your absolutly correct you cant see the outsidebut it was sure nice to walk up to it!on the inside i guess that i didnt need a whole lot of room just ment that you had that much more area to clean up but the bunk was nice and it had plenty of power when i had get down the road and well all i can say about the fuel mileage is that it sure ate it up!!!5-mpg was if i was going down hill!!
theprice of fuel over here is far more than in canada/usa i just filled up my jeep which is a mitsubushi shogun 3.2td its tank holds 100 ltrs at £1.42 per ltr just cost me £142 or $210 which will last roughly 7 days
6:07 the white one was actually a Western Star 4900. and 8:30, that was an oil rig derrick. Thanks for sharing this video. I guess you can draw three things from Alberta trucking: everyone has a bullbar, everyone hauls a flatbed or lowboy, and everyone drives a pickup truck. Keep up the good work.
I think it's cheaper to live in Canada than in Scotland. I may be mistaken but I once met a girl from UK who moved to Canada and she said one of the reasons she crossed the pond was because of very high consumer prices in UK.
Glad you liked it. I might come back one day. Loads from US to AB do pay well, even though one might have to deadhead 500 mi or so to the re-load. The Whitecourt AB hotel where I was staying was excellent.
white court is an oilfield hub thats why theres so much specialized equipment. There is a network of bush roads in the area and the trucks need to be heavy haul to go in and out. Pretty neat video... Of the sights in Whitecourt.
Nice video. The crane/tower thing you're talking about is the derrick for a drilling rig. They have big, powerful trucks because there is a lot of hills, off road, and rough driving ahead going west and north.
1.42 Euro per L.. Wow.. According to ALBERTAGASPRICES(DOT)COM, the cheapest gas in Edmonton AB now is Cnd$1.00 per L. According to ONTARIOGASPRICES(DOT)COM the cheapest gas in Toronto, ON goes for Cnd$1.17. Change the first word to any province to see how much gas sells for in other Canadian cities.
That's what I figured about the MPG... 5. If you do 8,500 miles a month, the difference between a 5 MPG truck and 6.5 MPG truck is ... $1,600 per month at $4/gal.
Aerodynamics? The rig is made of tubing. Air flows through it. Saturday? The oil field works 24 / 7....you can't get into remote areas in warm weather, so they work everyday.
well, i had a 2011 Ford F-150 myself but had to sell it after 1 year. I didn't really need all the power and the 15 L per 100 km average mileage was killing me. Gas prices in Ontario ARE much higher than in Alberta; probably on average 20 cents per liter. Now I drive a Mazda 3 and it does 7 L per 100 km. I can drive 120 or 130 km/h and I don't think about fuel mileage any more ...
The reason why we run Kenworth's and Pete's(Pacar) is because they're the toughest. Between the oilfield and logging industries they get beat on hard! Nothing is comparable. Your right, no one here cares about aerodynamics. It's just more shit to rip off the truck in the mud and bush. The Kenworth C500 and T800 is the most common trucks. We think the new 880's and 990's and the Pacar engines are garbage. We delete every motor and get as much power as possible. Time is money here
what did you like about it? And I'm not talking about the looks: when you drive you don't see what's outside, right? How bad is the fuel mileage with that huge square nose? With my modest International I get 6.5 MPG (US) pulling a 40,000 lb load at 58-59 MPH.
ccth22 it's hard to say. everybody has an opinion. some people claim Peterbilt and Kenworth are the best. I never drove them. I only have experience with 1999 Volvo, 2005 Freightliner, 2004 International, and now 2015 Mack. The Mack was a bit sluggish at first, but after it broke in, it started pulling hard (it has 1860 torque engine). I like it.

great video sergie. im a trucker myself living and working in scotland. my truck is a scania R480 good truck but a little over rated personally i would prefer a volvo fh 600. far superior truck in my opinion. i have been trying to talk my girlfreind into moving to canada for 2 years nowso i can further my career as a trucker. any advice you could give on trucking in canada would be appreciated
+Boycott PC you pay around 40% income tax in Canada... On average the US is 28% so figure it costs 12% of your annual income.. I have a health insurance policy in the US and I don't pay 12% of my annual income for it!!!! Maybe 3-4%

The dry van you see at 3:14 has the sign THE BRICK on the side. That's furniture and appliances, not food. It's a big chain in Canada.

Yup, that was me in the little grey pumper lol
I think it's cheaper to live in Canada than in Scotland. I may be mistaken but I once met a girl from UK who moved to Canada and she said one of the reasons she crossed the pond was because of very high consumer prices in UK.
The blue Kenworth leaving the hotel looked like a Carlisle truck the company featured on Ice Road Truckers.
Glad you liked it. I might come back one day. Loads from US to AB do pay well, even though one might have to deadhead 500 mi or so to the re-load. The Whitecourt AB hotel where I was staying was excellent.

Nice video. The crane/tower thing you're talking about is the derrick for a drilling rig. They have big, powerful trucks because there is a lot of hills, off road, and rough driving ahead going west and north.
I delivered 12'4" wide wall sections for a metal water tank to Beaverlodge, AB.

The OD load I brought from USA to this frozen tundra paid 5 bucks per mile (gross). I work hard, I play hard (sometimes) ;)
Been to that gas station accross the road many times. not bad food. and plenty of room for truck parking. even able to park my turnpike double there.
Aerodynamics?
The rig is made of tubing. Air flows through it.
Saturday? The oil field works 24 / 7....you can't get into remote areas in warm weather, so they work everyday.
I think it means 'badboy train' ;) Or maybe the B comes from the word BRIDGE which is the connection between the two trailers.
I think they actually call those "scissor necks" "folding neck" because of the folding action :D
Cozy days.

Move here to Alberta then. Ontario is a joke, wait until we cut off the prosperity cheques. Prices there will go up even more.
Me too.
must be an old video because the gas station across the street is not winks anymore, it was macs after that and now its circle K

very good video! thanks
KW and pete is the only way to haul heavy.

That was a awesome vid. Cool trucks. No place to drive all chit roads but the road going in and out of town. Cruising around without a 4x4 sucks
Hey Sergie! Why is a B-train called a B-train? Just wondering.
That first b-train was a Frightliner.
best fucking video ever
That hotel is now called the Days Inn, don't know if you visited before or after the new owner.
Welcome to the oil fields ;)
The mostly pickup truck because whitecourt is an oil field town
You must be making too much money (lol!) getting a room like that. Great vid, what a view better than tv.
Really interesting!
Sergei do you have any info into the top three semi trucks in terms of reliability and durability?

you have to drive what makes you money! thats the bottom line as for me I used to love my pete!

how good is the Canadian health care? How much a month is premium
+BOYCOTT PC
$0.00
Our taxes pay for it. And I would never change it.
