This is such a fun show to theorize about. My favorite part of last episode was Juliette refusing to clean and doing the wool drop! I’m hoping, in next season, that Juliette makes it back into the Silo somehow to kind of make the people question how she survived a cleaning when the others didn’t. This was such a great season which now I can’t wait for a season 2 because I know it will be just as amazing as this one was!
This whole time I was thinking the big reveal would be that the poison is in the suit.. I'm so confused now like why do they spray that chemical on them in the airlock before they go out? And whats the motivation behind the fake screen in the helmet?
@@livia5158 I think that the fake image in the helmet makes that person want to clean the sensor so everyone else inside can see what they are seeing. I’m not sure if the stuff that they spray on the people before the door opens to the outside is poison that breaks down the tape on the suits or if it is some sort of protective measure that prevents the toxic air from outside from seeping into the Silo when the door is opened.
No spoilers, just some insight. Now that season one is complete, you should have some idea why book one in the trilogy is titled Wool. The second book in the trilogy is titled Shift and that is a hint for what is coming in season two. It is likely will continue Juliette’s story, but we will also learn about the creation of the Silos if it follows the books. Some things to ponder on in the meantime. What city is that ruin we can see in the distance? If Sims did not know about the projected image that all cleaners see in their visor, then who is Bernard’s Shadow? Surely the shadow should know most of what Bernard knows. Remember the journals in the Mayor’s office only go back to the last uprising, how does Bernard (and supposedly his shadow) know about the outside and the projected image? Remember that the Hard drive and Bernard’s key fob both had 18 on them. The discussion that Bernard and Juliette have in the cell about the door in the bottom of the silo should also be examined. Bernard did not seem to know about it. If it actually does lead to other Silos, then is very inconvenient given how hard it is to access. By now you should also have a good idea why Bernard was so upset about Juliette stealing the heat tape. Also don’t forget about the law banning magnification, that is important. Thanks for the videos and I look forward to season 2.
Howey has said that Season 2 will be the rest of Wool - nobody has mentioned Shift being in S2...yet. I feel like it would be a bit much for them to squeeze in the 2nd half of Wool AND some of Shift into a single season. My money is on Shift being S3 at the moment.
10:46 As far as focusing upon something for too long,... Since they spend a lot of time focused on the fog gas in the first chamber of the airlock, I think there's something significant about that. If the toxin is in that gas, it may dissipate as Juliette travels and puts distance between herself and the silo.
you all made me really think about it- i didn’t think she was going to survive, but realistically each and every silo has the same camera- and you wouldn’t risk a revolution by not letting some random person in. i’m not sure what the other silos are like, but i imagine that Bernard was going to warn the other silos of her arrival. idk just a theory! lol
I think there would be a revolution if any silo saw someone outside surviving the environment. I think if any silo rebelled and overran the administration, they would likely be trying to go outside and trying to get into other silos already so for that reason I don't think it ever happened. Once they tried to infiltrate any silo, a call would be made to eliminate them. I think right now there's a contract hit put on Juliette already.
I just had a thought! Was Bernard showing Juliette a small mercy at the end? He ran and presumably it was him turning the VR thing off, so was he showing Juliette that it actually is toxic outside so to be careful! OR is it because he was hoping she would turn around and ‘clean’ because the pact says cleaning is to remind people that it’s not safe outside. What do you guys think?
I think he was just panicking hard at the end. I'm not sure his reasoning or what he was going to do at the end but I'll say he most likely wasn't doing anything for her. She's his #1 enemy.
@@sceneinvaders I think it was visually depicted on the show as though it was a hologram although in practice (as far as anything like that could be practical), it would've been implemented as VR. TV production would've been more effective to deliver the same ultimate effect for the characters in this way so audience can still see actor's face. the screen would be implemented inside the helmet visor if this was reality. I don't think Bernard Holland has any malice towards Juliette Nichols. Either interpretation seems valid and plausible as far as whether it was Bernard trying to disable/terminate the false display effect or Bernard was trying to extend the false display effect.
I don't think he turned the VR thing off. I think she just wandered out of range for it to receive a signal from the Silo anymore. That's why it's imperative for the people behind this that the people who go outside die before they reach that tree/ridge.
