I loved these suckers as a child. Very dimly remember them hanging from the racks when I was small. A friend of the family had 80s kids and they left a binfull, plus five of the vehicles and some Mini-Zs. I would borrow them every couple of weeks or so and play for hours. Eventually had to give that up of course, but you can bet that when I stumbled across a bag of them at thrift late last year, they were MINE. The quality of plastic and paint is so much better than most toys you run across today- and you *won't* find it at that pricepoint unless you go indy. They were also one of the few toys of the day to not ruin the novelty of gimmicks. The simple designs made gimmicks a perfect expansion on the line.
Zbots were, hands down, my favorite toy growing up. Figures, vehicles, playsets...Micro Machines had me hook, line, and sinker
I definitely remember these guys from my childhood. I still have all of mine including some BK figures. It's too bad more people don't remember these

I absolutely loved these. I have very vivid memories of playing with them in first grade. They had really cool military, cyborg-ey and ninja/samurai themed bots that I collected (had the plane guy). Collected the military themed micro machines, as well.
Damn I miss 90's toys. POGs were the shit, too

Still got mine! This was my favorite toyline next to TMNT figures. My brother and I would mix, Z-Bots, Battle Beasts, Trash Bag Bunch, and Snailiens all together, and have epic scale battles. Good times.
i remember playing with these. a bunch of us had them around my block and we traded and spent hours outside playing with them. great memories with these toys, there was even lager ones and mini ones and vehicles as well. They sort of had an edge on transformers and gi joes because they don't really have metal on them, so there was never any rust when we played with them in the water, mud snow or bathtub (whatever). now my son plays with the zbots and my micro machines as well. cant help but think that the older toys were just made with higher quality then they are now.
I lucked out, a bunch of the Zbots were at a store called Pic-N-Save where I lived. They were selling them for $1 per blister, and they were just too neat for me to not be interested in. That Jawbreaker one reminded me so much of something you would see in a vintage Sonic the Hedgehog game. I had been huge into Monster in my Pocket, and it did scratch that itch for me. EDIT: I looked into it further, apparently I had gotten some from Burger King as well.
Loved Z-Bots as a kid...all my friends and I would collect and trade them. I still have a handful of them, a few with feet broken off, but still mostly in good condition. Also still have some M.U.S.C.L.E . figures and Monster in My Pocket too 😎 Being a kid in the 90's was awesome
I remember getting new ones every week at CVS after grocery shopping. Had a ton from those first series and the giant blue robot dude that shot rockets. There has to be a few leftover at my grandmothers house.

I loved these guys! They had wars all over my grandparents cabin furniture. Started trading them with my friends in 4th grade
I had a massive container of these guys as a kid, including most of the vehicles (the giant one with tank treads and those oh-so-loseable missiles was my favorite) and the HQ playset, so most of the ones shown are familiar (and fondly remembered). They were everywhere for a while--I got a few at 7-11 of all places--with lots of unique and creative designs to choose from. It's a shame they didn't stick around longer.
I LOVED Z Bots !! They were amazing , and came with a huge robot who had a rocket in his arm !!! So many of them , my kids had !!!
90s is full of crazy ideas about how robot, heroes, villians look like. They have horror elements but cool.
These were quite literally my favorite set of toys i had. Im working on collecting all of them atm, but that will never happen i think lol
I loved these as a kid. Asked for them every holiday and birthday for a few years. My favorites were "Malfactor" and "Paragon"
Never had any of these; but it's funny you mention Trash Bag Bunch. I recently remembered them and saw a Pixel Dan video were he "unboxed" a few. I've been thinking about going down that rabbit hole now.
Loved them!! I was too young and helping my father I could only get a set every month! Really miss them. I don't know if they are still at my parents house!... men this video was a punch full of nostalgia

I loved these bots! They were the perfect size to pair with my Battle Beasts! Sadly, I sold most of them a year or so ago. I might have a couple left...

i had a bunch of these that are in this video , bazooka was my favorite , i still have memories being on my great grandparents porch playing with them along with my tmnt , transformers, exo squad , i could go on , life was good then

Dude! I had a ton of Z-Bots as a kid! I even had the little mini ones that had the space ship playset! I'd always get them either at TRU or at K. B. Toys!
Those mini ones were easy to lose

I always wanted the "Mother of the Zbots" set but I had to make a tough choice between it or Optimus Prime. I chose the later.
I always thought with glyos would be an awesome fit to revive Zbots
I think of Zbots once in a while. I have a big nostalgia list I made and have been wanting to do something with it. From Zbots I remember the little guy whose head looks like a skull or eyeball, and then he has two scythes for arms and little legs. And then the dark blue metallic Void guy with stabby fingers.
Love these! Still have them and my kids love them too! I've always included them with my Lego Space sets since the average Zbot isn't much bigger than a Lego minifigure.

Bugeye is the name of the BK z-bot you showed. I had many of these and still have many of them. Such a great childhood..
The ones you mention are "little less detailed" are the Mini-Zs. They were even smaller, not articulated extra little toys that were sometimes given away in 3-packs as an extra.
I had a ton of these. My favorite was the white guy with hammers for hands. I wanna say he was called 'hitman' but maybe thats just what I called him. Had a bunch of monsters in my pocket too.
I had a ton of these as a child and they've now been passed down to my kids.

Was born in 89 I remember these. Does anyone remember the mighty max toys? The little hand held playsets. That's what these remind me of too. I believe they had some for X-Men as well

i miss these! that tricycle may have been one of the “transforming” ones. the one at 12:40 is part of the linkbots line as well if i’m not mistaken

These and the Incredible Crash Dummies were my favorite childhood toys. For the Z-Bots I had the giant megabot and a few of the other large vehicles. They were awesome.
Holy shit I had Ram Jammer as a kid and most of the other characters in the pile. Crazy nostalgia trip.

i like this video i didn’t have any as a kid but i felt the same way about battle beasts and the monster in my pocket guys i still have a big ziplock of em. i always sided on the monster mythic side of toys than robotic but these guys are pretty cool 😎
That's what happened to me back in 1993 when I was in kindergarten I had dozens of these I love them had them for a few years and now I don't know what happened to them.. and today out of no where I remembered but I couldn't remember what they were called so it took me a while to find them and it led me do these videos. I kind of want to see if I could get my hands on these again but they're not cheap anymore.
7:50 I just got this in my recommended feed today and funnily enough I've had a row of zbots on my shelf looking at me for the past two years, AND I'm looking right at the one you're missing for that set. It's a little cockpit guy that clamps onto the back of the caterpillar treads guy, who I'm missing.
8:15 is a dead ringer for the classic 70's Japanese super robot Raideen.

Yes the first combiner I owned, the second dude you showed I had...and yeah, uncared for; with floppy apendiges easy to break. Incomplete/ lost parts due to playing outside is a thing. Min 9:26 is my dude...his head snapped off I have him and body parts separated and secure...I'd love a complete undamaged one.10:40 burger King! Nice collection

I have noticed some prints are different. My Zoo from the Ba-Zoo-Ka linkbots set does not have "Gunner" printed on him.
