Don Cox, Bob Bradley and I caught up with your group and helped you through that last stretch. We contacted on and completed the entire route that day. It has since been cleaned out and is not as scratchy. Some of us do air down but we have very few things to climb over compared to rocky locations. This day was the first day that we can tell that the trail was driven on since hurricane Irma.
Yea, it was ugly that day. The people that go out and do that trail now will never know the struggle we had. I've seen videos from recent trips out there. It's definitely cleaner and less scratchy. And having hit trails and parks all over the SE, East coast, and out here in Texas, I for sure know the difference. Florida does have places like Hard Rock and Spyder that will give a decent challenge. But I'll admit it was a good day though. It's things like that, that bring folks together.
You'll love it. Make sure you go out there with a group or someone else just in case. The group I rode with was awesome! I have no doubt you'll go out there and have some fun!
Yes. I'm originally from the area but stationed in SC. The clubs you want to join are Florida Jeep people and Daytona Beach Jeep Club. They're all awesome and they aleays have trail rides and events going on
@@odinswolf971 Yes I am. 19yrs. Got about 5 more to go. On the 31st? I'm jealous! Lol. And yes, look them up! They're are cool folks to hang out and hit the trails with!
I'll see if one of my friends from down there has the GPS coordinates for you. If not, I have to go back home to get my jeep regeared on Thursday and I'll get the GPS for you.
You know, I'll be honest. The day that I went I was with another group and I'm not quite sure which trailhead we used. I do know that we were going East on SR40, made a left onto the trail, followed the firebreak, made another left, crossed another highway, went down another firebreak, turned left into the woods and disappeared! Hahaha😂😂😂
Yes. It's been cleaned up and improved a bit since we went. A couple of jeepers in our club did it a couple weeks ago. They drive a compass and a renegade. Although they have a little lift, you can still do it. You'll be fine. If you check out my other vid: ua-cam.com/video/byQxKb0iNL0/v-deo.html and go to the 29:14 mark and you can see what the compass and the renegade look like.
Yes you could. But, doing it in a topless and/or doorless Jeep is a lot cooler. And the fun is who you're doing it wih and the adventure that you have doing it while going from point A to point B.
You know, that's a good question. When we went, they had just added the trail to the Jeep BOH program. So, we could have totally went where we shouldn't have. That is a really good question.
Why does no one in Florida believe in airing down when they go wheeling 🤣. Ya’ll struggle on some of the simplest obstacles. Air down to like 20psi and you wouldn’t struggle so much.
Airing down is situational. Even though some of the group did air down that day, it wasn't a trail that you needed to air down. And I didn't see anyone struggle.
Not at all. Maybe you should use offroading as an opportunity to get to know people. The epic part was being on a trail with good people you can have fun with. It doesn't matter whether it's light trail riding or rock crawling. Hanging out with good people is always epic, no matter what we're doing. If you don't understnad that, then you're doing it wrong. But, thanks for the comment.👍🙂
Picking up my 2000 TJ tomorrow I'd love to come out sometime
That's awesome! You near Ocala?

Extreme Terrain Barricade Roof Rack. I installed one on my wife's JKU about a year ago. Check out my video: ua-cam.com/video/LBYlFpf6jG0/v-deo.html

Tread lightly?! 5:40?

Great trail.🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
we rode 4wheelers there years ago and it was such a cool place, your right the trails are tight and you will get some newly added pin strips for free.
We didn't really see any ATVs out there that day. But, you're right. It is a cool place to ride.
which trail head you used to start?