@@Cbricklyne Very good thinking - I agree. Bernard panicked because he knew when Juliette reaches the hilltop, she would see other silos...which means Bernard knew about other silos too. But on the other hand - how could this be a threat to silo 18? If Juliette would stumble back to silo 18 entrance and bang on the door to let her in, he would simply not ler her in a the secret would be kept. If Juliette gets to the closest silo and they would let her in, it is their problem, isn´t it?
It would be interesting if they do season 2 in another silo, but, don’t let us know anything about Juliette until later on in the season….but I genuinely cannot wait until season 2!
Absolutely. Jules will be the new leader of rebellion and organize with other bunkers. They will try to leave the silo to look for new Eden with green trees and blue skies which lies far outside the silo.
I've started to develop a hypothetical scenario where the last rebellion resulted in the segregation of silos. Imagine that the silos were at one point connected and the tunnel was open but a cease fire was negotiated to where the rebels secluded themselves in one side leaving the rest in another side. Suppose that the agreement stipulated that they remain separated for at least four generations and until there were no survivors of the original rebellion nor their immediate offspring This would be a one time deal and any future uprising would result in immediate termination
I’m still so confused about outside, it’s barren just as I suspected, but I don’t know if it’s poisonous or not? Logic would dictate that it is, and that the heat tape saved her, but i don’t know how that tree has any bit of green if it is poisonous? Unless I’m mistaken about the tree. The city could just be empty so now I think that doesn’t tell us too much. Okay, I change my mind from my previous comment on this… I think outside is poisonous and Bernard just thought the toxicity would kill her before she got to the top (I originally interpreted as whatever is in the helmet will get her but I think he just meant the air outside). Final answer: it is poisonous out there.
I think the story is most interesting if the toxicity has dissipated but that life has not quite returned. That would allow the most evolution in later volumes of the book and later series/seasons (those guys in the UK where this stuff is being produced call them series what us Yanks {or Californians😉} call seasons) I think the toxin is in the foggy gas that's dousing people in the first chamber of the airlock. They decided long ago to ensure people die when they go outside even when the environment recovers. Perhaps, the people now above ground want to monopolize the available space. Perhaps, the wealthy have already emerged and live in luxurious domed palaces wandering the surface for leisure in advanced space suits riding hovering speeder bikes; however, they justify allowing peasants/plebians to remain underground.
I appreciate your chemistry. I came for your YellowJackets content, I stayed for your Silo content. Looking forward to your ( hopefully From ) future content. I was hoping for a big door reveal as well, but I think that knowledge will help Juliette next season. I can’t wait to see the inside the other silos. I wonder how their communities will differ from Silo 18. Maybe it’s all a controlled experiment to see how groups of humans evole and devolve through generations. I bet there’s at least one so where everyone inside is dead.
Thanks so much for the support. We're happy to have you! We love making these videos & we're always looking for more shows to cover so if you ever have a recommendation let us know!
In another comment thread here, I've already expressed my disinterest in further content related to the *_From_* series. I'd like to see *_Foundation_* coverage though. Later, and to a lesser degree, *_For All Mankind._* *_Severance_* production hopefully gets under way for the next season. Some reported problems with the team. I think these silos are less about survival refuge and founded more for the purposes of observation and research of social anthropology. The giant array of silos must be petri dishes. If it was about survival and established for redundancy, the silos would be farther apart. Instead, they're isolated but in proximity. The capacity/population of 10,000 is the minimum for a viable gene pool but small enough to maximize control. Larger populations would thrive better with more genetic diversity and better distribution/specialization of labor.
