Miz and Justin Roberts made Chris out to be just a cruel bully. Chuck says he was a 50/50. I trust Chuck's opinion on who Chris was because they knew each other well back in WCW. Sure Eddie's passing kicked Chris' meanness to a higher gear, but Chuck saying he was never really all there speaks the biggest volumes.

It’s rare to find someone who point out his dark side. I heard about him raging when drunk. But I found it hard to believe so few noticed something was off, especially when there was at least one incident of domestic abuse - believe Nancy lived near a friend or relative that saw the bruise.
Also Chris Nowinski described his encounter with Benoit when he talked to the talent about head injuries - Benoit showed interest & seemed off or agitated when Nowinski followed up with him.

In my opinion, the kicker that really blows this wide open is the kid. You can envision drugs, alcohol, marital issues, a “dark side” with a sprinkle of CTE being complicit in killing your partner and subsequently yourself. But it’s impossible to envision anyone killing their own child in any truly cognitive state of mind. We will never know how much of this was Benoit the monster vs Benoit the brain damaged, but the most morally selfish and lowly act a father could commit is to kill his own child.
That makes me honestly believe he had to be out of his mind that weekend in June 2007. Along with the documented cases of CTE in NFL superstars who showed the same kind of cognitive decline, paranoia and eventual suicide in years past. I’m not making excuses for him, but I am saying I can’t envision anyone who loved their child “mercy killing” them or any other act of malice as Benoit may or may not have done.
I feel there will always be something more to this case than we will ever know. It feels like a movie about demonic possession honestly.

I agree with New Jack because not only him...but there's been thousands of drug addicts, Alcoholics, prescription pill addicts and people with multiple concussions have all existed in wrestling and killed hundreds.

ONLY 1 KILLED HIS WIFE AND CHILD, THEN KILLED HIMSELF.

I can completely understand, from a psychology standpoint, if someone's brain is messed up and they truly have no control over their behavior, like people with personality disorders, brain issues that cause rage disorders and outbursts, etc. That is the case for some people, it has been the case for me at times in the past. I completely understand having a verbal or physical outburst and then saying I'm sorry a minute later because I honestly had no control and it came out of nowhere as if I was possessed and not understanding what is wrong with me or why it happened. But there are treatments to help that not happen and that help me. But for some they allow themselves to get there. And that is preventable. He allowed his brain to get there, he abused meds, and probably steriods and it led to his killing people.

After watching dark side of the ring, it’s very clear that Chris was showing signs of Alzheimer’s and cte long before he passed, the paranoia Chris was dealing with, having to take different routes cause of fear of being followed, moving locations cause he thought people were after him. All signs of Alzheimer’s, working as a psw and seeing this in other people, it’s quite common. It was obvious to others that were around him in the months leading up to the incident, so I’ve always wondered why nobody stepped in and said “Chris this isn’t like you, you should see a mentalist” or something. I understand that folks will just come out and say that he killed his family without even hearing any argument. But the crime scene was tampered. They found alcohol bottles (wine) and beer cans and didn’t fingerprint them? Not to mention it’s said that alcohol was either found in very low doses or none at all when they did the autopsy?
My wife watched the documentary on him and after seeing it she says she thinks he did it. I don’t disagree with her assumption but explain to me why these stories of the timeline aren’t adding up. A neighbor said they saw Dave Taylor walk into Chris’s house the day before it happened, yet William Regal said that was false because Dave Taylor was on the road with him. Things just don’t add up. This whole scenario is an easy one to sweep under the rug and it’s not fair unless it’s proven without a shadow of a doubt that he did it. Oh by the way then he hung himself from his weight set, which wouldn’t have been enough to technically hang himself. All I’m saying is tie up loose ends (no pun intended) and prove that this wasn’t a setup.

Well and based on the dude's brain scan, there is absolutely no way he was showing ZERO signs of being fucked in the head before those murders. Just like so many other things in wrestling back then, shit got swept under the rug until it spilled out from under the rug and you couldn't hide it anymore. (Also see: Jimmy Snuka). I don't ever want to lay anything on anyone to say these murders could have been prevented, because we can't say entirely if it was his brain injuries that caused it, or maybe he was really that person period. And it wasn't up to the other performers, like Chuck, to get him help. It was people at the top that had to know he wasn't right. But he may have been able to get help with the brain stuff when he needed it if people didn't pretend he was okay when there is no way he was. And if he had gotten help, who knows? At least the attempt would have been there.
