Basically everything is book before movies like Frozen that was loosely based off The Snow Queen from 1845. The thing is though…Disney been trying to make Frozen since the 40s it was Walt Disney himself who wanted to make the movie. So I guess it’s a good thing it bank when it came out Disney been cooking on it for over 80 years
I read the books and yeah they changed a lot but I liked them both. instead of astrid they had kamikaze, fishlegs was skinny, snotlout was hiccups cousin and they actually killed him off and hiccup had 2 dragons one being windwalker who he rid around on. but the movies were still good.
The Princess Bride movie is about a boy being read the story by his dad, while the book focuses on the boy when he grows up realizing that the book is very long and has him basically summarize the book without as many unnecessary details and dialogue
RPO was a great book and a great movie but they're so different to the point that it's almost a totally different story just with similar plot points. They were good in their own ways but I'm glad they changed the references to fit the movie
The bad guys books are incredibly different from the movie, the movie being a grounded heist/criminal film meanwhile the books are absolutely insane. Zombie kittens, space, time travel, superpowers, and aliens. It was crazy
The best part about that is that the movies interpret them as dangerous, money-hungry criminals while the books show them as these losers who try to do good but end up effing it up.
@@Shockwave_987 yeah I noticed how different the personalities were, in the books wolf was obsessed with wanting to become a good guy and was nothing like the smooth criminal we saw in the movie. Kinda glad they didn’t keep that marmalade alien twist in the movie

Watchmen: Two words, Interdimentional squid. Also the whole message of the comic was to not glorify violence or superheroes but thats exactly what the movie did. Lord of the Rings. While it is mostly faithful, a lot was changed. Aragon always wanted to be king in the books and could also see the future (sort of) Tom Bombadil was completely left out and the eye of Sauron was his actual eye, not the tower. Sauron couldn't tell exactly where you were if you put on the ring, that was made up for the movie. One of the biggest is the ghost army. In the books, the ghosts couldn't touch anyone. Despite looking threatening, they might as well have been an illusion. Its why they weren't in the final battle. Theres probably a bunch more ive forgotten but still, the movies are great but the books are just a bit better in my opinion.
Hear me out... The Wild Robot should be on this list, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MOVIE WITH ALL I HAVE, But there were a lot of other parts of the book that was left out
@davidraymond7814 they didn't change lotr that extensively, obviously large songs and sections of the book that would take additional hours of screen time were removed as they just would not work well in movies, frodo trusting gollum over Sam and also boromir and faramir being absolute jerks were annoying changes, but lotr is definitely one of the best book adoptions ever
The books are not good. If the movies were exactly like the books, they would have been just generic dumb kids movies but I'm so glad the movies are dark and mature.
@@vonnstevens2502 I don't like the characters, the way the dragons were portrayed, and the stories are just not interesting. The movies handled the story a lot better. And I already mentioned that if the movies stay true to the books, they would just be dumb kids movies. I actually forgot a lot about it since I haven't read it in years. I just remember not liking it.
The Where the wild things are movie is a amazing movie but it is SO different from the book 📚 (if you seen the movie and read the book you know what I mean)
"It would be interesting to have an actual adaptation of the books themselves." Nope, they'd rather just do live action remakes with none of the charm of the animated films, while still leaving the books never properly adapted.
He explained the books plot really badly, dragons aren't smaller then humans it's just because he is a child dragon in the book. Also the last couple books are so much darker then the films
dude the jurrasic park novels were straight up horror
The old how to train your dragons were my whole childhood
Same bro
Naw I had no idea any of these were books beside Dune 💀💀💀
I know about dune, and harry potter
Not even Harry Potter???
@@Johnfkennedy321 yeah I knew about Harry Potter. Tbh I made the comment right before he showed up

Less than perfect movie adaptations: ❌
Movies adaptions that are way different than the book: ✅
Well if it’s not the same as the book it’s not perfect even if the movies good
@@vetzmovies Yea but, I thought you were talking about movies that aren’t perfect from a quaitly perspective
1:01 deviating from the source material is sometimes a good thing as as long as you know what you’re doing I mean, look at the boys
I love the books, and movies equally

And not to forget: ALVIN THE TREACHEROUS!!!!!!!!!
Scott Pilgrim vs the world is a good example of this they left a ton of stuff out of the movie
The Princess Bride movie is about a boy being read the story by his dad, while the book focuses on the boy when he grows up realizing that the book is very long and has him basically summarize the book without as many unnecessary details and dialogue

I was just reading jarrasic park, and deaths are almost comedic in the movie while in the book I'm in utter shock at how brutal the deaths are

The ready player one book was so good and way darker than the movie
How to train your dragons book’s main villain is: Big Boobied Bertha 💀💀💀
Watchmen: Two words, Interdimentional squid. Also the whole message of the comic was to not glorify violence or superheroes but thats exactly what the movie did.

We gotta get captain underpants in a party 3
I had no fucking idea Forrest gump and how to train your dragon were books
Ngl the how to train your dragon movies are objectively better than the movies
what
Yeah the last couple books are so much better
Blasted, Impound and Christ Jones
The vampire diaries novels and the live action series
I got another bad one, the Eragon Moive.
Hear me out... The Wild Robot should be on this list, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MOVIE WITH ALL I HAVE, But there were a lot of other parts of the book that was left out
I will still be waiting for hunger games
Astrid was in the HTTYD books. Camicazi in the books is Astrid in the movies. Just a name change
It doesn’t matter that they changed from the book, it matters if they’re good
I WANTED TO DIE WHEN I SAW THE HTTTD MOVIE 😭😭😭
I think they cut the house elves part because they didn't know how important dobby would be during the deathly hallows
The Lynch Dune movie missed the point of the book and made it into the exact kind of story it was criticising in the book
Maybe toothless dancing is from the books
forrest gump has a book damn!!!!?????
The shining
Don’t forget about the giver, even though the book was that good to begin with
Jurassic Park books are horrific 💀
I will never forgive The Goblet of Fire for leaving out Ludo Bagman
A better example is for the meme is Stephen kings it because if you know, you know
The dune movie is objectively more faithful to the book than the new movies
The hobbit
And LOTR

same here
That's crazy, I thought it was common to read them as a kid

What's the most perfect book-to-movie adaptation?
Lord of the rings
Artemis fowl
Bad movie
Great books
Adaptation that makes me commit self unaliving
Artemis Fowl was another good book series that Disney ruined with a live-action adaptation
Artemis fowl, the books, were pretty slow and dull sometimes

Please please make a part tree and talk about series of unfortunate events the show it was really good, but the movie was pretty bad
Hi
When i seen dune i got scared because all this dude does is hate ok good movies
Maze runner. I read the book first. Movie sucks besides the griever redesign.

Ok but is it just me or does the How To Train Your Dragon book sound really lame? The plot sounds way more cliche and way less cool.
