I love that Spiderman is such a difficult character to play. In fighting games, I've always favored lower tier characters and finding/practicing tech and making them viable. Spiderman is my favorite Marvel character and this game makes you earn his loyalty

Fame, you been able to do this on controller? I have been able to do the quick plink but the long one doesn’t work. The jump doesn’t cancel the animation cancel for whipping so when I do the sticky he just stands there instead of jumping. Any help would be appreciated

@HexedCorpse I've tried both versions in console and they're pretty consistent for me just a really tight timing. For the second variation of the move I Press L1 and then X in quick succession and then hit L2, R2 damn near at the same time and the move will come out about 95% of the time.

The downwards slam feels delayed but you just hold down the trigger and it works I’m on a elite 2 controller so had to change some keybinds to make it so I didn’t have to move fingers off of the triggers as the input needs to be so quick. Not sure how I’m going to pull it off in game but I guess that just comes with practise and repetition
Short plinking uses a swing but long plink with a sticky only uses your sticky. You still need at least 1 swing and 1 sticky to do it. The key is to cancel to the swing with a sticky before it connects with the wall. Biggest benefit is that it can be done from anywhere and does more damage if you land the sticky.

Its just like ghost dashing. Yes it is more optimal for sure but u are not perfect. Sometimes its better to optimize than to allways go for perfect play
That’s very true, also once people get to high elos like gm they’ll realize that ppl will actually look at you and hit you bc they’re just better than diamonds and u don’t even have time for most of these combos bc u just explode if u dont get out fast enough.
Dont remember the guy who made the video, but using scroll wheel to jump, if you sticky, pull , then double jump (scroll wheel) into the classic m1 animation cancel with uppercut it one shots 250. Way less button mashing. PS you HAVE to make sure your feet hit the ground after the pull and make sure you do the animation cancel right. Its pretty insane and u only need 4 inputs (5 with the double jump)
without the plink thing he is doing you have to wait a very long time for your pull to finish than to land on the ground so your jumps will work.. what he does cancels anims of everything. The mousewheel thing is cool but its useless in middle of combo because jump anim wont play if other anims are not done and when you are not touching ground.

Just a tip for anyone playing on Console/Controller, but I found it easy to do the long plink with Jump set to LB/L1 and Web Shot set to LT/L2 (which is default anyways). After you web swing it’s really easy to cancel that into jump and then cancel into Web shot by rolling your left index finger from LB to LT, then hold RT/R2 for the overhead slam. I’m on an Xbox controller so LB is right next to LT and it’s easy to do one fluid motion; got it after just two tries. Not sure about DualSense, it might be less smooth if L1 and L2 are more segmented and farther apart.
If you use an uppercut instead of a sticky when canceling for a long plinck and hold left click as you uppercut you immediately plink afterwards allowing you to: sticky pull in, long plinck uppercut cancel to immediately kill a 250 hp target, add a sticky afterwards to kill 275 hp
Okay so I was in the range testing for a bit, and turns out there's some sick tech with plinking to make this even better that NO ONE ELSE IS TALKING ABOUT??? You actually don't need to aim at all to get plinks. If you do the long plink input, you get the overhead punch even if your web sling doesn't hit the wall. This removes the need to aim at a wall behind your target. Go test it out yourself, go into the range and look up at the literal sky, then do the long plink input combo and you get your overhead. Now you can actually mix this and do a short plink while looking at the sky as well. If your web doesn't hit anything and you do the short plink input (no sticky), it does 1 punch and then the overhead. You would think this is arguably worse, but HERE'S WHERE IT GETS CRAZY The overhead isn't just happening after the first punch, it's actually ANIMATION CANCELING YOUR SECOND PUNCH. This means that if you keep holding left click AFTER this overhead, the game thinks you just did the second part of the 3 hit combo. Meaning after the overhead you STILL GET THE KICK. This changes your normal 3 hit left click combo from a punch > punch > kick, to a punch > punch+overhead > kick TRY IT YOURSELF I SWEAR

Did some labbing and pulled out a 375 damage combo using the long plink, its the same as the long plink combo but instead of using the slam immediately, as soon as you land the web from the long plink cancel into uppercut, it saves the slam as long as you're in the air so after the uppercut one more web into slam does massive damage. Maybe not as useful against a mobile target, but its practically a guaranteed kill on a immobile squishy and chunks tanks.
14:25 you can do a regular sticky-punch instead of a plink, it will be faster and still do 250ish. however, obviously the combo shown will do a bit more damage which can kill Luna Snow or whatever
Man I practiced this for hours on practice range and got reall good at it. It become second nature. Than I went into the game and I remmebered im still insta killable. Even short plank takes too long to do. Nothing spiderman does is really a combo becasue you are not stun locking the oponent. They just click you once you still instantly die halfway through the combo. Not to mention almost all the healers in the game drop healing on the ground so while im performign the combo they keep falling on to heals.. The combo is stil lso fun to do.. I am just gonna keep playing solo in practice range i think hahaah

