I'm running it with a Macbook Pro 13" Early 2013, Intel HD 4000. It runs quite decent, even with a slightly higher resolution that allows for 16:9. The only issue is when the scenario has any kind of lighting, it makes the frame rate drop considerably. Unfortunately, during races, even on single player, every active gate has a green light on it, so depending on the scenario it can get very slow and barely playable. But I know that I'm asking a bit too much from such an old laptop (However, being able to turn off those lighting effects and just leave the gate markers would be excellent)
Thanks! I was about to give up on drone-flying. Wobbling around like I was drunk and thought I was just rubbish at this. Fixed the settings according to this video and now I'm ripping around (well maybe not ripping, but at least flying with some control ;)
Thank you for this. I have a lower quality computer so I havent used my sim much since I first got it. I will need to try these and probably get better quality. I also tried River 2 as the first scene when I first got the sim..lol
The download section has 2 versions for macbooks, one for intel based, one for M1/M2, both seem to point to the same binary that requires Rosetta. Any clarifications?
About to down load velocidrone today. Hopefully these settings will work. It’s a daily new laptop but it’s not the best in the world. I currently use the drl sim and have to have the graphics settings all the way down and I still can’t run all of the tracks properly. I’m sure my dsl connection has a little to do with it as well but it still hangs up on some tracks. The mgp tracks it runs just fine but on most of the drl tracks are unflyable due to it.
VelociDrone true. I do know that the DRL sim runs way better on my 10 year old hp gaming laptop than it does this 2 year old hp but I killed my WiFi card in my old one. This one tho has a pentium N3710 1.60ghz with 4gb ram and not really sure what graphics card but I’m sure it’s integrated on the mother board.
? I'm asking what affect you'd say the application of the true lens feature has on performance. I guess it wasn't "they", but YOU who added it? I like the effect, seems to take processor power....
yes correct, it does take significant processor power - it is unfortunately unavoidable as we have to do a lot of messing around with cameras and complex shaders in order to reproduce an FPV lens
control system polling can only be set to fast on windows .... on mac it defaults to normal and doesn't appear in the settings because macs generally can't handle fast control polling as they aren't powerful enough.
Hi, thanks for the support video! i have a macbook pro early 2011 with: graphic card intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB, 16gb RAM, processor 2,3 GHz Intel Core i5 and an SSD with plenty of space. Do you think i can try to run it? would i have any chance? i'd love i can try a trial version even for one day

Great video with a lot of useful info. I'm starting with a new setup with a ThinkPad W530 I have 64G ram and the Intel HD along with the nvidia drivers. I set my machine up per all the settings in this video. When I start the program, I can take off and fly about 3-5 seconds. Then the display goes all black and white with lots of vertical lines jumping around. It looks somewhat like a bar code dancing in some areas. At this point it's impossible to fly further. Any ideas what this could be and how to resolve it?

I’m running it on my editing pc which is super high end with a 1080 graphics card and lg ultrawide 2k monitor. Every time I start the sim it shows it just fine for a second or two then goes all fuzzy grey and says the frame rate needs changing?????
First we do not support ultra wide monitors, 16:10 is the highest aspect ratio we support. All of this just sounds like setup issues - suggest you open a ticket for support via the support link on our website as we do not do support via youtube comments.
VelociDrone it’s all good, the problem wasn’t the sim it was my controller, as soon as the sim started it obviously had full throttle in the zero throttle position so it would just shoot straight up and go out of range. Soon as I set it up properly it works just fine 😂 Now just to learn to fly
Dunno why I got so low Fps... All I see is pixels and cant have stable 20fps, why I can run games like half life 2 at 60fps on high setting thats so strange
Half life 2 was released in 2004 - it's not going to be doing anything like the same complexity of graphics nor is it s simulation doing complex aerodynamic calculations. I'm guessing this is a really old pc and that is why you have 20fps - it isn't capable of running it.
HD4000 is our minimum spec, it will run on HD3000 but you have to turn things down so low that I'm not sure it's worth it as you are really pushing the boundaries of what's possible

with laptops it all depends on the GPU - if that's weak then you have to configure accordingly

Great vid! This stuff changes quick, some things are already different. What do you think about the True Lense feature they've added?
I'm not sure asking us this question is very useful - this is the official Velocidrone youtube channel - so we wrote the true lens feature

Thanks.

That happens, if you fly to high and lose the virtuel connection. Maybe I'm a bit late 😅

With a decent mobile card you will fall into low or midrange with a 960m. I would try the midrange configuration video and see what FPS you get
