Amazing how long it takes to get water on the fire
I thought the same at first. But after watching further, looks like they wrote the truck off as a loss and focused on interior work to save the structure.
@@lyedica Yeah, that's good until the brakes release and then the flaming truck roll down the drive into your ladder truck....
@@ffjsb agree here. Should have probably stopped short.
Do you have to tinkle?
Amazing how many armchair wannabes who have never worked a fire in their life blow their holes about a subject they know nothing about.
Look at all the fire officers on scene and yet no fire trucks. It amazes me that every officer has to go direct instead of making sure a truck gets out.
Come on man, it’s way more important they touch themselves at the fire than actually do something constructive.
Why haven't they put the truck fire out yet ?, I see hoses all around but I don't see any water streams , I take everything back I said they did put the truck fire out .
That's the first thing I thought as well. This is why they should be full time paid FD's. Clown show for sure.
That could be a job for you...from the comfort of your BarcaLounger.
What a bunch of armchair firefighting clowns with zero personal experience on an actual fireground. Yeah let's worry about the truck that's already a total loss. Why bother going interior and stopping the fire from spreading throughout the structure first since you would rather see "streams" from the exterior on the truck. The most important line is the first attack line to the interior of the structure. The second even third due can handle the truck. 🤦♂️ Thanks for the laugh. Keep up the great work from your keyboards and saving those foundations if you believe the first dues focus was the vehicle fire. Just because you have 40 years experience in Swampbutt Alabama population 75 does not make you an experienced firefighter.
Glad they were able to get that attic fire stopped before it spread further. As far as the truck goes well like Spicoli says "Relax, all right?
My old man is a television repairman. He's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!" 👍
The FD did a good job preventing fire spread into the living space of the home
@@demonracer2 yup, indeed they did.👍
Awesome coverage and pictures...🤗🤗
Thanks a ton
@@demonracer2 always watching... Happy Valentine's Day. I don't have one so your it...😁
Fords aluminum trucks sure do burn easily.
Easier to recycle 😅
way too long to get water on it....
How long does it take to get water on the fire ? Unless I’m not seeing it from the camera angle it takes way too long to get a line on it. 30 seconds after the parking brake engages and there should be water on the fire. That’s our standard.
Water was on the fire in just about 30 seconds, we like to put fire out from the inside out so the house doesn’t burn down
Sure it is. 🙄
Oh gee look yet another YouToob pretend firefighter
You will find the first line was stretched into the structure, check for extension and halt the spread. Not much point hitting the truck when it is gone already and you have the potential to save the structure. 2nd or 3rd due can deal with the truck.
@@aussiefiery
Spot on 👍
And that is exactly what this crew did
Aluminum truck body? The aluminum just melted of that truck. If the body was steel it wouldn't be missing the roof.😂 i think that was the explosions molten aluminum hitting water.
Poor guy lost his house because of his freaking truck. Sorry to see this
Thankfully the living space was saved thanks to the fire companies
Why did they let the truck continue to burn, for so long? I don't care if its diesel or gas. Once that plastic tank melts and that fuel catches fire it'll roll down the drive to the street and possibly the fire trucks
It was diesel, and the fire really wasn’t impinging on the area of the tank. That said, I also wondered why with plenty of manpower and apparatus, especially with guys standing around while the truck flamed, nobody seemed to interested in extinguishing it.
Just a guess but they may have considered the truck to be a total loss when they got there and figured best thing to save the house and protect exposures. Besides it's a Ford
Such a sense of urgency....shameful
Lets see...fire trucks lined up down the street, firefighters standing around waiting for someone to bring the marshmallows, and nobody working a hose after 8+ minutes! Whats wrong with this picture?
Nice video though...show it to city council at their next meeting!
Not being there or knowing the situation, what took so long to get water on the fire in the structure?
It didn’t take long at all seat of the fire was located within 2 minutes and companies had to open up to knock the attic.
Sincere thank you to all of the first responders who prevented any greater loss of property here. Awesome coverage from your channel as always. Not a firefighter myself although my son is F/T & volunteer FF/EMT so you could say I am drawn to it. And seeing the level of training and education these people go through they are nothing short of professionals. Granted, some departments may not be as well run as others. Still gotta love the armchair quarterbacks who can point out all the deficiencies from just a
Thank you very much! Quick aggressive work on this scene limited the amount of damage and undoubtedly saved this house
Damn, Someone torched the guys truck?
What are they waiting for? 6 or more trucks parked nearby, not a single line on the fire
Not sure if we watched the same video but the line was on the fire shortly after the first two units arrived
@@demonracer2 Delete his comment.
Don’t treat this guy as a troll, it’s a legit question. The street was filled flashing emergency vehicles with no action until the big truck arrived, and that seemed to be the first of them to put water on anything.
usa firefitersb a wast of time akid with a bucket of water whould have done a better job that many fire crewes and you could not save that building ime glad i dont live in the us come to the uk and see how to really do it ive seen when youve turned up to a fire and a little bit of smoke was coming out of the building by the time you got your water going the building was almost gone

