Today we’re turning tone into gold with the Philosopher’s Tone Micro from Pigtronix. Based on its legendary full-sized Philosopher’s Tone, the Micro version shrinks to half size and gets back to basics, dropping the grit knob and delivering seemingly endless noise-free sustain to all manners of input signals. A clever Blend control offers parallel compression, to dial in just the right amount of pick attack while retaining your guitar’s natural tone. The Philosopher’s Tone Micro now runs on nine volts instead of 12, with 18 volts of rail-to-rail voltage for thought-provoking headroom no matter what you feed into it. Everything from drive-enhanced signals and white-hot pickups both passive and active pickups and line-level signals gets hammered by the Micro and coated in rich tonal enhancement. The active Treble knob provides a six-decibel cut or boost at the 2 kHz frequency band for some precise tonal sculpting in the middle of the compression. The Treble control also restores any perceived high-end loss that occurs as the result of heavier compression settings. And just like all Pigtronix pedals, the Philosopher’s Tone Micro is exhaustingly engineered and constructed using top-flight components.

It's not as dark as it used to be, in there.
I just purchased this pedal and idk if its that im new with comps but, the pedal doesnt boot the signal, when the volume knob is at the top it sound just as the dry signal, at 12 ok is very shutted off, i dont think is normal since in reviews i have seen volume at 12 is almost as the dry signal

I'm in the exact same situation. the Wampler has a couple extra switching options, but how useful will they be? i think it's going to cost a little more than this pedal. Both seem to function great though.

I'd go for Wampler
Check out the Philosophers tone micro gold. It has a germanium grit knob instead of a treble. Much more useful and can double as almost anything from a chorus to an overdrive pedal. Extremely versatile.
