It helps to direct the eyes and tell a story. Might not suit all pictures but helps alot

What beginners are hating this rule? I had no idea.
But conversely a lot of newbies kept using the rule as a crutch. They didn't really grow beyond it.
id say its the other way around.
Before you allow yourself to break the rules you have to fully understand what the rules are and why they are there in the first place... Until then - just stick with them.
