Congratulations to Italy which won with France!!!!! We play international rugby since only 10 years: France is a great team and beating them is a great honour and proves that Italy is doing better!
Christan Wade also scored 13 tries in the AP. In Rabodirect Pro 12, Tom Visser of Edinburgh scored 11 tries and was the leading try scorer of the league last season. Napolioni Nalaga of Clermont was the leading try scorer of the French Top 14 with just 13 tries. In last season's Super Rugby, Andre Taylor and Bjorn Basson tied the leading try scorer column with just 10 tries. Rugby Union relies on penalties because most games were penalty fests.
What is the name of the first song?? People said "Surface of the Sun" and it does sound similar, but it has to be a completely different version. I've been trying figure it out for like 3 years now.
5 Lineouts restart the ball just fine. The ball is thrown straight down the middle and contested amoung jumpers. It requires timing to jump and swat/steal. It requires patience for the thrower so he doesn't try to cheat and throw directly to his team. It requires its own set of skills(Learning the aspects of lineouts and strategies that you can use to win lineouts). Finally, it opens up for strategies.Maul, backs, or a rush by the sideline and all options after a line out. Defenders must be prep
great video guetta.. world like to echo the question about france-italy and do you know if adamMkeane is going to be making one. I ask simply because you two have collaborated before
Where are you getting this info from? RL and RU both have good flow and take up like 70 minutes out of the 80. Also, there are way more than 38 tackles in both RL and RU. It seems like RU is way more popular, you know seeing that the world cup, sevens, etc. are RU style. Btw, are you Australian?
From the IRB game analysis reports, 2011 RUWC, major tournament, major teams, " Passes averaged 263 per game" The most was 394 Fiji v SA the fewest 189 Aus v Ireland. Taking the average that is 263 passes per 30 players averaging 8.9 passes per man. RL's England v Exiles game was the last representative game of consequence, with 18.6 passes per man for England alone, 13 for the Exiles. That is 241 passes by just one side + 169 by the other = 410. Which is about the average in domestic club RL
There aren't any rucks in League (last time i checked in Canada). Rucks are fun and what keeps the game constant. Does league in the States or Europe or wherever you come from involve rucks?
Lineouts are the result of the game not flowing because the ball has been booted out. The IRB site is not broken down, it is the official site and if you typed in IRB player welfare, they typed in game analysis reports it is impossible to miss. If you are using YT then this is not difficult.
5...The same ball handling and passing strategies are used in RU as in RL.Switches,Misses,etc.All combinations of passing maneuvers are used in RU just as in RL.Kicks can be done;risking possession of the ball but it is a strategy to get the ball pass the defender. This causes the defender to be more aware of a run or a kick; involving more thinking and decision-making.The problem is you that you just can't accept that RU is a professional and widely-played sport all over the world. It's stubborn.
Everything you said in Rugby league can be done in Rugby union; passing, running with the ball, tackling. The difference is that rucks allow people to contest for the ball, it's a test of strength AND strategy. If you commit too many people then you may be overlapped, if not then you could have an advantage over your opposition (manpower). You should maybe consider that kicking is part of the game and it could be a strategy. Also, SOME people who have played both say RL is superior because they...
...Look at the science of rucking. You tackle someone; both are winded. Rucking is when the tackler gets up imidiately to contest the ball only to recieve a second winding. That would effectively cut huge portions of energy out of any person no matter how fit. Strategies; you kick for touch when the enemy team does a penalty. This is important because it involves careful thinking and skill to prevent commiting a penalty otherwise you will lose possession and the ball will be kicked down field...
3...RL is more standard like; you said, which means that there are narrow aspects on the game. More of the same strategies could be used making the game more predictable. RU has rucks that allow contesting during the first few seconds. RU also has kicks so players can use strategies rather than just play a strictly standard game involving mainly skill. In RU, skill and strategy are balanced because there is the kicking aspects, mauls, and rucks that combine and make it flow better...
but then again, yes it is.... so your suggesting that in rugby union, play stops for 46 minutes of the game, even though they can turn off the clock when there is a longer stoppage.
@irishmurph123 It is, I like the actual playing time in AF, its quick, fast, involves lighting fast reactions...... for about 3-8 seconds, then you have to wait another twenty seconds for anything to happen. They decide their plays during that time, who fakes, will the quarterback run, who could actually catch the ball.
You understand lineouts are not 50/50 contested so they don't restart the game very well as they take a lot of time to set up and can be readily used to bring a halt to momentum. The strategy from them invariably does not vary from the boring normality in the rest of the game.
