Wow wow that brought back loads and loads of memories I was young not care in the world no bills and mortgage up and down with my mates look at the cars Unbelievable lovely times and moments
Very enjoyable viewing. Not just for the buses but the cars and vans too. I did see a black mk4 Escort XR3i in the footage briefly. But seeing all the cars of my youth gave me great enjoyment. Thank you for sharing.
Look how different everything is! Memories flooding back of this period of time. The cars, the fashion, the hair, the buses! The 207 for me, good old Uxbridge Road.
I liked hearing the Routemaster putting along as soon as the video started. If you're curious what an AEC sounds like with an automatic transmission, here's a video of an ex Adelaide Swift I filmed on 2005. ua-cam.com/video/EGTyskH7pC8/v-deo.html
Thanks for the link.... The RM's of course had an auto position where they would drive themselves, although the Green Line coach ones and country Area RML's had this facility removed and had to drive as a semi-auto......
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Our Regal IVs and Leyland Worldmasters got that feature early on but got disconnected and turned to standard manual control as they started from second gear and Sydney's hilly terrain wasn't suited to it. I got to ride one in preservation that got this mode reinstated and it sounded like a semi auto being flat changed...an apparent no no in manual mode!

This brought back so many memories, I lived in Chiswick 1977-91 and was a regular user of the 237 and occasionally the 88 and 207.
Have you seen this Chiswick Works upload here? ua-cam.com/video/53h3URQ8rpM/v-deo.html
Another 80s special...

I used No. 19, 22 and 11 from Sloan Square to King's College London Chelsea Campus; those golden days.

My Mum remembers when she used to rode on those buses back in those days that she used to work in London.
When Shepherd's Bush had, character, was safe and fun! 🙏
All Routemasters need maximum likes 😊
Nice...I trained on the type featured at 00:20 and 5:50 before spending 1982 to the late 1980s driving these out of the now long closed FY garage!
Have you seen these vids of Finchley garage? ua-cam.com/video/RyBT4Hj1V4M/v-deo.html and here ua-cam.com/video/fCid1RBP7Es/v-deo.html

excellent footage. Was the old bus garage on Caxton Road? Were the 12 and 49 at the end using the Goldhawk Road garage?
