated it cracks me up eVERY TIME
I cant find these on spotify and it’s upsetting
