I have a 2012 hyundai tucson limited fwd. It has original engine and transmission, the body is all original, and the interhior is perfect it looks like it just came off the assembly line. The Lexus ES was killing it in sales back then and Hyundai seemed to try really hard with this car. It seems offering a larger car with a bigger and more powerful V6 for less money still wasn't enough. Brand reputation is everything.
Compared to the XG300/350 (Grandeur in the KDM) the Azera was a far better car. Those Hyundai Lambda V-6 with regular port injection, were quite durable, figure the 3.8L is still used now, but it’s GDI, but still an overall reliable V-6.
@@briantorres7339 Yeah I agree with you. I knew a few people that had XG300's and they all suffered from transmission failure, ABS module issues and various other things. Definitely not a reliable car as they aged.
Not all Hyundai engines are bad. There are some that are and you need to research and look out for them. This V6 in the Azera, is in fact a well made and reliable engine. Just as smooth and efficient as Toyota's V6.

Hi Mr Kilmer, I watch your channel a lot. You often reference using “high quality” gas in your vehicle. I use the octane rating I’m supposed to, but what make gas “high quality” or not? Thank you, Sir!
Whoa. Scotty now your saying Hyundai is a good brand. I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 AWD and the quality is better then a Hyundai. The Pentastar V6 is one of the best engines made. After 8 years of ownership I only replaced the battery, brakes, tires, oil changes ( synthetic ) and recently a thermostat after a coolant flush. Still a solid car.
Nissans don't get stolen nearly as much and their engines don't blow up either. Bought mine brand new 2019 and never had a recall. Hasn't missed a beat. Bought a 15 year platinum extended warranty and still waiting to use it 🤷♂️
Scotty once said that all 4 bangers Hyundai vehicles are basically POS cruising around the highways... But V6 cars are a different conversation. That includes the Azera, Sonata, and Veracruz. I have a V6 Sonata SE (the "sport" one) from 2008 with ~164k original miles and other than regular wear and tear with regular maintenance, the engine and gearbox are running solid. STAY AWAY FROM THE 4cyl CARS !!!
That's only certain years on specific models that had issues, just like any other car brand in existence. I've had two different Hyundai cars with different 4cyl engines and they had zero problems.
This is true, when car manufacturers move to other countries they usually don't be as well built, nissan went bad after opening the Sunderland factory in England
put it in D and leave it there? I almost always use engine brake when going downhill where I want to limit my speed, and not wear my brake pads /discs down
As dementia sets in Scotty begins to repeatedly review his wife's Lexus, mistakenly believing he's reviewing different customer cars. Last week his wife accidentally left her car's trunk open and later that day he reviewed her Lexus as a Ford F150 with a camper top. (We love you Scotty.)
Hey skotty! I have an 05 wrx wagon with 213,000 miles on it. Im located in Knoxville Tennessee if you ever want to make a video on an old, high mileage turbo subie!
Scotty's heart is always set on cheap old cars that run well. However newer cars have advanced technologies making it safer in everyway for both the driver and pedestrians.
Toyota has worked with other auto makers, helping those companies along the road. Mazda is the best example, maybe toyota worked wiith hyundai back then and that is the reason why that car is a toyota copy.
@@AndrewFaust-x1e no one else in the US pronounces it that way. Even the commercials etc. Plus, I put the wikipedia pronunciation in my original comment. It starts and sounds with the H.
The problem with these "lexus/toyota copies" is the quality of the parts used... they do not last as long as the parts that toyota uses for their cars... at least the ones that are made in Japan do. Even the OEM parts used by Hyundai/Kia does not compare to even an aftermarket made in japan part, same part same car. Take for example the OEM tie rod end of a 2006 Hyundai Getz... two of these cost half as much as a single Sankei 555 Hyundai Getz tie rod end.... I know because I asked once from a local store near me.
For the most part, Hyundai's are reliable vs Kia (even though they're the same company) But ever since they broke off Genesis as a brand on its own, it's kinda a shot in the dark what vehicles will be reliable vs a rolling pile of garbage 😂
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you... prevent inflation
I knew there would be an exception. And hey… that looks a lot like the old Toyota 3.0 V6 they put in Camry and Avalon back in the late 90s. I mean a lot. Is it?
Happy Veteran’s Day!

@Denise-lw4jz when nissan opened it's UK factory they produced a good car called a bluebird, after that they started making unreliable cars
put it in D and leave it there? I almost always use engine brake when going downhill where I want to limit my speed, and not wear my brake pads /discs down
What year is it?
Hyundai rhymes with Sunday!!!!
I have first azera SE 2006. Drives good
Did hell just freeze over?
Hilarious!!! Evidently, it did !!!