6 -ared for a rush by the sideline, a maul, or if the ball is thrown out to the backs. Therefore, lineouts provide good flow. By any chance there is a penalty, the team awarded by the penalty can jump right into it. Just tap and go. In the lineout the team throwing in doesn't have to wait for the other team. You've given sources to some of your facts. Yet the sources you gave led to nowhere. One of the sites were broken down. One just led to a website with nothing by ads and IRB led to nowhere.
The ball is only in play for 34 mins. That's according to the IRB analysis of the 2007 RUWC. The rest of the time players were positioning themselves for set pieces, resetting the scrum walking around and kicking the ball into the crowd and the ref blowing his whistle for penalties etc, etc. The game has always had these delays nobody turns the clock off for them. Stopping the game for injuries does not come into the data.
Iestyn Harris, 11 days Brian Carney 46 days And many more. The fact kicking the ball on the full is considered skill in U and a penalty in RL is enough indication for any reasonable person. Not to mention the quoted opinions of many RU converts. I have already provided evidence of what it takes to be a top union player and how that wouldn't even get you counted in RL.
American football, 11 minutes of play in an 60 minute match. Rugby Union, 34 minutes of play in an 80 minute match. Rugby league, 69 minutes of play in an 80 minute match
@SeigeCJ It was definitely the best match, probably not quality wise but it was by far the most emotional, the most historic and the most memorable. Other than that, eh, can't think of another match I particularly enjoyed. Ireland/England was pretty good but it was too one sided to be great.
4...Just because you can kick to score in RU, does not mean that you do not have to score tries. Obviously, scoring tries in RU is necessary and is just as difficult in RL. Therefore,RU is just as difficult as RL. However, if it didn't cross your mind; both games require team work (physically, strategically),both games are equally as difficult because the majority of the aspects of the games are the same, and both games use many of the same strategies and skills. You cant argue that one is harder.
Google "IRB game analysis reports", it is on the IRB player welfare site. The info for the last Exile game is on the RFL site, google "Statistics indicate origin series outcome".
@1Jenksx Actually the 34 mins time was more than noted for the super 14's at 28 mins. 34 mins was noted in 6 Nations and tri nations competition. I shudder to think what the real times are if the Union referee's did not willfully ignore the large numbers of knock on's and forward passes to try and keep the game flowing.
My info bias comes from the IRB's own website declaring all the statistics from the RU major events. RL is the most popular club rugby and always has been. RL was taking 100,000 to Wembley when RU was playing in front of 1 man and his dog. Lets have a look at the most recent stats as reported in the League Express 3/6/13. The Aviva Premiership final, on subscription tv, ESPN 118,600 viewers. The last RL grand final, the equivalent match, on SKY 300,000 viewers. This is not freeview coverage.
@flamesguy11 Lucky mate, your national team has done quite well at this year's wrugby world cup. We have one of your players here in France, Jamie Cudmore. This guy is a real badass, ready to die (or more often, kill) for his team mates. Go on and start playing rugby, mate, rugby makes you feel ALIVE !!
I kind of find your info biast, if you live in Australia. Rugby league is way less popular in Canada, USA, Britain, New Zealand. Rugby league is popular in Australia mainly but you don't really have on the spot evidence to back up that it is more popular every where else.
Really. largest rugby crowd in Britain is for Rugby league. Which is no surprise as adults grow out of school sports and want to see something designed by sportsmen rather than little boys and their teachers. However some types who are easily impressed by anything slightly more physical than football like to aggrandise themselves by association. Particularly if it offers something for the untalented to do well at such as walking the around the pitch or kicking direct into touch. RU is for you.
That we actually ruck, it's cute when you can just run up the field and not care about support and the rest of the team. Such an individualist game, you don't need rugby players, just track stars should do it.
If you can't follow the site title you won't follow a 60 letter direct reference, thats why I don't give them. If carries and passes qualify as basic skills what is the huge deficit of them in Union being replaced with because RL has vastly superior amounts. I'll give you an example of the use of basic skills. The Challenge cup semi finals have just been held. These can be compared with the Heineken cup semi finals for this year. Results of the basic skill use in both codes as follows....
One game formalised the ruck so the ball carrier could pass the ball without lying on the floor and curling up waiting for someone to stamp on his head. The contest for the ball in this game takes place in the tackle and passing game not hidden under a pile of bodies. Skill are far more developed in RL as the game is based on running with the ball not kicking it to the opposition. I talk of facts and argument from them not personalities, those that have played both say RL is the superior code.
