    Great video! I like this voice over format. It's very helpful as you walk us through your thought process on finding the fish. The banners that show the depth, temp, and time of year are great for context, too. Maybe try to catch a few of those crappie sometime. I'd love to improve my crappie skills, too. Best wishes!

    Good video. I like that you explain what your thought process is in a voice over. On the rare chance that someone makes one, I LOVE videos start by explaining all the pre-lake plan before getting on the lake including areas, techniques and baits and why. Then do some of the thinking on the lake, but voice over is great. Then, go over how it went, adjustments made. All with the WHY? There used to be a TV show here for years and years and they did those very things. It was great that even if they went out and got skunked, they filmed it and why they thought they failed. The more details and the THOUGHT PROCESS the better. Thanks for the video. Always enjoy watching.

    voice over is great. Would be helpful knowing how deep the off shore fish are and which lure you are using. Include colors, +/- rattle, retrieve speed, and boat position. Thanks. Glad to see you back.

    More voice over about the thought process is more valuable to me. I have not done that much in my videos, but I’m heading the direction in the future. Of course seeing catches based on those thoughts or understanding why the thoughts didn’t work are also very valuable.

    Thank you for the videos that you make. As others have said Very Informative & High Quality. Your videos are really helping me with my graph and game as well as giving me more confidence to move more off shore. I just think for some of us, our on water time is limited, so we end up doing what we know and/Or are comfortable with.
    .....Like pounding the banks.
    Got to try new things to learn and to expand our knowledge and therefore to improve and become better.
    Thank You....keep em coming Please!

    I like the voice over format. Let’s you focus on your graphing and fishing. Maybe more specifics on bait choices, like what you tied on before practice and adjustments you made during. Idk, I’ve only been subbed a short while and I’ve learned so much already. Thanks man, and good luck on the tournament grind this year.

    Really great channel, lots of good info and advice. Thanks! A question: you cast with your right hand and then switch the rod to the left hand and reel in right handed, why not cast right and reel in with the left hand?

    • @mattseifert
      @mattseifert 4 роки тому

      The way you recommend is the way I do it. I used a spinning reel only until about 4 years ago. When I got my first bait caster it felt more natural for me to go with a “left handed” reel and cast with my right, reel with my left. I asked an older angler one time why he used “right handed” reels for baitcasters but reeled with his left on spinning reels. He told me that when he started, “left handed” reels weren’t really a thing so everyone learned to reel with their left on spinning reels and their right on casting reels. I think that style of fishing have lived on by the older generations teaching the younger ones how to fish. Just my thoughts.

    Jonny...my lakes are beginning to flood. The temperatures are 48-51°. The water is muddy and full of debris. Locating fish on my electronics is very difficult in all of this debris. I've spent 2 days and haven't caught a single fish. In fact I may habe only caught a "handful" of fish since last may. I've studied and followed all of your tips, and practiced them rigorously for about a year now. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Which baits and locations would be best in the conditions that I've listed above? Its pre-spawn so locations in these conditions....would they be the same? Baits?

    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  4 роки тому +1

      In those conditions, I would be fishing shallow in the newly flooded cover. Through a spinnerbait with a big Colorado blade, a jig, and a chatterbait around flooded cover. The key in those conditions is finding slightly clearer water and covering water. You may fish for 2 miles and not get a bite, then pull up on a 30 yard stretch and catch 10 bass. It's kind of like finding a needle in a hay stack in those conditions so just put the trolling motor and 60% and cover water. Also, don't be afraid to fish in 2-5ft of water when water temps are in the upper 40's
