    Running back through all Tyler's old stuff, i love being able to do that. I remember first coming across Tyler's vids a few years back and have been subd since. I loved the solo Cape trip in the Nav.

    I don't think I will ever get to a point where this is even an option but what I have learned with car camping is, it is much better to save and buy the very best quality you can than to buy something now to get by ONCE you've done whatever you're doing long enough to be sure that's what you want to do. The difference between equipment that's actually convenient and comfortable and not can be what makes or breaks your relationship with camping/ backpacking, etc...
    Edited to add: I keep a running list for camping things because I'm certain I'd forget. Things seem to change every outting.
    Edited to add one more time: I gave up on starting campfires "the right" way and opted for a blow torch. Absolutely phenomenal...

      @@jakeday4192 Hi Jake. If I'm packing up and fire pit is still hot, I then deal with the fire pit first. I handle it with welding gloves and depose of the coals. I then allow the fire pit to cool while I pack up the rest of the gear. Hence I can't say that it's ever been a problem.

    Great video, wow ypu look seriously packed, I wonder would a canopy give you more room in the vehicle ?, I travel long distances a lot for work in a 2017 Ranger PXII XLT with an ARB canopy and sometimes with the exception of my clothes bag my rule is if it dosnt fit in the ute " Canopy" it stays behind.
    Do you carry a fire extinguisher & 4x4 1st aid kit ?.
    You must be Drifter's favorite customer Mr Buck in Nth Qld would love you he's a huge drifter fan 🤗
    In the canopy I have a set of MSA drawers which eat a lot of gear including all my recovery gear, a 65L Waeco fridge, a secondary 130A/H Giant Aussie 12v battery, a kickarse 40amp DC/DC, a full tool kit including cordless tools & if I really go bush a 12v compressor, portable fold out solar panels, a sat phone & an Epirb.

    Nice video u have everything slotted in well. Does it get annoying or arduous having to remove everything and repack it all thetime from the tub? Im really suprised kayla hasnt made you go and buy one of those joolca hws shower units yet ahah.
    After going from a gu patrol to a dual cab dmax with the tub, and camped a few times using the tub setup. I cannot effin wait to get rid of the tub for a tray and canopy set up. Having to remove most the stuff in the tub just to get to something shits me so much, and also the packaway time gets annoying sometimes, especially when its wet and raining. Cant wait for my canopy, i will be burning the tub 😂😂

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  4 роки тому

      Thanks mate, I just leave most of the stuff in the tray all the time, the boxes and fridge etc live in there so don't need to take it in and out when I go camping.

    Whats your thoughts on a canopy. You may have addressed this previously but I can't remember. I know they have their positives and negatives overall but for a camp setup such as yours a canopy makes a lot of sense and would allow you not to have to carry/strap anything onto the roof which would save you some time and also fuel given there would be heaps less wind resistance on long trips especially at highway speeds.

    • @TylerThompson90
