Thank you for sharing. Ive got the same inverter but the smaller 1000w with place for solar input. Two questions please. Can you tell us the correct size PV panel to buy for this with description of wiring in etc and optimal or max length the PV panel should be inverter.
I have a Meccer 1kw trolley inverter. Have installed 2nd 100ah battery as per manual and a 330watt solar panel. Problem is the gel batteries are rubbish. Lithium replacement not compatible in my unit.Carbon graphite looks like the next best replacement
Iv got 1 very impressive but what im worried is, when there is NO loadshedding it cant kick to go back to electricity by its own im using it only except i have to switch it off but TV wont be ON without it. Which is frustrating me too much. And the other thing is since they install it when switch on kettle, stove, fridge and microwave when electricity is back it has the deam lights and sign on lights that is making lights lights very very very deam when switching it on and off. When lighting the geyser the tap in the kitchen is choking us very frustrating. When report were i bought it they say i have done something wrong which is i dont NO nothing about electrity cant risk myself to do anything. Were can i get help? Very frustrating and worrying me but i really like than generator making noise?
Has a 2kw 24V inverter with 2x200AH Gel batteries.Parameter settings provides for inv.charging volt.setting i.e.54.8 - 58.0.Will the inv.be able to charge LifePo drop in batts.?
I have an RCT Megapower T2000s, it looks identitical to the Mecer. I would like to know is it relatively easy to connect solar panels? Do you perhaps have a tutorial on how to do this?
Wish they would reply, Ive got the smaller RCT which is identical. All made by Mustec and branded to Kool, RCT, Mercer etc...but are identical from what I can gather.
Hi @alternatesolutions2408 I have the Kool Energy 1,5Kw Unit and was interested in getting solar panels. Can you recommend size and type, also where can I purchase these and how do I install?
Hi there. Very nice video and thanks for sharing. I have the 1.5kw kool energy unit and am very happy and think i might get another. I want to connect the solar panels. MPPT says 800w. If I connect two 450w panels will MPPT regulator handle it and only draw what is needed or do I have to install smaller panels. Do I connect panels in parallel or series, TIA 😊
Good day I'm trying to buy the right unit but I can't seem to get it through my head on how much I would need also there is not much videos of these units to help how can I get more help?
I would recommend not buying one unless you are willing to dish out money yearly to replace the batteries. I had mine (1kW with the 2 x 105Ah batteries) for just over a year now. The batteries are dead. Considering the amount of load shedding we had I am not surprised yet I was very attentive with not running the batteries beyond 50%. I would switch off the system completely when it reaches the 50% point. I have my office equipment connected to it only. This is a router and a PC with two screens, maximum I noticed was 30% usage which is roughly 300 watts. It used to run the components for a 2 hour load shedding period yet now it won't even make 30min before switching off completely. Worst is, you can't replace the lead acid batteries with lithium batteries which would have made it a viable option. Having to replace the batteries every year, it is far cheaper in the long run to check out something similar with lithium batteries.
Hi I was taken by another Mecer trolley same as this one but its not Kool, was wondering if they're just the same but differ in package? It is Mecer 1Kw 12V 1x100A Bat Pure Sine Wave (SOL-I-BB-M1)
Hi there. I bought a Mercer 1kw 12v pure sine wave about 6 months ago, and already it doesn't last the full 4 hours of Loadshedding. We only have a TV and wifi plugged in. Some questions... 1. Should I have left it plugged in and switched on when there is no loadshedding? 2. Can I replace the batteries? 3. I came home once to it beeping because I hadnt topped up my electricity meter, so it was dead. Do you think this damaged the unto beyond repair?
The type of battery in this unit I.e. gel deep cycle, only lasts for 150 to 200 cycles (recharges) and more importantly should never be used beyond 50% of it's capacity as doing so damages the battery, especially if you operate the battery until its completely drained. That's why batteries like this are Substantially cheaper than a lithium ion which can handle from 1500 cycles (recharges) or more. Yes you can replace the battery. But expect the next deep cycle battery to do same unless it's properly maintained.
I've just bought a similar unit, the Mecer M-1000W and I have a question... I was under the impression that the bypass would mean that I could draw more than 1kw of power when the mains is connected and on. This doesn't seem to be the case though, as the unit starts beeping and displays the "overload" warning when I do so, even though I'm not drawing power from the battery. Is there a way around this?
Hi. I have the 1000 w kool energy connected to one 250w solar panel. The green solar light shows up during the day. But I don't see any indication on the display that it is coming from the solar panel. I do have the eskom black "kettle plug" cable disconnected. Could that be the reason the solar panel is not charging the battery.
@@alternatesolutions2408 thanks for responding to my comment. The 1kw inverter does not have a solar panel display. The instructions manual does not explain much and the English is not clear.. So not sure if the panel or the eskom is supplying the load or to charge the battery. During power outrage or loss shedding and when the allowable load runs on the inverter it indicates three bars remaining. How can I get hold of you sir. Thanks
@@rathernot6660 i have the same concern with the smaller unit, no idea if my solar panel is actually doing anything, have you had some luck in figuring this out? thanks in advance.
@alternate solutions Are you able to advise if the solar panel is charging the battery as the display does not have a solar panel to reflect this and also does not have the up and down arrow buttons
I have bought a Mecer 1kVA 1kW 25.6V 50Ah Lithium Battery Mobile Trolley Inverter for my mother & looks similar to this. Only issue had for two days of charging & staying at 62% charge & not used it yet. How long dies it take to charge to 100%
Good question. In theory if it’s the same size it will be able to take a drop in. However, there are no parameters that can be set on the inverter to make changes to the charge state of the battery which is generally recommend on the lithium batteries. I do have a 1.5kva inverter which we fit with a Lithium battery that has settings that can be changed but the end outcome isn’t as smart looking at this integrated unit.
Hi, ive setup a bypass for mine, can you please show instructions on how to mute it because when the electricity is back and u use over 100% power it starts beeping even though its charging my unit is the same as this one but is called the RCT -T2000s (everything looks the same) please and thank you, help would be very appreciated
On the smaller one I notice that the light never stops flashing even when fully charged. You can assume once the battery bars stops fluctuating on the screen that it is fully charged.
Hi, how do I charge this system?, the manual makes no mention of charging, no mention of how to see when the battery is low or fully charged. The manual is full of technical data and difficult to understand if not into electricity.
The manuals are difficult and the reason why I make these videos. There isn't much into charging - simply plug the old fashioned kettle cord into the AC outlet and leave it plugged in.
800 W MPPT Charger, I have run two 400W panels in series. Max. PV Voltage (VDC): ≤ 150V. Charge Voltage (VDC): 35V-150V. Rated Charge Current (A): 30A MPPT. Max Power (Wp): 800Wp.
Currently, we do email and over the phone orders. The demand is too high and stock is too scarce to manage a full time online store. Power outages are also temperamental and we do not like to sit with excess stock - so we keep just enough at a time to manage demand then order on demand directly from supplier. It cannot as there are no parameter adjustment for charging

Adjust your TV brightness or energy saving option on. Mine lasts 4 hours, only after adjusting brightness.

It will beep but still allow the load its just warning that it is on overload if the power were to go off it will trip on inverter mode
@@alternatesolutions2408 ah ok, thanks for letting me know!

Does the LCD on the smaller 1kw units also display the same info regarding PV etc ?
The 1000w units show a little less and do not have the scroll through buttons to change the display to different parameters.
