Canada's drinking age is 18 in some provinces and 19 in others. The joke is that most of us ignore it and get an older friend or our parents to buy it for us. My dad started buying my beer for me when I was 16 so he could keep track of how much I was drinking. Also Canada Post is not that slow. People just forget how big our country is and how little infastructure it has in some places.

10:40 Saskatchewan, Canada. It's a meme for Americans. There are no mountains in Saskatchewan. Hollywood once made a movie (with Tyrone Power) about Mounties, called Saskatchewan! (the exclamation point is part of the movie's title). The slogan: "Filmed entirely in the glory of the Canadian Rockies!" (which are in Alberta and B.C.) 22:40: Scarborough is a suburb of Toronto; the picture is Banff National Park in Alberta. (What Americans think Canada looks like.) And, finally: Canada Geese -- they have teeth on their tongues! and can break your leg with their wings.

We have literally had all 4 seasons in a single day before, it can be snowing in the morning, spring like in late morning, very early afternoon, then summer temps in the mid afternoon, then fall like weather by the evening. This is why we send our kids to school and daycare with literally all outside clothing! Because the weather will be totally different by the time you leave. Good Morning Tyler: The photo's of a town with a mountain in the background is Banff, Alberta (in the past and present). Saskatchewan is a prairie province - basically flat, no mountains nearby. Scarborough, Ont. is a city near Toronto - again no mountains nearby. It's our way of mocking how much people from other countries don't know about Canada or our geography. Each province has a different legal drinking age but it is usually 18 or 19. We just start drinking much earlier, usually about 15 or so. The Canadian Post Office is atrocious - if they don't lose our mail we might get something within the next month or so. Terrible, terrible service. Many, many U.S. TV shows and movies are filmed in Canada because of the tax incentives and the difference in the U.S./Canadian dollar. You really should watch a video about Terry Fox. He was definitely a great man. This is one called Anything's Possible. ua-cam.com/video/3BzyHYZgMz8/v-deo.html

The second meme about not expecting customers in the worst conditions is actually really funny. It’s not that “Well Canadians are hardy and will go out in anything” because while this may be somewhat true most people can’t wait to get home and not go out again when it’s miserable.
The gist is if that when you work in essential services or the type of retail that is always open (lot more rare up here in Canada than it is in the US) and it’s No one but Polar bears or crazy snowboarders wants to be out in this kind of day and you bust your butt going in seeing nothing but piles of the white and barely another sole, you figure “Well hell, at least it’s going to be dead” but…NOPE…. Suddenly everyone decides they need to stock up and it’s way busier then normal with customers looking like the meme.

For the Canadian drinking age, the joke is around the fact that there's a lot of underaged drinking. So while there's an official drinking age, most people have already been drinking well before that. As for the Canadian geese, they can be very aggressive when guarding their offspring. They can be upto 14lbs - 24lbs with a wingspan upto 50". So when you see a large bird come racing towards you in a frenzy, it can intimidate a lot of people. You don't hear too much about the Maritimes or the middle provinces Saskatchewan or Manitoba. BTW, yes, Canadian Geese are mean birds and will not hesitate to attack you, plus they make a mess out of your lawn (fertilizer) ;) I think the drinking age is you have to be 19 years old to legally drink in establishments, however, no one says that there is one in private homes. Seems that every father lets their sons drink a gulp of beer when they are small and it seems that every kid likes the taste too. The banana bread thing was like 'preheating an oven to bake something' so she wants her apartment pre-heated before she gets home. Lame unless she means that it's so cold outside that she wants the apartment warmed up so she can warm up ... that part I would understand as I've been there, but it's still lame. Here in Canada some of our major cities will change evolve greatly over the years, but a lot of our smaller communities are almost not all that different from 100 years ago, And a larger percent of Canada I would say is those kinds of smaller communities that barely ever change.

I grew up in Winnipeg, learned to drive at 12, could change a tire at 14 and navigate by the cardinal points by the time I got my licence (ok, that last one is not common). Partly because if you get stuck anywhere with a flat in most other provinces, you're probably a ways out from any help, so you better know how to do basic roadside stuff.
