On the low chance someone is looking through the comments of a 12 year old video for a 84 year old movie I am actually related to Frances Drake, so yeah cool fact about me.
I watched this courtesy of Sir Graves Ghastly back in 1970 when I was a third grader. It's my personal favorite of Universal's Karloff/Lugosi pairings from the 1930s.
Of the many films they did together, this film and Black Friday were the only ones where I preferred Boris Karloff. That was mostly due to Karloff having a better character in these two movies. Lugosi is the King and Karloff is the Prince. I guess that would make...I was going to label some horror star of 2012 as the Jester, but I honestly couldn't think of one. That shows you how much Hollywood cares about horror films these days!!!
Karlof kills Lugosi then kills himself by jumping out of a window where his body bursts into flames and disintetgrates in an instant. Hope that helps. :P

For 1936, this movie had some amazing special effects.
What a superb film. It possesses the high moral tone of classical tragedy.
Haven't seen this in years. Great old sci-fi film combined with horror. Lugosi was the good guy for once!
One of the best scifi films ever made. I love this movie.
So much talent, I scarce can take it in!😮

He was great as Karloff's sidekick. :)
Karloff sidekick?,,,,,,,,,,,FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Karloff doesn't deserve to smell my sh*t!
Bullshit!
people always need to mention the Ed Wood film when they see this
I think this is one of the first films to feature a star field effect (the scene in the observatory where they view space a long time in the past).
It was clearly inspired by a planetarium show, and I always thought it could have been reverse-engineered INTO a swell immersive planetarium show.

"Invisible Ray's Pizza" in glow-in-the-dark neon lettering...
Actually pretty good movie...
Yes they did that a lot with those cheepie B movie serials. Stock footage was used a lot back in the day.
Karloff???? Sidekick????

Agreed. I miss the wonderful combo of horror/sci fi.
"I held the refracting lens...and never - saw - again..."
Nice.
Why give away the movie. I knew someone who use to do that always.
As it turned out, he had no friends in a few months after blowing it.
