I collect these myself, read them when I was younger. Now it’s more a case of owning them for the artwork and nostalgia- put simply they’re really nice things to have. Just got Ian’s latest, someday I hope to attempt them again without cheating. (It took me over 20 attempts to get through Citadel of Chaos).
I had them new back in the 80's then drifted away as life took over. Have gone back in the past few years to pick up some of the newer ones. Nice to see them again.
Only one I ever read was beneath nightmare castle, and I had completely forgotten it was fighting fantasy 😅. Thanks for bringing back great memories. I will be looking forward to the reviews
Hi Neville, congrats on the book haul. The FF series have several cover variants over the years. Happy to share more info on its history next time. The unnumbered spine had a short run up to book 39. Midnight Rogue is number 29 and Fangs of Fury is number 39. All the best in completing your collection!
They look great! I'd be interested in your play throughs/read throughs of them 😃 I was lucky enough to get everything up to around 44 as a kid (many through scouring charity shops!), and got the rest in the mid 2000s before they got incredibly expensive.
Bravo mate, enjoyed this. Nothing more exciting than receiving a collection of green spines! Only thing you didn't disclose was how much these copies cost you in today's market, which would have been interesting.
Hi Nev, great haul, as always, I can almost smell the moldy perfume through my tv-screen. Never heard of this series before. Please tell us more about the What, Why, When & How and such of this series.
Have you heard of choose your own adventure books? These are like those but with dice and very lite d&d type mechanics. I’ll probably do an intro video to the series before I start on the first book
Impressive collection - I only have 1-13 in UK numbering, which is different to US numbering apparently. I'm reliably informed that Starship Traveller is worse than Sky Lord, and I hope you're planning to play the books (note the keywords, etc) rather than just read them!
Challenge accepted! I generally just read through every path but I think for this series I’ll have one good crack at playing properly before reading the whole thing. And yeah Starship Traveller is pretty bad!
Oh! My Brit bros! This Yank is SO jealous! We never, ever see FFs…even if we’re lucky to have a local used book store (pretty much completely disappearing now)…. If I wish a passable, green spine….im gonna pay around about $45 for a single one on eBay here in the States. Yes, really.

I’m still deciding on whether I give it just one good go before reading every option or give them a few tries. Happy collecting!
@@NevsBookChannel Only missing two of the sci-fi ones, which were low on my priority list. (But some tatty ones are a good idea for reading copies).
@@DavidSmith-fm5lx wow, you have all the 50’s?
@@NevsBookChannel yes- although my curse of the mummy is the wizard reprint.
Very nice...I would love to read through all these!
Thanks, I think you should!

They’re just so fun! I’m just about to start reading book 1. Thanks for commenting!

You’re welcome! They’re super fun

Ah yes, 39! I actually found my copy of 40. It had fallen down the side of the sofa when I took them all off my shelf!

Thanks! Yeah, the prices are getting pretty insane now. Have you played all those 44?
@@NevsBookChannel i think so, yeah! But some not for 30+ years 😂
@@NevsBookChannel I've still got the maps I made as a kid, some from before I could write joined up ✍️
@@alistairgreer that’s fantastic! I may have to do some digging to see if I have any
Looking forward to your series review
Should be soon. I just played through Firetop Mountain!

I was so excited when the box arrived! It was a fair price I think.

@@NevsBookChannel No, this whole concept is not familiar to me, but then again I didn't grow up with d&d. Sounds interesting, though.
@@DutchGreyBeard Choose your own adventure books were very popular in the 80’s before computer graphics got more fancy

Revenge of the vampire is worth lots of money!
It sure is! Though my copy is ex-library and a bit sad in condition
Pretty awesome haul!
Thanks!

Yikes! Well they’re getting rarer and rarer here as well
