This lesson also describes the impact of the AEC on the radiographic procedure as well as identifies alternate names for the AEC. This lesson also explains why different exposure times would be used for different patients, explains the importance of selecting the right AEC cells, explains the importance of positioning the patient correctly over the AEC cells, and briefly explains the importance of lead shielding placement when using the AEC. Thanks for the clear explanation, one clarification point is that AEC does not use a timer it uses just a comparison circuit for typical operation.
On the x ray table, there are no markings for the AEC Cells. How do I know where they are positioned?