Best conversation about Silo I have watched yet! Great job, I just subscribed... Now, my thoughts. When Juliette went outside, she tripped over Holdens body and fell. When she reached down she touched him and realized she was seeing an illusion... reinforced by the bird formation. Thats why she took the badge out and said this belongs to you and placed it on his body. There arent different rules. Thats what the {PACT) is for. There is an IT manager in every Silo with a key with the Silo # on it. Andf you can see from the reflection in his glasses the server room is HUGE! Still not quite sure why he went in there... I think he wanted to make sure she was still seeing the projection...not realizing that once she crested the burm, the signal stopped and she could see the truth. And i think he sent LUCAS to the mines so he can help him uncover the DOOR that Juliette mentioned. Remember, he is a brilliant guy If you look at Bernards expression when she asks him about that, he looks quizical and only says, the founders had plans we dont understand. Honestly, I'm not sure if even he knows about the other SIlo's. Bernard is grooming Sims to be his replacement, but he hasnt told him anything relevant as you can see when he was told to close his eyes. His look back at hime tells that story in spades! Which leads me to beleive Bernard is the only one that knows whats going on, and I dont think even he knows it all, which was the point of him running to the server room. and lastly, I dont think they communicate from SILO to SILO. it could even be that that #18 flooded below and the door and tunnel were buried by accident. OR, maybe all of the SILOS have a complete underground railway system and everyone els in the other 40 or so have a thriving metropolis underground like in the movie Total Recall and because of the flooding in #18 they have been completely isolated.. WHO KNOWS! LOL I have not read the books, so this is all just my opinion.... But, I am going to read SHIFT...Honestly I just cant wait 2 years to find out whats happening. PEACE OUT!
Love these videos. But I think you guys interpret some thing drastically different than how I did. 1. The tape was purposely made shitty quality by IT (Bernard) compared to mechanical so as to allow the poison inside the suit. Not like it's a coincidence that tape happenes to be bad because remember Bernard was very upset when Juliette stole tape from IT. 2. pretty sure Bernard didn't know about the other silo's otherwise he wouldn't have reacted with such surprise when she told him about the door. (remember he didn't even know the no 18 drive even existed. 3. The gas they spray before letting them out can also be poison. 4. Also the feed in her helmet is not just AR. I think its being transmitted wirelessly Bernard might be the only 1 who has wireless tech as if you notice even those guys in the janitor's closet were surprised by the video & even sims didn't know what was that. That means Bernard programmed the whole thing & he controls that through "server room" hence when he realises she knows he runs immediately to literally kill her using a secondary wireless killswitch/failsafe (his keyfob 18 no is also wireless as in it glows red when received a signal) & nothing in silo is wireless. So basically he saw she is getting out of the hologram dome & that dome is the range of the wireless transmission hence her feed cuts off & Bernard couldn't kill her despite entering the server room. (if you see the blueprint in the drive there is some evidence of the wireless tech.
Very good points and observations! As for No. 2, imagine you beying Bernard and inheriting a key with number 18 on it - wouldn´t you ask why 18? Wouldn´t you think there are other silos with other numbers? So my guess is that he knew about other silos but he just didn´ t know about the deep down door.
I don’t think Bernard knows about the other silos nor their origin. His mission is represented in the statement of “We do not know…” He does what he does to keep the silo safe. That means he has to cross the line sometimes but he doesn’t know anything beyond their own silo. I think a lot of the key information was concealed and not passed down from the previous generations. The faulty tape and the VR visor are both methods of control that was passed down to Bernard but not originated from him.
The code for the oddly sized display with the bizarre pixel density was the give away. The control aspect is very clear. One narrow stair no easy was to communicate with people from other parts of the silo. No elevator. Curious people aren’t allowed to have children. It was all pretty clear.
it would be obvious if everyone lives in a confined space, they'd have to control the birthrate to be in equilibrium with the death rate. There must always be roughly 10,000 silozens. There's only so much food and other resources. That's justified. On the other hand, no elevator, no radio, limited use of electronic messages, most communication via handwritten paper media and human intermediary porters, no magnification, hidden cameras, snitch culture.... It *is* very clear. Though, I don't recollect/understand significance of _"code for ... display"_
Have you guys watched “for all mankind” or “severance”? Apple has been putting some incredible shows out. Only murders starts in a month too. I love that show
Apple really is killing it. Severance was my favorite show of last year, I haven't started For All Mankind - but I have heard good things. Our next show "The Afterparty" is Apple TV + also. And we will definitely cover OMITB.
Found him! He’s the guy who stares at the mechanical guy (the one who told judicial about Juliette) as he comes into the cafeteria when Juliette is going out to clean!