Rip Ford Truck 🛻 😢😮
I guess with the truck it is, "We will get to it when we get to it." I don't understand venting the garage when the fire is out and the garage door is open to ventilate.
curious was that an ev truck?
No
They don't make 1 ton EV's as far as I know.
That was a late model F-450 Platinum. Beautiful truck before it burned!
Another abysmal response time from the Jersey Shores volunteers.. and maybe next time wait till the entire house burns down before getting some water on the fire.
Another snarky comment form a sofa warrior fake FF.

2:00 Great work from the Firefighters 😊 but what really bother me, why do this truck don't have a steel frame for the passenger cabin ??
Nope all aluminum, strong as steel, 700 pounds lighter on the F150s. So it will all melt around 3000-3500°.
Why call the fire department because it's going to burn down anyway they have all them men and they don't do anything
Oh goody I'm first to say it!
"Why didn't they use the deck gun?"
😆😅😂🤣
lol! It amazes me how so many don’t realize that there is a reason why it’s not used more! 😂🙄
On the truck?
The deck gun could have pushed the truck right into the garage/house with the amount of pressure it has in it.

What was exploding from the inside of the truck's cab?
Glass
airbags' propellant?
The big explosions were the airbags, the smaller pop sounds are the tempered glass shattering.
Quality Ford product there ! Not only leaves you without transportation but also leaves you homeless ! Gotta love Ford 🤢🤮
Yeah, never have seen that happen with a Ram or GM…..or anything Japanese….or electric….
In European countries, their firefighters would immediately use water in the onboard tanks to fight the fire while the main hose is being connected to the hydrant. American firefighters just stand around and twiddle their thumbs until water is available, meanwhile the fire continues to burn. This is the striking difference between European and American firefighters.
🙄
We have tankers here in Canada. I’m always amazed how slow American firefighters are…
Europeans have toy apparatus and tiny roads and tiny houses.
Well except for the fact that they used tank water while a supply line was hand-jacked to the hydrant.
But thanks for proving that you have no clue what you are babbling about
I notice that myself ! The russians are especially fast at getting the water going !
🙏🏻❤️💙❤️🙏🏻
Looks like those new Fords are just burning up the neighborhood! Im sure it's not just fords but sure is a shame that a truck that costs almost as much as your house catches fire and you loose your truck and home! Automakers need to do a better job!
Yes this is definitely an unfortunate double misfortune for the homeowners
Could be and aftermarket alarm, lights or tow accessories wired incorrectly.
@@erikturner8687 I suppose it could be but pretty much any newer vehicle today has some type of anti theft/ alarm built into it. As far as after market lighting or towing accessories ( as far as a hd truck goes) they to have built in up fitter switches and factory installed trailer brake controls. All of those circuits should be protected by circuit breaker and or fuses. It clearly looks like the fire starts in the engine compartment so could be many things. It's just a shame that you have to worry about your vehicle starting on fire for no apparent reason. I would not be surprised some day soon when your home owners insurance ups your insurance if you park your vehicle in a garage or you own an electric vehicle. Who knows maybe they already do?
Any number of things could have started that truck fire that may have had nothing to do with the truck itself. Rodents chewing wiring, aftermarket accessories, cigarette left burning in the interior, who knows.
People don't realize, but a garden hose would have prevented the fire jumping to the garage. The vinyl might have melted but that would have been about it.
Not too sure about the garden hose stopping the fire from extending to the garage. Radiant heat would have taken care of that. One interesting point is, if you have a fire threatening your structure/home/etc., use the hose to cool the closest point of the untouched structure to the fire. Cool it down.
It's winter, garden hose rolled up and put away.
Um, what? So you are saying that 5/8” of an inch garden water hose, that maybe has 10psi, and maybe delivers 10 gallons a minute, would have extinguished the truck on fire? You do realize, that the initial call was for a truck fire, WITH Extension To The House, right?
@@RetLtFF43 NOBODY said it would put the truck fire out. The OP said it would've protect the exposure. Learn to read. They are correct, and you being a firefighter should know that.
