      Ben, it's the mixture of extremely professional cinematography and photography along your personality that has lead to your success! You'll be surprised how excited a lot of people (including me) are for this extra long episode! Sometimes just having a chat is much more rewarding and much easier than making amazing musical interludes in every vlog!
      In my videos i've been having more chats and the videos are getting slightly longer, but i'm still caught up on making the perfect video every time, which is a good thing and a bad thing for vloggers haha.
      Keep up the good work and I hope i'll get to meet you one day dude! Take care mate!

    Two thumbs up for you Ben for tackling thru this chat the real threat that our planet is facing right now. I can't help but agree with you that before anyone say that all of these is bullshit, they should first watch the documentary Before The Flood. It's been showing up on suggested videos here in youtube for more or less a week now. Good chat!

    I'm really happy you watched Before the Flood and talked about global warming. I really hope people take the initiative to make some changes in their lives. I've become a vegetarian because of it. Everyone can just reduce the amount of meat they eat. Instead of eating meat every day or even twice a day, why not just have it once a week? It would be a massive reduction in emissions globally.

    Most of us like to think and act globally, but individualism gets in the way, because that is what we deal with daily, Utopia is different for everyone. So many different opinions on so many subjects. We are trying to get at the core of what makes us similar, but respecting the differences.

      Mr Ben Brown This Just In! The new American President will be placing an Alpaca Farm in the Rose Garden, a water slide "fuh the Grandkids" from the new 5th story, winding down to the grond at the West Wing. And a "tremendously, fantastically great spa, your not gonna believe!!!.... Optional rub n tugs for an extra $5000 in the liquid nitrogen tanks", OK?!?.

    • @instantsiv

      Phoebe Grigor I watched it up until the point the arrogant Indian lady was angry at the U.S. India is the largest importer of palm oil... Asia consumes more palm oil than the U.S. and whole of Europe combined. Palm oil comes from the rain forest they burned down for palm oil production. Also burning the rain forests introduced more co2 into the atmosphere than the whole U.S. economy. The facts don't add up. It doesn't make sense to tax me when Indians are the largest consumers of palm oil grown from burned down rain forests which polluted exponentially more than the whole U.S. economy.

    • @PhoebeGrigor
      @PhoebeGrigor 8 років тому

      instantsiv The point of including that was to show that not all of the blame can be pinned onto a single country or society - everyone has the right to have a say, and that was what she thought. You don't have to believe it or agree with her.

    • @instantsiv
      @instantsiv 8 років тому +2

      Phoebe Grigor Wrong. I just watched it again and she specifically talked about climate negotiations. She said Americans are responsible for all the climate change because of our lifestyle. She sees renewables as not the answer and that the living standard of the US needs to be on parity with India(which uses cow patties as cooking fuel). Again India is the largest importer of palm oil. Indians are responsible for the destruction of rain forests, which released more co2 into the atmosphere than the whole us economy. Asia consumes more palm oil than the US and whole of Europe combined. With those facts why tax me when India destroyed the rain forests and released more co2 into the atmosphere so that they can get cheap palm oil??? *DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!?!* Why should I have to burn cow patties to cook food??? What kind of negotiations is that? It's all a farce.

    I just pulled my first UA-cam paycheck and it felt great. Not that it was much money, but it was so real for me. Like yeah, my full time day-career is work, but this is passion. My life, blood, soul EVERYTHING goes into the vlogs and when you have something - even little - to show for it, it feels amazing. And I invested it straight back into my video production for better quality. Anyway, you talk a lot of sense Ben. Keep blazing that trail for the rest of us 👌🎥

Now that you mentioned that for you it is 50/50 when it comes to photography and film, given a situation that you can capture something unique that won't last long, what do you prioritize? Hey! with respect to brands/companies I wanted to share a story with you. Your videos have inspired me over the past 2-3 years since I've watched them. Your photography, videography and travels have inspired me to much to travel and accomplish my own goals in terms of learning about photography and making small videos. I recently got a job through Mobilize Jobs here in Canada which allows me to travel and pursue my hobby of photography. I had no idea you were almost an ambassador for them until I came across their youtube channel and say tons of your and Steve's and Louis' videos. I'm really glad that Ben made that point about cutting down on meat (or beef specifically) - around a year or two ago I learned at university about how the meat industry is one of the worst industries in terms of destroying the environment, but I was so surprised to know that it was because of how much energy goes into feeding the animals that we eat. I had never considered becoming a vegetarian but after finding out how much of a difference it can make to our environment to cut down on meat consumption, I now have at least 5 out of 7 meat free days a week. There's a common misconception that people only turn vegetarian because of animal cruelty, but there's a much bigger picture. Cutting out meat doesn't have to be an all or nothing thing, it's so easy to ease yourself in and have one or two meat free dinners. I now feel happy with myself knowing that the majority of the time I'm doing the best I can to help our environment, whilst also knowing that I can treat myself to a steak or chicken without having to feel guilty. I think it's definitely something that more people should consider

    Love, love, love what you had to say about influencers working with brands! It's so interesting that in a world where brands are trying to appear more authentic in their storytelling, they don't let influencers have complete control over the way in which they communicate that brand to their audience.
    Knowing your demographic and how to speak to them is essential and I think bad influencer/brand collabs happen when the audience isn't taken into a high consideration.
    Stay golden!

    I love Polesden Lacey, such a great spot :) loved the chatty style vlog! I've seen Before the Flood as well and the bit on sustainable palm oil really struck me the most. Definitely going to be changing my consumer habits and only buy from companies which don't use palm oil or that get it from sustainable forms. I've also recently cut down my meat consumption massively. I don't label myself a vegetarian, but only have meat once a week, or sometimes not at all. I think what I took from the film was that without people changing their habits, the problem is only going to multiply and we have to protect our beautiful planet for generations to come so they can explore these places we take for granted! :)

    Loved this vlog! Yes everyone might not agree with your opinions but it is your vlog and what is important to you is what is going to reflect in your content. Glad you're putting these issues in the lime light for others to put on their radar as well.

    I'm transitioning to eating less meat/beef (I have a weakness for burgers), but when I buy meat I make a point to buy from local butchers rather than the grocery store. It is a. better quality, b. better for the animal, c. better for the environment, and d. doesn't even cost much more.

    Finally you're talking about substance. This I genuinely care about. Please do these 20 min vlogs once in a while where you just share your opinions about current events, life, etc. It personally makes me respect you a whole lot more. Not to say that I don't already, I love your vlogs and the work you do, mainly because I live vicariously through them (hah). At the moment I'm a very poor biology student with about 3 years left until I graduate and once I graduate I plan to travel as much as I can before starting my career/family. So I guess in a sense you've inspired me to travel, to appreciate other cultures, appreciate diverse ecology (LOVE your Africa vlogs), and appreciate the mundane tasks associated with day to day living. Thanks man.

    Great vlog on all accounts! A different vibe but just as relaxing and motivating. I'm in my first year of teaching having graduated last year and completely doubting my choice of career as it has taken over my life. Really reassuring to hear your mum's point of view on it... makes me feel better knowing that it's not just me! I don't think I'll be continuing with the job after this year but I will leave the job having the greatest respect for teachers.
