- Just outside Bangkok is the Jesada Technik Museum at Nakhon Chaisri. It houses a wonderfull collection of old motor vehicles, planes, bikes and old buses, including 3 London Routemasters (All RMLs). The one that appears to go out the most is RML 2707 still in London United livery. The day i visited in November 2013 RML 2707 was going into Bangkok to be an exhibit at a truck fair. The museum kindly allowed myself & a friend the chance to ride back into Bangkok on the bus rather than go back by train (a result as the train service is sporadic). This film is the result! That poster is wrong about the Routemaster it was AEC / Park Royal not Leyland all the RML Class had when new AV 590 engine's .
Quite correct, the poster has got it wrong. I imagine they've got their wires crossed somewhere after reading Leyland took over AEC. When vehicles still had tax disc's preserved Routemsters had ones that stated Leyland on them as their vehicle type. Only one RML ever carried a Leyland engine, RML 2295. Either fitted by mistake or it was the only engine available at the gargae and the bus was needed back on the road quickly. But it had been removed by the time it was transferred to Leyton in the early 1980s.
Where’s Bangkok Blakey ? 🤣🤣