@@ffjsb So you agree, that deploying a garden hose in the Winter, which most people have off, would have been a useful tool? Not sure of your experience, but with the truck involved as much as it is, and whereas the fire was reported around 4:15am today, I’m not seeing where a garden hose would have been a safe utilization tool, especially for the occupants of the home.
By the time they put water on it will be nothing left
There was nothing left of the truck before the tones dropped. Their concern is saving what they can of the structure.
Brand New Ford Truck Up In Flames
that was a chevy
This was a Ford
@@tl5943that was a joke right?!
That truck could be as old as 7 years.
That is why I am switching to electric cars because cars have titanium and magnesium that can explode and explode when the fire department can’t put it out
What do Ford pickups and the wicked witch of the west have in common..... Im melting!!
What happened to the roof on that Ford ? Aren't they steel anymore !
No, Fords are aluminum now.
Aluminum on the 150's not sure on the SD's
All fords are all aluminum….
Its so thin nowadays that it just vaporizes.
The F150 went to aluminum cabs and beds in 2015; the Super Duty did the same in 2017. Both still have steel frames and everything else beneath the cab and beds. The melting point of aluminum is much lower than steel, and a significant fire like this will definitely melt it after a period of time. But obviously everyone needs to get out of a burning vehicle regardless of what it’s made of, so it really doesn’t matter. The aluminum is just as safe in a crash, and doesn’t rust from road salt like steel bodies do.
Ford, Ford, they're the best! Burnt my house and made a mess!
Nice job there, saved the house, and some nice kit too.
Well said
SUPER DUTYS HAVE TWO MAJOR THINGS THAT CAN CAUSE FIRES THAT ARE DESIGN FLAWS. ONE IS THE BRITTLE FUEL FILTER FITTING THAT CAN LEAK AND SPRAY FUEL ALL OVER THE HOT ENGINE AND THE SECOND IS THE LIVE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE THAT GOES COMPLETELY UNDER THE ENGINE AND ALSO GOES TO THE TRANSMISSION.
So basically the manufacturer is totally guilty 😔, that's more frightening than owning a electric vehicle.
Thank you for this information, i know early superdutys but i have heard of the oil filter problem in later years, now i heard about this battery cable under and to transmission. you dont know what years specificaly do ya, anyways thanks for great info.
It’s a diesel truck. If the small fuel filter in the engine compartment broke while the engine was running, the engine would die very quickly thereafter. Also, pouring a stream of diesel on to a hot engine is not enough to auto ignite the fuel. Furthermore, the fuel filter on these Ford 6.7 trucks which is under the hood is mounted near the edge of the engine, but these engines have an interior valley exhaust manifold. The fuel never would get near the manifold. And it sure looked to me like the truck was parked and off at the time of the fire, so the electric lift pump wouldn’t be running anyway. These trucks are as safe as any.
Basically, none of what he said is true and diesel vehicles are as safe as it gets when it comes to vehicle fires.
Surprised all the brakes didn’t fail and that truck didn’t roll down the driveway which looked like it had a little incline to it.
Yup. We have disposable wheel chocks just for that purpose.
The transmission would hold it.
Transmission parking pawl would stop it from moving, and so would the parking brake if it was applied.
@@tylermacconnell217 Pawls can fail, and parking brake cables are easily damaged in a fire. Better safe than sorry.
nice job saving the house.

@@demonracer2 good
It's weird how that Ford dualie's roof burned away. Must not be made of sheet metal.
The cab and bed are made of aluminum which has a lower melting point than steel. I’m surprised it remained intact as long as it did with the intensity of the fire.
I was wondering if I was there I could have called in the helicopter 🚁 with the water bag just in case if the house use gas propane tank to avoid any damage to the firefighter and other people around the area 🤔 but it's only my opinion .
That is a very unlikely and impractical scenario
@@demonracer2 it can save life and protect each other!

America, you need to pay for QUALITY fire service. For fuck sake, put your hands in your pockets.
And it isn't an EV. Gee
Clearly…see how easily they extinguished the fire? EV would require thousands of gallons and perhaps days of monitoring. This big truck needed probably less than 150 gallons and a few minutes to put out.
