Eric, you are so good at soloing. I am like you, I really get off on new tones and sounds. Appreciate what you are doing. I just realized, I need to watch more of your videos to get a better sense of what these different boxes can do for your tone and get more inspired to create better music. Writing from Sharpsburg, GA - just around the corner from you. God bless!
Should have been considered one of the classic comp options, but PT has firmly failed to take it's piece of the market. Now, combined with Supro, hopefully they'll reach a broader clientele. They make some traditional, as well as fairly groundbreaking ,high quality circuits, and the entire Supro pedal line, - (except ,maybe ,the Fuzz,) - are exceptional. You can never have too much Germanium on the board; as noted, it is non negotiable magic, whatever the context.
I also just stumbled onto this channel cause I'm thinking about buying a Philosophers tone but am familiar with the IV8888 channel and did a double take. What is it about Guitars and Guns HaHa Love em both
Hey Eric, one of my favorite things about germanium pedals, from the Sunface to a Rangemaster to various DIY boosts I've slapped together, is how they clean up with the guitar's volume knob. Does this pedal do that trick with the Grit turned up? Is the Grit before the comp in the signal path so it is getting the direct in from the guitar? Thanks for your thoughts...
I see this one doesn’t have the Treble knob the other mini version has. Do you think is needed in this one to preserve original tone? I understand compression pedals usually reduces a little treble. I’m trying to decide between this gold version and the black one. Any opinion between this two? Thanks!
@@toomuchtime5505 it also is substantially affected by what type of pick-ups one uses as you'll naturally get more of a treble heavy chime with single coils compared to more pronounced midrange and low-end with humbuckers. Thank goodness I have four guitars (two with single coils + two with hums) each equipped with different output levels to allow for a lot of versatility. To answer your question, no you'll be fine without the treble control as I assume you can adjust the eq on your other gear as well as adjusting the blend to reduce the compression of higher frequencies to your liking. The blend control in my opinion should be the deal-breaker for anyone looking for a compressor.
Mary Spender gave a demonstration of a carbon fiber guitar on UA-cam. She says you do not need pedals. Have you thought of trying a carbon fiber guitar for your demonstrations?
Wait a second... IV8888 ?!? SO excited to find out you do guitar AND firearms reviews! Thanks for your contributions to both communities.

19:50 First time ive seen you make a guitar face! LOL! Awesome licks in this episode! Thanks for the upload!
I'm looking at this for a stacked boost/drive for a pedal-board, it sure looks versatile.

You can hear that there is plenty of treble in this demo
