Excellent video. You have a great teaching voice, and your instructions are very clear. I was about to take a class to learn this technique. You just saved me my grocery money!
Dear Amy, I saw your comment and it really interested me because I always stretch my silk cord out before making something with it, like a knotted pearl necklace for example. I've found that the best way to stretch the silk is to wet it first and then tie a small weight to it and hang the silk cord from a doorknob or similar. Then you just leave it to stretch overnight and, by morning, it will be totally straight and stretched. This way the silk won't stretch after you've made a necklace with it. If you don't want to wet the silk, you can straighten it out with a hair straightener and still stretch it from a doorknob. It works really well.
@@amandajones6481 thanks for the advice. I don’t think it would make that much of a difference on a wrap bracelet, but a necklace or such it could. I have an opera length pearl necklace in my idea box, so this will be a great idea with that.
Great Video and beautiful wrap! Love those colors! Your so easy to follow and understand. This is my first attempt at making a leather wrap bracelet, and I was looking for a video to help me. Scrolling thru and yours caught my eye and it's the only video I'll prolly need. Keep up the good work!
I worked with a 5-foot length of leather cord and a 79-inch spool of silk cord. You can find all of the supplies and instructions here: artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/griffin-bead-cord-silk-no7-075mm-amber/
Just some feedback, you should of did the entire bracelet for us It sucked to get all the way to the end of the video for you to verbally tell us how to do it. We come to watch you do beautiful bracelet.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. The technique for finishing the bracelet is similar to starting the bracelet @5:21. If you need further help, we do have text instructions here: artbeads.com/turquoise-leather-wrap-bracelet-tierracast-gemstones/ and a couple more videos for making wrap bracelets: artbeads.com/video-tutorials/wrapped-cord-bracelet-techniques-tierracast-video/ artbeads.com/video-tutorials/wrapped-cord-bracelet-tierracast-video/
@@chriscanter1097 Yes, just a simple knot to attach the griffin cord close to the knot in the leather. Then, I wrap the silk around the leather cords and the knot I just created a couple times and then pass the needle of the silk under the wraps and pull tight. I hope this helps!

I didn’t think about stretching the griffin silk out the kinks. That’s a great tip. Thanks Becky
So glad you found that helpful, Amy. I find it really helps with the tension and wrapping the cords.

Just wondering what size were your beads?
Great quick tutorial/refresher! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed, Suzy! Thanks for watching!
Great idea to use griffin cord. Thank you. I was using fireline, and the griffin cord is a great idea.

Great Video. Thank you
Thank you so much for watching, Sophia!
I couldn't see what size beads you used.
Could you please tell me how to gauge how much of each material I’d need to make this?
Thank you ❤🌷⚘️🌷⚘️🌷⚘️🌷
How did you attach the button on the 3mm wrapped cord? Do I need a button with a 3mm hole? Thank you and enjoyed the video.
Yes, the button has a loop or shank wide enough to accommodate the leather. I simple add the leather to the loop and knotted.
I use a Larkshead knot which also gives you a nice start for the bead spacing in between the leather.
Thanks
Anyone know the length of cord needed? I've yet to watch a tutorial where they don't include this information.

@@ArtbeadsVideos Thanks 🙏🏻
I could not see your hands starting from the griffin cord so did not catch how you tied the cord.
Looks like a single over hand knot to start, is that correct?
