i was driving in Eldorado Marsh in WI on thursday during the snow and there was a live goose right next to the road just sitting there. First i thought it had been wounded but i suspect it might be due to the bird flu. it flew but then went down after about 100 yards.
As a wildlife photographer, birder, outdoor enthusiast, conservationist, I agree with you. The bird count at the death zone was low today. Maybe most have found better locales to stay. I can hope!
Thank you for keeping us informed on this sad story. Domesticated birds in the area will also be at risk.
You are correct. We have backyard flocks and commercial production not far from Sweet Marsh. Let's hope none are impacted.
I heard up in Manitowoc WI there was a concentration of Canada geese at a area waterhole and numerous dead geese were observed.
Not good. More will likely go down

Could’ve been a wounded bird during the hunting season…
I am watching a couple ducks do the same. Not sure, but have an idea why
