Ryan you are extremely talented and well spoken! It is a pleasure to listen to your instructions because of your way with words and lack of hesitation.
It's been 2 years. I followed your advices about paintings I even learned color mixing from you. I painted 3paintings that you painted. The moonlit was my first painting, The Cherry Blossoms along the river was my second and the last was the Ocean. I stopped painting coz I was a Broke Artist😂 now I'm ready to paint again thanks to your videos💕
Thank you. I was getting too influenced by the paint pouring abstract painters. Thank you for bringing me back. Your involved explanations as you go is what I need so desperately. TU, TU, TU!!!
I love this painting. The tree is beautiful! Thank you for the lesson...so informative! Love the way you explain each step of the painting and the reason for it.
Very nice! I have never heard of an angel oak tree. Going to do some research and do this painting. Thank you for doing these 10 minute paintings. I hope you know how helpful they are to the novice painters out here!
Nancy, they are actually called Live Oaks, live all across the southern region of Us, the actual Angel Oak is a huge ancient Live Oak that lives in Charleston SC, you should look it up. It's magnificent..
Hello Rayan, I am a beginner in painting and i must say you're 10 minute vids are extremely helpful and i learned a Ton from u in such a short time, i would like to ask you maybe later in the future could you make a more advanced version of this? Lets say like a 15 minute or 20minute video, thank you again for ur amazing tutorials :)
LOVE the tree. I'm going to incorporate it into a piece I'm currently working on. My painting is being done solely with burnt umber, titanium white, ivory black acryllics and a light yellowish tan colour of wall paint I had.
I love watching your tutorials. You explain things so clearly and it always turns out awesome. I'm learning so many things from you. thank you very, very much!
I love this kind of videos, thank you so so much, it really helps a lot to see someone drawing, and this is perfect, because I don't get bored after 10 minutes like I usually do when I watch people draw :D
The Angel Oak Tree is a tree located in South Carolina. It got it's name because it was said that the spirits of people who were enslaved seen around the tree because some were hanged on that very same tree.
Where was this video a month ago!? -.- lol just kidding. Well sorta lol this video answered so many questions I wasn't sure how to word. I'm so excited to try this with my new paints. (Finally got my hands on paints you use.)Thank you! ^.^
I have been following your videos. I have done my very best work since finding your videos. My nephew wants a dinosaur picture. Could you please do a scene with dinosaurs .
I occasionally incorporate small animals and am working on some silhouette pieces. With that said incorporating them can be quite difficult in 10 minutes so it's quite seldom.
Nice 10 minute painting...but there's only one thing that keeps bothering me. You keep saying the light is coming from the left, but the sky in the background looks like a setting sun. Wouldn't the light be coming on the back side of the tree? I know that would be hard to highlight since it's behind the tree, but it just looked odd to me compared to what you say! Nice painting again!!
The sun is setting outside the frame on the left hand side of the tree. This is also why the left side of the sky is slightly lighter than the right side of the sky. It is very subtle, as some sunsets are :)

So blending acrylics on a really small canvas is easier. If you were to do this on a larger scale do you recommend flow aid?
