They're really special watches. Just gave mine to my dad for christmas. It's running very well, even though I haven't had it serviced - I did take it in, but they said it was running great, and it looks great on the time grapher. The microrotor is an amazing movement, but very few watches seem to have them.
2:45 Kalle makes the best two stroke exhaust can rattle noises...😊
Banga dang gang
I am buying this watch from my watchmaker very soon,he texted pictures to me yesterday and when I saw the movement I was excited. He will restore it for me and it will run perfectly. I can’t believe you did a video of it today, how cool is that. Thanks Kalle
Just as a note of caution, beware your thinness expectations being unrealised because of an overly thick acrylic crystal.
A very special movement and still remarkably affordable. I think one of my all time best value watch purchases was a Hamilton Intra-matic with this movement in a solid 14k gold case for under $200. There are still vintage bargains to be had, provided your taste is broader than steel sports watches.
I think your opinions are the best in the world-but I appreciate your modesty!
One of the most gorgeous watches is the Hamilton T-500 from early 60's. Same micro rotor movement and lot of fun working on them.
Love to know the difference between the Hamilton and the Universal Geneve Micro rotor?
beautiful watch, right now I am repairing (amateur) a Dugena with the Buren 1000A
I have a Baume & Mercier Baumatic watch which I picked up off ebay a while ago. It has a beautiful dial and hands, but the star is the stunning 30 jewel micro rotor movement by far. It came without a case , so I intend to make a case with an exhibition back to show off its beauty. Thanks for allowing us to have a glimpse into your watch making/repairing business.
Its likely one of the later generations buren movements
Interesting concept "micro-rotor" and associated design... Thanks Kale for sharing!
My friend literally just showed me one of these that belonged to his dad, I am hoping to get good enough to service it one day.
For me the real free energy is in the automatic/ mechanical movement. The beauty and genius of horology. It is only powerd by spring and tension, charge by motion and body movement❤️❤️❤️
Lovely watch Kalle thanks for sharing. 😁👍
Terrific watch and great video as usual Kalle. Thank you for making these fine videos.
Beautiful watch...Love the Hamiltons...
Beautiful on the inside and outside. I didn’t expect to see a micro-rotor movement in a Hamilton.
The dial is also upscale with multiple finishes and appliqué arabic numerals.
And the lugs - very elegant.
This is quite luxury.
Can anybody remember which video Kalle demonstrated reducing the size of the main barrel holes? It's not hammer time. Not using domed stakes. Pretty sure the video was from last year but there are so many can't remember which one it was now!
Incredibly well designed , modular thinking ! 👌❤️👍
Nice watch! Thanks, Kalle.
I don't think I've seen one of these before. It's a really good looking watch. Is there going to be a video of the disassembly?
I think in collaboration with heuer, buren and baume et mercier!
Very nice watch!
That is a really cool watch😎can I see the lack of support for the barrel would be a problem in the design?
Mine has a grey/silver linen dial and both silver hands.and applied markers
I found that Universal Geneve had to pay Hamilton's patent, to use the micro rotor
I bought one of these today for $1
And it appears to be working.
can you do the dismantle on your next live stream, Kalle?
Own Buren Intra Matic, beautiful movement on 30 jewels
Shh, you're going to raise the prices of these gems if the word gets out. 😉
Hi Kalle.
I see this movement says 'Unadjusted'.
I read somewhere that this was due to import taxes and 'adjusted' movements had more tax so they engraved 'unadjusted' to get a lower import tax.
Is that right and maybe you can explain it better?
That is exactly right, but it has got another reason besides import tax. Unadjusted is an unfinished product, the adjustment is done in Switzerland which adds to the amount of Swiss labour so it can be qualified as Swiss made. Just a naughty administrative trick.
Are all the Thin-o-Matic's automatic, or are some normal manual wind?
How much will a restoration like that cost?
I care !! Bedankt kalle!!! prachtige hamilton micro rotor 😍
Hi Kaal, just wondered, do you supply parts for this caliber? I have the same, Burren 666, and I need the balance and bridge( cock)
So I guess the watch basically Buren branded Hamilton by the looks if the movement??
What is the price range?
Cool..
Nice