This is very interesting on two fronts. First, Jules tripped on Holston’s body due to the VR video. To the Silo residents, it seemed she was coming to the same fate as the others, but then Jules realized that what was under the hologram was, in fact, Holston. She placed his badge on his body; hence she felt him there. Walk’s tape saved Jules. Secondly, this part has nothing to do with Silo, but it’s intriguing nonetheless. It’s all about VR and Apple’s Vision Pro. Soon, we will all be immersed in such a reality, and will it be this scary? Note, the show Silo and the Vision Pro are Apple made.
She fell before she got to reach Holston. Must've been a rock, a stump, or a divot she wasn't able to see because it wasn't represented by the AR. For television, the implementation was partly AR and partly hologram. For the real world audience, it was represented resembling more of a hologram but, it's meant to represent an AR (augmented reality) for the in-universe characters/scene. It's an AR because it is overlaying a virtual scene mapped over the actual external scene, "augmenting" it. Even though we can see through the helmet visor to see the character's/actor's face, that's for the practical television purposes of seeing their facial expressions but, it is not to imply that the actor can literally see through the visor to a hologram (a video projected out into physical three-dimensional space). A true AR visor would've most likely been opaque and would basically be a set of VR goggles plus an outwardly facing camera if not also GPS on top of the VR goggle's accelerometers and gyroscope
I think the air might be breathable outside reason I believe this is because when they send someone outside to clean they send them through a chamber and spray a white gas once they leave the chamber they burn the gas in the chamber why would you do this in reverse I would understand if someone was coming in but if you are going out from a clean environment this process is not right. I believe the gas they spray is poison gas, and the tape from I.T allows the gas to get through to the person, and the fake image in the helmet is too slow you down to give the gas enough time to work and poison you. I don't believe the outside is due to some kind of nuclear war as the silos would take a long time to build, more likely due to a climate event they knew was coming in the future which gives them enough time to build the silos. What are anyone else's thoughts on this?
Silos are to keep things fresh or storage until needed?. Perhaps there are so many as to contain until required?. Who lives in the city and do they use one silo at a time, as a food resource?.
I loved the series, it had the same mystery vibe as Loki / Westworld series. The finale was huge and there was more questions than answers and you guys had some interesting thoughts as I did, so hopefully we get some answers next season and I can't wait for it.
along the spectrum, as with all present Marvel content, Loki was more about antics and visual effects than mystery which is a contrast with Westworld. Westworld was more mystery. Silo is somewhere in between the two. We want to know why there are so many silos and how they're different from one another. We want to know who's running the bigger picture of the collective silos and why they created the silos. I'm not convinced that 230 years give or take is enough for people living in the silos to forget the origins. The files on the hard drive were dated as "silo year 97" so if it's been 140 years since the rebellion when that drive was presumably hidden,...
Commenting before watching and then will comment as a response to the video after as well! At the end, I said out loud, to myself “that’s a lot of fucking silos, and that’s a lot of fucking city.” RIGHT so, I think the poison IS in the helmet (I think), the heat tape clearly helped with that somehow? The outside is barren but I don’t get how it could be poisonous because there’s a tree (the tree does have green on it even after the projected image disappears) and there’s a city (unless the city is empty too and everyone is living in the silos?) I think season 2 is going to see two storylines, Juliette’s and the silos. The part between Juliette and her dad was so beautiful and emotional. More than anything I want to say that I cried and cried and cried at Walker in this episode. Like I said before, I went through a serious bout of agoraphobia for a few months back in 2017 and it’s not easy. Even when I did gradually introduce myself back to the outside of my house, I had to put a blanket over my head in the car at times (I was in the passenger seat, obviously). What Walker did, after not months but YEARS of agoraphobia, well no words can describe it, no words do it justice. Some words, but still not words to do it justice: inspirational, brave, courageous, kind, valorous. I can’t wait for season two though, I might have to read the books.
@@waltzingmatilda9092 thank you so much for sharing your story! I have never dealt with any situation where I had a fear to leave my home so I cannot fully understand it in a way to understand that fear that Walk would have felt leaving her home after 25 years of being afraid to leave it! I can only imagine her fear and only relate it to fears that I have had that are considered “not common” fears that I have which I’m sure is still not the same! What I can recognize is that Walk doing what she did was so unbelievably brave and done with complete love! Walk is one of my favorite characters and a complete hero to me right now!
