Ep3. Adding Oscar Fish And Tank Mates To Planted Aquarium

- My 6 feet planted aquarium has been setup for Tiger Oscar fish and tank has been completely cycled. It is now time to add Oscar fish and few colorful tank mates to the tank. I have added a tiger Oscar, Albino tiger Oscar, Blood-red parrot cichlid and few clown loaches to the aquarium. Tiger Oscars are around 12cm and are very energetic fish. Blood parrot is around 6cm and clown loaches are from 8 to 10cm. All the fish are getting along well and I have not seen any aggression in the tank.
2400LPH canister filter is providing filtration to my planted Oscar aquarium. I have also added an internal filter for added filtration. I have changed the output of canister filter and attached a wave deflector to make it a wave maker. 360 degree rotation creates nice waves and helps in surface agitation, oxygenation and air exchange. I hope you will enjoy that short footage in the video.
Mia, a pure bred Siberian husky is featuring in this video. She enjoys walking and is very friendly, interactive and loyal pet.

YaY…. what a nice family in there mate….parrot and clowns too 😀😀❤️❤️👍👍
Thanks mate
Nice brother, I also use the dry the floor with a towel using your foot technique hahaha
Always worried about the floor board mate, foot technique is the best, saves my back lol
Man that black substrate really makes the fish colors pop.... I have these exact fish in the same tank.
Thanks mate, tank looks lot cleaner too
Wow beautiful big cycled tank, the water is so clear. Nice additions of new fishes mate, and cool footage too of you picking the fishes up from the LFS.
Thanks Genie, just the tiger oscar put on some resistance but he is happy as in the new tank.
@@Fishaholic great to hear

Thank you David, glad you like the video and Mia is no doubt very beautiful.
very nice like 2
Thank you and have a good weekend
Oscar do not like any other fish in the tank. It's nice to see tank mates.
Thank you Zeeshan, fingers crossed they will all get along well when they grow big.
amazing series!
Thank you Alexander, appreciate it mate
much awaited.. 😂
but you must also get 1 Red Spotted Severum, that will also make a great Oscar tankmate along with your parrot fish..
and you'll also love it..
I know Asad, one of the fish store took deposit on Oscar but didn't even order any. I was bit frustrated when I found out. Hope you like this video.
@@Fishaholic
surely I did... but try to get a Severum shortly, so that they all can gel up from their childhood.. 😂
Happy Friday my friend
Your little friend ZanyZara

Thank you, appreciate it
What are you using to take care of the plants? Any CO2, what kinds of ferts, lighting etc?
Hi Tyler, these are low maintenance plants. I don't have any co2 or fetz. Tank is using a non branded aquarium lighting. So far the growth has been slow but very steady.
@@Fishaholic Cool I have several high tech tanks but I am hardscaping a 2m tank with south Americans and so low tech with easy plants seems the way to go. Just curious how it works because since I started with plants I have never done low tech so its uncharted territory for me haha. Thanks!
Hi Tyler, i have only kept Javafern, Amazon sword, Anubias and crypt in the tank. They just grow on their own. Start is slow, few leaves will turn brown but once they take off then hard to stop. Not sure how these plants will respond to CO2 and fertiliser, I guess it will do more good though.
@@Fishaholic Ya apparently they just grow faster but are still by and large slow growers. Thanks this is building my confidence because I really cant afford the time investment for another high tech tank so this next on is gunna be low maintenance for sure. I got totally sold by my Chinese rock supplier (Canadian living in China BTW) on 1000 pounds of rock to hardscape. I dunno what I was thinking because this is WAY too much rock hahah. I just spent 4 hours washing and loading them and my hands are cracked and bleeding now. Going to have to wait a few days before I can do the hardscape now. Final note... can u believe he actually tried to sell me a full metric ton of rocks for my 850 liter haha.
👍👍🤩🤩🤩
Thank you
Total cost of the fish tank??
Almost AUD 2000
We have Oscars in the US for less than 10 dollars, that's crazy
Hi, which country are you from? Why does 2 Oscars cost $100?!
Hi Kiran, Melbourne, Australia. How much do they cost in your country
Cost me 25 bucks each for a pair about 4 inches each
@@Fishaholic Bruh I’m from Singapore. U can get small Oscars here for like 4 bucks and big ones range from 10 to 20 Singapore dollars depending on the size. Insane price difference man
Hi Kiran, price difference is massive for sure. AUD $15 is just for a tiny Oscar over here
@@Fishaholic Yeah bro haha. We can probably start an import export and be rich LOL
Won't the oscar eat the clown loaches
Mine were okay, got along well in the tank. Clown loaches were hiding or swimming at the bottom majority of time. There was some aggression during feeding time though
nice video, music not so good though lol
Thank you for the feedback Ian, appreciate it mate
Why did the dude put his hand over the net like the fish was gonna jump out like a frog?
Thats right Connor, they are likely to jump out when stressed
HELLO........WHERE DID YOU GET THE MINI FILTER IT WAS SI COOL
HOW CAN I GET ONE?
PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
Hello, I bought it on Amazon a while back
