- Teenagers Lucy and Jamie, find themselves in a whirlwind adventure as a mysterious old man approaches them with a job offer that they cannot refuse.... to be caretakers to a ruined old house that could potentially have some supernatural forces within it's realm. With his help, Lucy and Jamie must travel back in time to 1821.

It was good to see a modern adaptation that they haven’t forgotten the story of Mr Blunden.
A good remake, but you can’t take away from the magic of the original.
So happy they used the original music in the last scene of the film.

Never beat the original 72 version...Back then actors/actresses actually looked and sounded like they came from the Victorian era....
Why do they always have to "modernize" everything? Every time they do they ruin it; give me the original any day!
Gave this one a go but it's not in the same league as the original. The original had big, grand sets while this remake seemed to have rather small cgi settings. In the original, the flight of stairs in the house were grand, stately, whereas the remake just did everything smaller. Disappointing. And you can't replace Laurence Naismith, he was Mr Blunden.
The Ghosts was the first proper book I ever read. It's a shame that from the few seconds of this trailer I was disappointed. Then I saw the reviews from people who had actually seen it.. It seems it could have been made so much better. I don't normally listen to reviews, but this story means so much to me, I think I'd be too upset to watch it!

Ruined our Christmas Eve. Was absolutely rubbish. Awful Casting and no atmosphere whatsoever. Watch the original and not this pile of rubbish.
Sometimes there’s just no point in remaking a film
What's this thing? Keep in mind that adaptations or remakes, especially done between 2020 and today are true sh.. Original is original, and movies made decades ago have quality, deepness, meaning, and arerely special. Not like those made today!

How does that have anything to do with this ? What because there’s black people in it ? If that bothers you there’s no point in watching anything on television to be honest.
@@mavijama3259 because I'm fed up with remakes made just so black people can have a job. Many agree with me. Nothing wrong with the original except there were no blacks in it which was typical of the period. If it upsets you so much why come on this channel.

low budget...and FUNNY with teetyh showing
the kids acting all seemed a bit 'not good'. Shame as I love the original and google searches are now going to show results for this unwanted update.
i wouldn't say unwanted update as i wanted this film to be updated but not like this with a shoe string of a budget. This is one of those films that could of been done well if it was in the right hands and with a much much more film styled budget and top actors with charm and outstanding costumes for the Victorian day with the updated original music score