I can imagine there's at least one Silo where all hell broke loose & everyone died. I'm excited to learn more about different Silos as the series progresses.
Wow, so many possibilities for Juliet that I am excited for season 2. I loved this show and actually found it via a you-tube short and wanted to check the show out the you-tube short was of ann who screamed she wanted to go out. That intrigued me so much that I found the show and I am glad I did. this world is very vivid in its charterers and the story that whoever wrote it was a Genius. I also love this channel and how you guys cover the show so well for sure subscribing. I also wanted to know who are the other people you have on as it's different or the same people you chat with about the show. are they fans that you let on or are they friends that binge the shows you watch with you?
Sometimes it's other creators we meet and sometimes it's Subscribers like Kiznbelle. If you would like to come on sometime let us know we could set that up!
@@sceneinvaders Oh I see thanks for answering my question. I'm really flattered that you offered for me to be on the show with you but I am not comfortable showing my face on camera but thank you so much! 😄. you are such a cool and chill guy who is very Analytical about shows and this is why I love watching your videos and theories. When I saw the season final last night and saw all the other silos I instantly thought "OMG he was right his theory was right being more than one silo" Again thanks for offering to have me on can't wait for season 2 of the silo and I to see your theories and reactions.
I love this show. This is why streaming services should stop dropping shows binge. Week to week is awesome because the build up and theories make it that much more compelling
Seriously, She was gassed with a poisonous substance before leaving the airlock! Then when she leaves, they burn the residue to clean the airlock. The tape from supply switched the tape preventing exposure from the poison. I’m pretty sure the air outside is fine or they have no reason to poison them in the first place.
If the silo is surrounded by other silos and the secret level with the door George found is under the bottom Mechanical level, where the hell are the mines that Lukas was sentenced to? Below or to the side are the only possible directions and we know those are ocupado.
Maybe that watch has something important, why keep mentioning that specific watch? 🤔 also why did Julia and her boyfriend asked to drink water before going outside . I also noticed when they were taken Julia by chains to go outside she kept looking at those fans that are at the center of the silos . Maybe when she is outside since she is in engineering she will make everything crash making everyone in the silo have to go outside . She was the one that kept the engines running a very crucial part of the silo. I think maybe the old sheriff and his wife Maybe alive and those bodies laying there are fake 🤔. Sorry I forgot everyone's name lol
the real question is if they wanted people to stay in the silo because they wanted to have power over them why creating an hologram of a beautiful world when it was a wasteland? And how the memory of why they were there was lost?
The hologram is to make people clean. It's a trick to make them want to clean the sensor so the people inside can see that it's actually not a wasteland.
What if the guy that went over the rail actually knows a way to land softly and found his way out of that tunnel into another silo? And when Juliette gets into another silo, there he is. 👀
I red the books and it's hard to enjoy the show as wonderful as it is . without the spoilers inside your head. i can only say that we are in the middle of book 1.
You’re missing a very important question….if it’s actually toxic outside, why bother having a fake green lush fake image? 🤷🏻♂️ why was that image created? That’s the key 🔑
As someone mentioned earlier - when a person is sent to clean, it is a death sentence and the person could be enraged and refuse to clean. But the cleaning really is necessary as the outside dust cloggs the camera. So when you enter outside and see green grass, blue sky and birds, it could let you think that by cleaning the camera others would see what you see. So the fake image is a tool to make you clean.
My theory is that they're not even on earth... That The Founders are actually an alien race who have successfully imprisoned much of mankind.. well whoever was left after they decimated earth
I have a question: how many suits they have to send people outside? I mean, the suits can be easily fabricated, that’s ok, it’s just fabric. But what about the helmet; that is like high technology. How many of those helmets they have in stock to send people out? They have been inside of the Silo for decades. Shouldn’t they have run out of those high tech helmets by now? Excuse my English if you find any grammar error, I am a Spanish speaker still learning English 😊
That is a good question. I would assume that if there ever were an instance where they had to send a lot of people out at once (say 100 people) - Then maybe they just wouldn't give them these helmets. We've only seen a few people leave one by one. I would think people high up in IT have them made somehow? Good question.
