- The Highlander is receiving Toyota's XSE trim for the first time in 2021. This SUV has been designed and built specifically for owner's who want a little more performance out of their driving experience.. The outside of the Highlander XSE features a unique front fascia, grill, wheels, rear bumper and exhaust. On the inside you will get all of the great improvements that were made for this generation of the Highlander when it comes to technology and materials. Under the hood is the tried and true 3.5L V6 295HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE the BEST sport SUV to BUY?

This is a new Highlander not the old. As we know the redesigns by Toyota have been far from perfect with quality issues.

Recently got my wife the Super White with red leather interior. She loves it!
Pleasantly surprised with this one. Love the colour, as well. My granddaughter would fit in that back seat... lol, would shove my oldest there if he bugs me. Lack 9f connectivity would kill him lol. Great camera work as always, Lori... can't believe I missed this, last night

@Jas Johnson I got a steal of a deal from an audi dealership in Orlando Florida in a very wealthy neighborhood where they obviously priced this 2011 toyota sequoia platinum top trim, very wrong 105k miles mint interior and exterior looks brand new, I got it for 19 grand they priced it very wrong 😀
Finally they put a nice exhaust.Great investment.Highlander keeps getting updated. You can't go wrong buying this.

Toyota dependability is legend. At this price, I would say this is worth every penny, provided if I'd keep it for 200k miles, which it could handle easily.

Took an XSE for a test drive today. Caught myself saying "on throttle" 😂 (I watch way too many Raiti's Rides reviews) 😂😂😂 thanks for a great channel! Definitely helps me choose, but Joe, why dont we honk the horns?? I need a "MOVE out of my way! Theres a twinkie truck up ahead" manly honk. Whimpy horns are a deal breaker. 😁

I love the look of this new XSE model. At first I thought this was going to be a hybrid just like the XSE Rav4 since it is a XSE model and thought all XSE models were going to be hybrid. Later found out it was not a hybrid and wish It was or could at least get it in a hybrid. I currently have a 2020 Rav4 XSE which is a hybrid and really liking that a lot. I am glad they are changing this highlander up a little and making it look more flashy and sporty like. I am really surprised they have not made the Highlander into a TRD model yet because most all Toyota vehicles you can get in a TRD now even the Camery which really surprised me. Do you think they will ever make this into a TRD model. I did see on another video that said Toyota bought the rights to the word Grand and there are rumors and just rumors right now that they might be making a newer and bigger size highlander and calling it Grand Highlander. That might be rather interesting if they decided to make something like that but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I like the body of the SXE 2021 but I’m sticking with my 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum AWD 12.3 inch screen, Torque, panoramic sunroof and cool vented & heated seats is so plush!!!!!

These Car companies need to invest in a high quality keyfob.I had a chrysler pacifica rental while my car was getting fixed, the keyfob was 10/10. felt good, had a good weight to it. Pride of what they make shouldn't fall short on the fobs.

I love the new highlander as far as interior and exterior design. only drawback is the transmission. the highlander and sienna, you have to step on the throttle more than usual to get it going.

We should be able to get the Platinum interior option for the XSE. That would be amazing and I would buy it in a heartbeat
I hate how the XSE is based on the XLE bc you can't even upgrade to the 12in. infotainment display or even get the pano sunroof at least. As beautiful as it looks I wouldn't get it unless it was based on the Limited trim.
It really doesn't make sense.
My wife leased the 2018 Toyota Highlander, upon lease termination she decided to purchased the 2020 Subaru Ascent limited. I can tell you it's far superior in so many way over the Highlander.

@@TheMinnow101 yes 8 passenger taller, turbo all wheel drive. Way more safety features than Toyota Highlander. I don't sell cars my wife upgraded from the Highlander.

- rear wiper isn't hidden
- rear exhaust tips are only on one side
- hood requires a prop stick
- no vented seats
- remote isn't futuristic enough
- no aluminum pedals

I think I prefer the styling on the 2019 Highlander SE. In my opinion, I think it's a little more aggressive looking.

I don't believe the larger infotainment screen on the Platinum spec is available on the XSE trim.
Most reliable and affordable trade off in history. And not many features that makes it look like an iPad on wheels. Thank you. Just a good infotainment touch screen with Apple Carplay and she's the one.

I bought mine just before Christmas. Traded my 2016 Q7. It was a slight bit of a step down. But not by much honestly. So wife has the most complaints. She was most disappointed with the backup features no trajectory, no backup radar. I think that was a comprise for the XSE front and rear ends. And she is unimpressed with the display layout and no on board navigation system.
I wanted the HUD and a more durable paint job. As the most visible single component of the whole suv I had hoped it could be more durable. And if you look closely it has many shortcomings and less attention to detail then on would expect. I have the Blue Print edition. I have received many compliments on the color and it honestly is a fantastic colour. Overall it is sporty enough to keep me happy. The third row is a major hit with the kids. And the wife liked it cost less with more space then the 4-RUNNER.
As an owner I would say a very fair review.

I recently went over 20,000 miles on my 2021 Highlander XSE; after 18 months of ownership I have had no major issues. I am delighted with the performance with the V-6 and 8 speed transmission; I drove it on a 400 miile road trip back in the winter with no refueling stops. At 70-80 mph it averaged 30 mpg. I just heard that Toyota is planning to drop the V-6 for 2023 and replace it with a 2.4 L turbo 4. Why?

It's an improvement big time for the stand up entertainment center because when it's flat as part of the dash the sun blinds the screen.

I know the differences (Timing chain vs. belt, port and direct injection vs. only direct, No VCM vs. VCM). Thanks!