My wife's 9 year old Lexus runs great. But then again it only has 32k miles.
Wow that's still like a brand new vehicle.
Do you ever let her out? Sounds like a mileage diet to me. Oh I know. She gets to sit in luxury.
Why would someone sell a car for $2k with only 80,000 miles?
Scottish happy 😂 with the car, is obvious
Hey skotty! I have an 05 wrx wagon with 213,000 miles on it. Im located in Knoxville Tennessee if you ever want to make a video on an old, high mileage turbo subie!
The Azera replaces the XG350 .
Scotty's heart is always set on cheap old cars that run well. However newer cars have advanced technologies making it safer in everyway for both the driver and pedestrians.
Is a 2015 Azera worth it???
nope that beauty cover is needed dumb to throw it away
I love the Hyundai's but it still can't beat a Lexus/Toyota.
Toyota has worked with other auto makers, helping those companies along the road. Mazda is the best example, maybe toyota worked wiith hyundai back then and that is the reason why that car is a toyota copy.
I wonder who scotty though Hyundai is competing with 😂
My mom had a 96 corolla with 249k with minor repairs only. This year we got her a lexus .
Ah yes, Scotty finally sees the light lol.
Just like the legendary Lexus LS 400 copied the Mercedes w126 and the Lexus LS 430 copied the Mercedes W140
scotty: wikipedia says "yundai" is pronounced Hyeondae. there is an H on it. like as in Harry. Hilda. Henry. Hungry.
Scotty thinks it's YUN-DIE.
It's pronounced Y-UN-DAY. The "H" is silent. The company came forward and said that's how the car's name is supposed to be said.
@@AndrewFaust-x1e no one else in the US pronounces it that way. Even the commercials etc. Plus, I put the wikipedia pronunciation in my original comment. It starts and sounds with the H.
@@mikel2887 Yeah right say it like Hunday. That simple.
Why doesn't anyone tell this guy how to pronounce Hyundai the right way?
Because he can only pronounce vehicle brands that are, for the most part, reliable 😂
Did I miss something? What year is this Hyundai?
2008
If I hear Scotty say my wife’s Lexus one more time 😂 jkjk
Looks like those were the 98-05 models
For the most part, Hyundai's are reliable vs Kia (even though they're the same company)
But ever since they broke off Genesis as a brand on its own, it's kinda a shot in the dark what vehicles will be reliable vs a rolling pile of garbage 😂
This is almost exact copy of the sonata!
It's a Sonata on steroids!
No car in the world can be better than Lexus
You should have seen him when he was younger, talk about a hellion.
Scotty "Just like my wife's Lexus" Kilmer
Hyundai burns oil like crazy. Please be careful
The Chrysler 300 copied a Bentley. Just saying.
yikes. there's a scary thought.
Scotty, please stop with liking the yundai's
If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to make your money work for you... prevent inflation
Never thought ANYONE on the planet would compare a Hyundai to a Lexus. I think Scotty has lost it. Sad.
"This one is naturally aspirated, just like my wife's..."
I would never get that no matter the price. I love Toyota/Lexus way too much
I won't buy another Kia et al vehicle .... too many elecrical and engine problems , also getting parts are a 6 month waiting process .... FORGET IT
I bet this is why Koreans upped their game, too. Kia wanna's are going south 😂
I’m thinking the Hyundai Azera is the exception to the rule, since millions of Hyundai automobiles had to be recalled for bad engines
The excel lol
toyota had the same problem recently
It must be a precursor to Genesis, I think Genesis started right after this Azera.
What type of car does his wife drive. It seemed to elude me. 😂
What year is this vehicle Scotty?
Is he saying Hyundai?
HYUNDAI AZERA ‼️
Hyundai employed many Toyota/Lexus Engineers. They offered them 25% more money, however most of them were very sorry they to left Toyota.
You can't prove it in court!
Toyota is the best. Period
I knew there would be an exception. And hey… that looks a lot like the old Toyota 3.0 V6 they put in Camry and Avalon back in the late 90s. I mean a lot. Is it?
Hyundai copied that technology, the V6 Lexus and Toyota is about the same.
@ Wonder if they had to pay for licensing to produce those?
Even newer Huyndai can be stolen with just screw driver.
Yeah same with Kia (owned by Hyundai too) they have a huge issue with theft which makes those cars unrealistic for America.
ya i drove one to kiddo back in 06 the azera was kinda cool!! buy it.
That looks like Scotty's wife's Lexus.
Why do you exaggerate?
Hey Scotty since when did you moved to Massachusetts I remember you living down Texas ?
He's runnin' from the law.
WE WANT HIM BACK IN TEXAS!🥰