I tend to think that the people who planned and bulit such a large self-reliant silos (because now we know there are many silos) would take this into account and prepare thousands of these helmets. In their time, they had to have knowledge of some incoming catastrophy and of its nature (nuclear, huge meteor etc.) and planned things carefully. Building such silos isn´t accomplished in a year, it must have taken years. And they probably knew the earth would be unhabitable for some time and also knew human nature is very curious and would like to exit the silo, they had to keep people in (in order for the human race to survive). The best way is the same as non-democratic regimes rule - keep people in fear and withhold any information.
Perhaps it's control...which ever silos behave the best survive.... he said the needs of the masses out weigh needs of one.. paraphrase... his comment talking to her about everything goes kaboom.. perhaps masses need to behave or all sufffer?...
my far out theory is that Bernard isnt human, with every silo having a Bernard. most probs AI cynthetics.. AI vs Human war... is y earth is fried... They keep other existence's of Silo a secret as to create a more complient/obedient society, as this creates more fear of going against the grain... cause u know u dont wanna be that one dick that ends all life. Taking the story parallel to stories like Matrix and Terminator, just showing a different kind of story involving AI's.
@@markvolt2070 like all other intelligent species that reign superior over the other - form of energy source would be the number 1 reason. Experimentation and character study one of many others.
U guys just need to read wiki for silo plot and would know what would happen next .... Can't understand why wasting time on predictions when it's books are already out 🤥
because that's not exactly the same as following the television show. people often have a preference to follow the version of the story that is on the show despite the fact it is different or because of the fact it is different. people may also want to enjoy it as it plays out on the show without being biased by the version that is in the book. people also like to exercise their imagination and consider all the potential possibilities at the key points defined in the story at the episode breaks. They may strongly prefer to be able to discuss with other people using the version of the story that plays out at the pace of the story being told in the show. if your personality is different and you like to use your brain only to digest the one "true" version of the story then that is your prerogative and it would be most courteous and respectful to grant others the freedom to exercise logic and reason their way. if you actually do value understanding people then stop and consider how people are different and how they treat aspects of thinking as virtuous and enjoyable. Consider your "WHYs", the other audience's/consumer's "WHYs", the characters' "WHYs", and the storyteller's "WHYs". If you complete that mental exercise still thinking that there is only one best way to consume art and that one way is yours then, you can simply acknowledge that you are not ready to understand.

When he made them shut their eyes it reminded me of when I was a Kid watching a movie with my parents and a nude scene would come up😂😂😂😂
No spoilers, just some insight. Now that season one is complete, you should have some idea why book one in the trilogy is titled Wool. The second book in the trilogy is titled Shift and that is a hint for what is coming in season two. As far as focusing upon something for too long,...
Since they spend a lot of time focused on the fog gas in the first chamber of the airlock, I think there's something significant about that. If the toxin is in that gas, it may dissipate as Juliette travels and puts distance between herself and the silo.
you all made me really think about it- i didn’t think she was going to survive, but realistically each and every silo has the same camera- and you wouldn’t risk a revolution by not letting some random person in. i’m not sure what the other silos are like, but i imagine that Bernard was going to warn the other silos of her arrival. idk just a theory! lol
We have to hope that she finds the "Rebel" Silo Group. At least one of them has to be like that!
@@sceneinvaders
I think it was visually depicted on the show as though it was a hologram although in practice (as far as anything like that could be practical), it would've been implemented as VR.
Oh that's a cool concept! I can't wait for this show to come back
Thanks for covering this show!! Can’t wait for From (I have to start watching that!) and The Afterparty s2!
The Afterparty is gonna be such a fun time!
There might be a silo where other people have done what Juliette has done - like a rebels silo!
I hope that is the Silo she ends up at. Would be cool if it's just a rebel Silo that she joins and then works together with them.
Suppose that the agreement stipulated that they remain separated for at least four generations and until there were no survivors of the original rebellion nor their immediate offspring
This would be a one time deal and any future uprising would result in immediate termination
red pill silo
You all missed commenting on some really important moments like when Simms was clueless about the truth
The tree had to grow up after the silo was build. But who knows how quickly earth became poisonous?
