Using this to graph vectors in Calc 2, appreciate the help, I use your videos all the time on saving time figuring out the TI-Nspire CX CAS. Much appreciated
I'm not sure if you have the one with the touchpad, but if you do, you can mouse over the graph, hit ctrl+center button, and it will activate a grab, and then you can just mouse around on the track pad to rotate it a lot faster than just clicking the arrow keys a bunch of times.
Very nice calculator, I just bought it today, it's a lot better than my TI 84+ I used before on school. This one is also accepted at exams so it's way better :-) Thanks for this vid i'll try this
Been trying to decide if this is a worthy purchase for school (physics to be astrophysics major) and by golly, I think this video convinced me it would be a useful tool. Thanks!
It quick add a page you can just click ctrl then doc :) and also one you have the graph you can so hit A and it will auto rotate for you and you and go up/down while it's going :)
Hi folks. I have a little question that probably another ones have... Someone knows if it's possible to draw vector in graphics? Vectors or just points in the Cartesian plane... I discovered how I can calculate the vectors... But I would like to draw it...
Thanks for the video. Is there a way to enter a 3d equation, including z, like 2x+3y+4z. I'm studying solutions of equations and this would be helpful to graph 2, 3, etc variable equations. Thanks. Jerry Shepherd
this calculator is awesome for my cal 3 class linear algebra class physics and engineering class (: especially after finding out about this 3d graphing
Yeah, but unfortunately all I've been able to do is graph equations in terms of z. Right now I'm doing mostly vectors so it'd be nice to visually see where planes intersect. Also I've been give a lot of hyperboloids and other such shapes in other forms other than f(x,y).

Hello, can you please help me? I got my handheld but when I click the view option, the 3d graph is not available. Any idea how can I fix it? I have a 3.0 version.
I always update to the newest version, using ti.com. As a last option call 1800ticares (seriously) they will help up with step-by-step support. I feel bad that I cannot help more. It is difficult with seeing your calculator. Please consider calling the support line. let me know what happens,
If you can please write step by step commands that will be very helpful. I showed your videos to my students especially weak students. Everyone loved 🥰 it.
Is there a possibillity to make the plot more smooth? Cause as you can see in my profile picture, I plotted sth but there are unfortunately many edges.
So I ran this on my TI-Nspire CAS app and got a different image for the second function z2(x,y)=sin(x)+y2. Your image has some waves at the bottom of the image but mine shows flat at the bottom. Why is that?
Luis, I'm wondering if our "windows are set the same" goto home then document setting then mess around with different window settings. Let me know. I'm interested. CHEERS
So I went to the Graphs and Geometry settings. I thought maybe I had made some changes so I tapped on the Restore [settings] button and one thing I noticed that changed is that it went back to radians. That made it look like yours. Very interesting difference. Thanks!
+Desi Badillo you can go to 3d graphing. from the graph screen hit view and check 3d, or you could try to go to menu equation. You only have two variables so your graph will not appear 3d.
unfortunately CAS has all the bells and whistles. The good news is you can get an older CAS really cheap, update the OS and it will do all the functions of the CAS CX Keep me posted Gewoonwijnand
Mingxiang Guan Messing around with the calculator in 3D Graphing, I’ve noticed that there doesn’t seem to be a way to graph that with y= whatever. Since it’s Z1 (x,y) = (your equation) you can’t do y=. Hope this helps and I’m sorry I couldn’t of be more help.
I wish you can rotate right away instead of going to actions and selecting the rotating option. This wastes time and is annoying to a degree. Why wouldn't someone want to rotate a 3d graph the moment they graph it?
As a student this calculator helped me so much in my vector calculus course, worth its weight in gold!
thanks for helping me using my calculator, my quantum thermodynamics class is going to be a piece of cake now.

I got an ad for the ti-84 before watching this video.
+Colin McKenna That calculator is really good, the Ti-Nspire CAS is BEST

To rotate you can also just press the letter (r). Just a quick tip
Very cool. I didn't know how to do this.
You know you can use the cursor click it a few times on the graph and it will allow you to move the box.
Seriously learning something everyday!! thanx
I totally agree. I don't think there is a better out there
You knows a lot about this stuff. GREAT WORK!! CHEERS
Very useful when doing rotations.
send me anything you figure out. THANKS
This was excellent for me, thank you.