The long plink combo is peak but I was having a really hard time aiming the animation cancel sticky. I found out it's because I wasn't letting the whole get over here animation play out. I know it seems really cool when you showcase the oneshot potential on bots but Necros considers all of the plink tech a complete joke because it's hard countered if they simply walk backwards since spidey's punch range is so small. So like it's still good to know I guess but keep in mind you have to hit 4-5 inputs before they simply hold backwards. Not to mention movement abilities, any character with a stun can easily kill you in the time the input takes, one shot characters like punisher or hawkeye... It's sadly very impractical in high rank. PLUS it looks cool in training mode but in a real match every plink uses 1 web swing and you probably already used a few to get to where they were to start the combo so if you used your last one to plink now you just die because the cooldowns are so long and you have 0 movement left. I think it's decent at tank busting, like if a tank is low or better if all their supports already died and you're trying to help your team finish them as fast as possible that's all I'd realistically use it for.
I'm having trouble with the long plink. If I shift too close it pulls me before right click can cancel. I end up doing this weird dash on the ground. Hold to swing is turned on and I'm not holding shift.
idk how to short plink so what i did was bind jump to scroll wheel because it lets you double jump less high, its probably not as effective but its still pretty good and really easy to pull off
by the way trying these in game, its extremely situational for the " plinks ", it honestly doesn't feel worth it wasting a web swing ammo. A lot of the time i wont even have a web swing ammo to use it for a plink. A lot of these moves, double jump, uppercut for mobility, swinging out after symbiote, plink all rely on using cooldowns in places where its probably not best to use them rather than keep them. Its very situational

Is there a reason for the venom one shot combo you’d zip away like that? Doing the 180 into the zip is extra frames for them to be healed and you can always just cancel the symbiote with a swing
To do this on console have to turn hold to swing on, I had tap to swing and it wouldn’t do the animation cancel. Once I turned on hold to swing I was able to do the cancel easily, thank you for this video
there is a way easier, faster and more reliable combo to deal 300 damage than whatever this plink stuff is. honestly these seem a bit obsolete. just right click, pull in, left click and right click (this can be done in quick succession), then uppercut. saves a web, is more or less the same speed (if not faster) and deals 300 damage (a little more than that actually) if you want more damage you can left, right, left click after the uppercut and it will finish with a kick which does much more damage due to the tag.

@@HexedCorpsepress that shit extremely fast, think of it as one whole input. Idk what ur playing on but do swing,jump,melee swing,jumpmelee swing,jump,melee. All as one input, fast as u can.
@@Shinra843 you may find you aren’t aiming high enough. To do a short plink you have to aim slightly higher on the environment around you. Eventually you get lower until you need a long plink to stop the animation happening. Hope that works for you
Surprisingly I think the plinks are one of the few high-skill things that are easier to do on console Edit: well...the inputs are easier, not pulling it off in game...
Ive been struggling with doing these combos on real opponents. It seems like they just drift away after the uppercut and my followups whiff What am i doing wrong?
If your talking about squishies then your doing something wrong with the combo cause they should be dead after the uppercut if your talking about the tank 1 you just gotta fallow them while down smashing also if they get any heals at all then you can't kill and if that happens just get out with your life and reset

the only problem is that you will never have an opurtunity to use these, and even if you do your web sling will probably just be on cooldown from swinging in and out
Im a PS5/Controller player Someone please correct me on this, but I can do the Short Plank just fine, but as far as the Long Plank goes, it won't let me animation cancel to jump out of the webswing. For long plank (aiming lower) I'm hitting webswing+ jump+ tracer+ punch just like it said, but I can't cancel the swing with jump. But short plank(pointed higher): webswing+ jump+ punch works fine. Any reason why it would be this way?
Make sure you’re doing the inputs as quickly as you can. As if the entire sequence was one input. It’ll help if you change your swing from toggle to hold and turn off automatic swing if you haven’t already in settings. Also important to note, when you hit RT at the end of the sequence HOLD IT so the overhead lands. Hope this helps!

The problem with plinking is losing the web. Its verry agressive playstyle. You should talk about it with no cd.

Does anyone have trouble with the long plink when looking at the floor? When I do it looking at the floor it pulls me and messes up my combo, it’s really inconsistent
what about the double jump animation cancel into the overhead uppercut? this way you dont have to use abilities or all these inputs

Is long plank unachievable on a controller?
You can bind a jump input to your scrol weel to do an instant double jump into heavy pucnch upercut

@@HexedCorpsepress that shit extremely fast, think of it as one whole input. Idk what ur playing on but do swing,jump,melee swing,jumpmelee swing,jump,melee. All as one input, fast as u can.
How do you do the short one on controller everytime I try to jump out of swinging it don’t work
@@Shinra843 you may find you aren’t aiming high enough. To do a short plink you have to aim slightly higher on the environment around you. Eventually you get lower until you need a long plink to stop the animation happening. Hope that works for you

Surprisingly I think the plinks are one of the few high-skill things that are easier to do on console

Ive been struggling with doing these combos on real opponents. It seems like they just drift away after the uppercut and my followups whiff

If your talking about squishies then your doing something wrong with the combo cause they should be dead after the uppercut if your talking about the tank 1 you just gotta fallow them while down smashing also if they get any heals at all then you can't kill and if that happens just get out with your life and reset
the short plink is really hard to do now
i don't know why but when i try to do the short plick it's only need long web swing + left click bc of that i can't do the long plick can someone have the same issue or cab help me ?

the only problem is that you will never have an opurtunity to use these, and even if you do your web sling will probably just be on cooldown from swinging in and out

Someone please correct me on this, but I can do the Short Plank just fine, but as far as the Long Plank goes, it won't let me animation cancel to jump out of the webswing.
For long plank (aiming lower) I'm hitting webswing+ jump+ tracer+ punch just like it said, but I can't cancel the swing with jump.
But short plank(pointed higher): webswing+ jump+ punch works fine.
Any reason why it would be this way?
Make sure you’re doing the inputs as quickly as you can. As if the entire sequence was one input. It’ll help if you change your swing from toggle to hold and turn off automatic swing if you haven’t already in settings. Also important to note, when you hit RT at the end of the sequence HOLD IT so the overhead lands. Hope this helps!

looking back it he just did everything better easy way to get the upper cut without extra buttons and a one shot combo thats done in two secs