In 1909 the ARU opposed the status of the secretary of the NSW RL Mr. Arthur Miller as an amateur sportsman and did not recognise his R L. The Amateur Athletic Union of Australia which was the adjudicating body ruled that Miller was an amateur and not lost his status. The RFU and the Amateur Australian Federation was up in arms, opposed the AAU and threatened drastic steps against it. "RL footballers are considered outside the pale" and "The ARU must be protected against the RL"
The contest at the ruck from the breakdown is minimal, it is a staging to allow the ball to come out. Somewhere in the region of 95% predictable. Whatever physicality you think is going on it is only within 35 minutes of play, lots of time to rest. RU is not as difficult as RL, RL actually has expectations of the standard of play. Winning games from penalties is not regarded as playing the game. RU has yet to advance that far. Kicking penalties is easier than scoring tries.
@LeFaittard I'm not saying that we were the perfect team throughout. But If we are not very good, then how did we win the tournament? If we are so bad as you say that must mean the four teams that lost to us must be awful.
Did I say that? "Even when there is just as much running, tackling and passing in either game"....? In comparison to RL, RU passing, tackling and running skills and game play is far less important and proven less prevalent in matches. Running with the ball in hand some 4-5 times greater in RL, passing 2-3 times greater, tackling dependent on position 4 times the work load in RL. .
It must really annoy you that Rugby Union is one of the worlds most global sports and Rugby League is watched by a handful of northern men and their whippets Enjoy your run tackle run tackle run tackle kick. I'll be over here enjoying Union like the overwhelming majority of rugby fans
Rugby league, ~600 tackles per game. Each lasting 3-4 seconds = 30min - 40 mins stoppage. So 69 mins - 30 to 40 mins = Rugby League, 29-39 mins of play in an 80 minute match. Case closed.
3 has flaws like the rest of every sport. One of them may be, the standard play forcing players to depend extremely on their skill. Its so standard that in time it may become boring and it may depend more on reflexes based on experience rather than thinking out another play. Once again, both sports are nearly the same, both sports require the same skills, tactics, determination, will-power,etc. Arguing that one is superior is stubborn; no offence.
The hard aspects of RU being. The lineout, a restart to get the ball back in play, equivalent to a thrown in in Soccer. The scrum, another restart that fails to restart the game some 60% of the time. Kicking penalty goals the dominant scoring play in high grade internationals. I honestly don't see how you continue to say so little while writing so much.
Its not based off a 5 minute clip, but many years. This just happens to be another 5 minute clip that does not vary from the norm. Keep on clapping your 35 minutes.
You kick to score in RL but that is the minor way of gaining points not the foremost like in RU. Scoring tries is less likely in RU because all the player are not required to have a high standard of basic skills. RL requires more team work as we don't have skill less get out clauses such as the kick on the full, the mark and the touch down in goal and support play is as standard not a rarity. Too many RU converts have said RL is harder. Too many RL converts walk into international RU teams
I can walk into the opposition, fall to the floor, drop the ball and wait for a penalty to get some points or just kick it out on the full. Welcome to the world of unevolved Union.
So you're saying people who play Rugby Union can't pass, tackle, or run? Even when RU and RL have just as much running, tackling. and passing in either game. I can see where you're coming from with things like crashing the ball but that can easily be countered in RU. I seriously don't see why you take the minor differences between RU and RL so seriously.
2..."physicality" lasts all game. It doesn't run out at all. Rucks don't get any weaker or slower. You can win the game with a penalty kick if the other team breaks the rules. It doesn't mean that you kick the entire time. Maybe some teams do this, but this is just strategy. It makes the game flow better and gives it more aspects. Straight up standard games are simpler and depend too much on pure skill. RU involves strategy as well as skill. You cannot deny that RU players have much skill...
I can't stop watching this video it is amazing, this years six nations will be great!
@ckeloff I'm Italian and I was in Flaminio stadium: I could not stop crying, that was absolutely the best moment in Italian rugby history...

@flamesguy11 I am Canadian too man, I love it. Watch our team play, were not as good as the U.K and NZ but it cool seeing home play.

Its not based off a 5 minute clip, but many years. This just happens to be another 5 minute clip that does not vary from the norm. Keep on clapping your 35 minutes.
And by Britain I assume you mean England Scotland and Wales. And there is no way in hell that there are more fans for Rugby League in that area.
@warmup99 cause guettebarv is french.