Wait, I'll measure it and will open a window...
I think the story is most interesting if the toxicity has dissipated but that life has not quite returned. That would allow the most evolution in later volumes of the book and later series/seasons (those guys in the UK where this stuff is being produced call them series what us Yanks {or Californians😉} call seasons)
I think the toxin is in the foggy gas that's dousing people in the first chamber of the airlock.
@@SpaceCaseZ06i agree, good theories

*_Severance_* production hopefully gets under way for the next season.
Yes, seems like there would be at least one other silo full of skeletons.
(if you see the blueprint in the drive there is some evidence of the wireless tech.
your # ③
Amazing series. I cant wait for season 2
Though, I don't recollect/understand significance of _"code for ... display"_

Apple really is killing it. Severance was my favorite show of last year, I haven't started For All Mankind - but I have heard good things. Our next show "The Afterparty" is Apple TV + also. And we will definitely cover OMITB.

Just made it to the end of the video to see that your next show is The AfterParty. I loved the first season so I’ll be here for that as well.

Also, Hugh Howey, the author, apparently made a cameo in the episode!

@@waltzingmatilda9092 Knox, Julie was his shadow when they were young and Martha introduced them. I expected there would've been a deeper connection.
Supplies are good
I think the air might be breathable outside reason I believe this is because when they send someone outside to clean they send them through a chamber and spray a white gas once they leave the chamber they burn the gas in the chamber why would you do this in reverse I would understand if someone was coming in but if you are going out from a clean environment this process is not right.
There is a eugenics element in this story. That may be the reason silo 18 has to be kept isolated and ignorant.
Awesome!
I think they are number 18 of the silos as there were more than 40 of them in the distance. 🤓
That would be my guess as well.
Commenting before watching and then will comment as a response to the video after as well!
At the end, I said out loud, to myself “that’s a lot of fucking silos, and that’s a lot of fucking city.”
RIGHT so, I think the poison IS in the helmet (I think), the heat tape clearly helped with that somehow? The outside is barren but I don’t get how it could be poisonous because there’s a tree (the tree does have green on it even after the projected image disappears) and there’s a city (unless the city is empty too and everyone is living in the silos?)
I think season 2 is going to see two storylines, Juliette’s and the silos.
The green color on the tree could be lichen. Lichen will survive everything.

It was the FAULTY TAPE >.< So sad the others are dead :( We will see the mines when she rescues him and are there Silos that have failed?
I can imagine there's at least one Silo where all hell broke loose & everyone died. I'm excited to learn more about different Silos as the series progresses.

Seriously,
She was gassed with a poisonous substance before leaving the airlock! Then when she leaves, they burn the residue to clean the airlock. The tape from supply switched the tape preventing exposure from the poison. I’m pretty sure the air outside is fine or they have no reason to poison them in the first place.
Its Vaultech.
Very nice!
I’m GUTTED for Lukas.
looking for a red pilled silo
the real question is if they wanted people to stay in the silo because they wanted to have power over them why creating an hologram of a beautiful world when it was a wasteland? And how the memory of why they were there was lost?
The hologram is to make people clean. It's a trick to make them want to clean the sensor so the people inside can see that it's actually not a wasteland.
What if the guy that went over the rail actually knows a way to land softly and found his way out of that tunnel into another silo? And when Juliette gets into another silo, there he is. 👀
Oh darn, but I forgot they showed his dead body? I can’t even remember his name. 😬
I was wondering why they were making a big deal about that tape.
It's to get them to clean.
It’s in the book.
Perhaps it's control...which ever silos behave the best survive.... he said the needs of the masses out weigh needs of one.. paraphrase... his comment talking to her about everything goes kaboom.. perhaps masses need to behave or all sufffer?...
that is a really solid theory! We will include this when we make our video for Predictions on Season 2

because that's not exactly the same as following the television show. people often have a preference to follow the version of the story that is on the show despite the fact it is different or because of the fact it is different. people may also want to enjoy it as it plays out on the show without being biased by the version that is in the book.
people also like to exercise their imagination and consider all the potential possibilities at the key points defined in the story at the episode breaks.
