I could see people singing and dancing in the beautiful parks and even on the closed up streets every evening. They all looked so happy.
Hello Cindy! I felt the same way when I first arrived in China. I had seen some videos of how developed the cities were, but when I got to Qingdao in 2015 I was like... WOW! And then, what shocked me even more was to find out that even in small cities I could see development everywhere: from high speed train to skyscrapers being built.

I was surprised by the amount of people at parks in the evening after dinner. People all ages comes out to move around, walks, activities, and workout.the group dances surprised me the most!!! I had seen children from like 6 or 7 to 60 70 of age dancing in sync 😮
That is very true! It's interesting because the Chinese people usually have lunch "early" like around 6PM. But then, after that they still enjoy the evening by dancing on the streets, walking at parks, exercising and moving their bodies. I think that it's actually a very healthy habit.

Hey Hgo S! They were all living in Nanchang when I interviewed them. That is where I lived most of the time I spent in China. However, some of them also lived in different cities in China before going to Nanchang. In my first year in China I lived in Qingdao. Thanks for the comment!

you can hardly find a policeman in the street. there are no intimidating rowdy drunk yobs in the night or bar fights etc. you can get on with your business without fear of violence

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Karaoke! XXD the one thing I love about China is the food. on the same block, you can usually find a place to spend $1000 on a meal and right next to it, a place you can spend $3 for a good meal
Thank you for these videos. I am due to move there soon, and my experience with my future employer has been nothing but positive. Even had one of my authenticated documents actually chewed by my dog lol, was expecting I'd have to spend money and so much time on another one, even said I'd order another one, the employer said, don't worry it's fine I sent them the document before it was chewed, and the authentication sticker was legible. In the UK I've had to order other documents so many times for silly things like the slightest of coffee stains, honestly it's been refreshing. In my experience so far there seems a human behind the red tape.
Living, experiencing, discovering, enjoying. China has make it pretty safe to explore around, very convenient through widespread usage of technology, friendly and welcoming people. One of it's shortfall is language, not many people can communicate in English or foreign languages when you travel outside the popular cities.
Western MSM and politicians don't have the guts to admit there are many thing they can learn from China. While China keeps on learning all over the world anything which could benefit the country.

I also expected more of that because that is perhaps the strongest image I had of China before arriving: traditional tea culture, porcelain (China), kung fu, tai chi, etc. However, she did mention that it is possible to find that, and things are still there, just not so much in the big urban centers. 😊
The person who refuses to hug may just be surprised...When I learned to drive a car in Germany, I noticed that in China the traffic and the drivers' behaviors are really big problems, my Chinese aunt, who lives in Germany for 30 years, said, she never drives when she is in China.

I've been working in China for 6 years, and I mean in the west people were never too keen of the Chinese at the best of times and this was first-hand experience, but now what all that has happened, the west sort of view China as their moral enemy who if they do not destroy first, China will be coming for them to oppress them. Whereas even today I do not sense that level of animosity in Chinese towards Americans, despite the trade war and sanctions.

Hi Brennen, that's an interesting question. I think that the whole footage with the interviews would be a bit boring for viewers of the channel. I am planning on making longer interviews with expats abroad and upload them here on the channel. Regarding controversial issues, I guess a lot of the comments I get here are quite controversial to be honest.😁 But there isn't much controversy in the interviews. Thanks for the comment =]

The US reporters and journalists always try to say bad things about China, and they do that by going to a place in China called Xinjiang. Their people are different and poverty happens because they do not go along with the other people who speaks the main dialect, Mandarin..Mandarin people were able to prosper because of this, and the Uighurs in Xinjiang were angry and jealous and so they are talking bad about China. It is only in Xinjiang that have got the strict rules. That's why its so scary there. There are many Americans who had told the true fascinating history about China since 1950s. Read them to know the truth about China, how they treated the Uighurs, etc.

Yeah... a lot of red tape. Just make sure you get help from your employer before and during your stay in China.