Thanks so much. Just started Calculus 3, and did not yet know how to plot 3D graphs.
Melanie the world needs great mathmeticians sounds like your one of them. CL
yes it does when your in the 3d graph click menu, 3d graph entry/edit and your options then are function and parametric

you're gonna love it. It is a monster!!!!!!!
will be playing with this in my multi-variable class Calc4

I agree. it would be better to have to stop the rotation than start it. I'll mention it!!
Lopes736 I like the CAS CX. They even give you free OS upgrades. Sevice dept at Texas Instruments is great
Thanks sir you really did help me!!!!!!!
Thanks for choosing my video. Glad to help
Would like to graph the planes x=2 and y=4.
Also, would like to be able to find intersection of 2 3D graphs.
can I graph more than two variable? like say, x^2+y^3-z^2=f(x,y,z)??
yes, go to menu it should be there in options somewhere. Let me know if you need help
Good question. I'll have to try. If you figure it out first let me know
I think the picture is more clear this way. I'll try it the other way!
It can also do parametric
give me a few days. I would like to explore that math with the cas. If you have any insight feel free to share! CHEERS
Hey what about multiple equations to this, for instance
y= 9-x^2-z^2 y=0
yes
@TheMattatwest
No, they only offer functions in 3d.
Yes it should work.

@@dr.muhammadayyubkhan4523 I promise to do my best. I have been away finishing my doctorate and have made only about 100 videos in the past year.
You can do the same thing on the original TI-Nspire (no CAS, no CX) just in black and white.
I have the same question. Have you figured it out?
Will this work on just a regular cx? Without the CAS?
i am sorry i cannot find it on your channel, can you post a link up here?
I like x^4- y^2 better than the first one but they are all cool.
Hoping for an update on new OS
love calclus III Best of luck!!!!
Correction. I just can't graph equations like z=cos(xy) Strangely z=cos(xyln(y)) works
+Redice you may have to separate x and y with a multiplication sign. CAS sometimes reads xy as a distinct variable
Hi! Is it possible to graph a vertical plane? like x=1 or y=3? I don't know how to convert those into z(x,y)
Yes go from graphing to menu find equations go to line and select x=c. Fill in your value for c
charlie Lindelof but how do you actually do it? i can change it in 2D but not in 3d
Not positive.. Gives me something to figure...good, talk soon
does this also work on the TI Nspire CX without CAS? The CAS isn't allowed ;(
Thanks
Mine came out in blue. Why was the color different than yours?
can you do reiman sums with two variables ? I used to use the spread sheet to do one variable
Hi I have the CX CAS but how do I do that on the handheld? This is the desktop version.
+Victor Martinez The directions are the same. The desktop in a handheld simulator
I don't see why not... I have to try it..give me a few days
Is there a way to do 3-d parametric graphing?
Can you trace along x or y axis in 3D graphing -I just see z axis tracing
Can you graph x,y z functions ie. x^2+4y^2 +9z^2=1
Is there a possibillity to make the plot more smooth?

Is there a way to find max and min of a 3d graph?
Can you please let me know how I would graph something this is not a function of only (x,y) such as y^2 + z = 4.
+Desi Badillo you can go to 3d graphing. from the graph screen hit view and check 3d, or you could try to go to menu equation. You only have two variables so your graph will not appear 3d.
+Desi Badillo z = f(x,y) it is the same thing. so you solve for z. z = 4-y^2 is the same as f(x,y) = 4-y^2
Thank you all for the feedback.
+charlie Lindelof "x" would have a value of zero so he does, its just "x" is zero
Voyage200 or TI-Nspire CX CAS

where online ? is it the CAS version?
Is there a way to enter an equation with z² instead of z ?
And when you just graph an equation in 2D, is there a way to graph something like x=3 ?
