Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Picture.
Clint Eastwood for best picture & director. Gene Hackman for Best Supporting actor
This movie is even better if you see the 25 years of great Westerns he made before it. This isn't early Eastwood. In terms of Westerns, it's the end of the trail. It reevaluates everything that classic Westerns took as a given.
anti-Western Western... and anti-Eastwood Eastwood's movie....
As Blood Meridian did for Western novels
It's adorable and makes me feel so old to hear this referred to as "early Eastwood." Eastwood is just realllly old; Unforgiven was I think his last western in a long line, and a sort of deconstruction of his true early westerns, like Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, High Plains Drifter, Pale Rider, etc.
Any movie with Clint Eastwood in it has to be a hit! He is iconic. This is a fun movie with razor edge to it. It is well worth the money. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Obviously you've never seen Bronco Billy. 🤣
@@TTM9691Ouch. 😉
What made this movie different than almost every other western ever made is that there was no clear cut good guy or bad guy in this movie.
Rarely in life is there a good or a bad guy. It’s really all perspective.
The deputies didn't have terrible aim per se. They were all "rattled" because they realized who Will really was and Will was shooting back, just like how Little Bill explained to the Duck's biographer how it ain't so easy to just kill a man.
Exactly! LB’s speech to Beauchamp come to life. All those deputies were terrified and couldn’t squeeze off accurate careful rounds.
Another great first time watch from you! This is definitely one of Clint’s greatest movies in his career
So sorry about the low volume & weird editing, copyright kept blocking the video so I had to change a lot😭🤦🏽♀️
i thought the editing was really good. the movie audio is the most important thing to guide the viewer, imo.
Yeah I noticed the white screen but I knew it was a copyright issue. I’m not a fan of UA-cam sometimes.
It was fine. We appreciate the effort you put into it. 🤗
Idk if you saw Tombstone but, that is a really good western too. This is another great film.

Django Unchained
Yes I have a reaction to it on my channel😁
Yes, I really enjoyed your reaction. I'd love to suggest an even earlier Western with Clint directed by Clint called THE OUTLAW JOSIE WALES. (1976).
Glad u enjoyed! & ok I’ll add it to the list😊
Josey Wales is so good!
Bob didn't take the gun because he believed it wasn't loaded which is why he had that reaction when Little Bill unloaded it
0:31 "So, this is very early Clint Eastwood."
now _that's_ funny. 😆
Dude's been old as since I was born, I'm not even young 😂
I felt really old when she said that!
7:35-Good point-A pure breed horse back then was worth as much as a new car now! 18:04--Didn't think Bob or poor Ned deserved that from Little Bill-Will gave him just desserts...reminded me of how mean of a cuss Hackman could be on-cam. When it's all said and done, no one can say they did a better western than Clint Eastwood...The man with no name, The Outlaw Josey Wales , Pale Rider and this AFI top 100 award-winner., The man just put magic in 'em.I knew you'd love this film, Marie!
I just watched Unforgiven and it was pretty good. I adore Clint Eastwood and I enjoyed watching his western like Josey Wales and Pale Rider. He might be my favorite western hero.
35:25 "that made me tear up a little bit. that was sweet."
journey marie is a romantic. 🥰
Unforgiven👍
One of my favorite movies.
Great reaction like always Journey👍
Thanks!😁
im happy u reacted 2 this movie. best western ever!
I usually prefer old westerns, much older than this one, but when people like Clint Eastwood are in it, it's kind of a seal of approval and you won't be disappointed.
Given your good taste in choosing movies that you've seen before your time as a reactor (cue: A Bronx Tale, Scream), I hardly dare to ask, but have you seen "Over the Top" (1987)? If not, then consider this movie recommended ;-)
I have not, will definitely add it to the list😁👍🏻
haha the eye rolls. she pretty also packed in the brains/soul department
Great reaction journey keep going
Thank you! Will do!
Lol "early Clint Eastwood" in the 90's hard to realize just how long he's been around
52:20 yeah Beauchamp will be writing about William Muny the Angel of Death.
Such a great movie. Glad you enjoyed it :)
No one can enjoy this movie, like those of us who grew up watching his Westerns, and finally arriving to this magnum opus. I remember sitting in the cinema, and watching the final scene, where all the Western bad asses he ever played, culminated into the wrath of William Munny. They had to honor him with an Academy Award. If you don't watch that journey from the beginning, you're missing out. This is like someone's first Jackie Chan movie, being The Foreigner. Cool flick, but I got ya beat, because I saw The Big Brawl in the drive in, back in 1980, and have been watching him ever since. I witnessed the evolution of Jackie, from Enter The Dragon to the Foreigner. I watched Rawhide, because it was in syndication, and back in the 70s, you could still catch his spaghetti Westerns on the silver screen. I remember talking in class about films like The Outlaw Josey Wales and Pale Rider. There's so much William Munny in those characters, and it was like an epiphany to see that final shootout in Unforgiven. It was like, "Well, there's the final boss. He'll never make another Western." I do believe that if young people today watch those Westerns in order, they can grab some of that feeling us older fans had, when we watched Unforgiven at the movies.
Just a lil trivia 🥰 This movie won an Academy Award for Best Picture & Best Film Editing; Clint Eastwood won Best Director & was nominated Best Actor but lost to Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman(you should probably react to that🥰)
This is NOT "early on", Clint made his name and became a big star in westerns about 30 years before this.
"We all got it coming."
Clint Eastwood & Morgan Freeman, you know it's gonna be gold. With them being good friends, I imagine Morgan trolling Clint with the "so you use your right hand" comment. Only for Clint to give off a wry grin "you know I'm keeping that in the final." Great reaction. Other than Josey Wales, Pale Rider is another Clint directed movie to check out. For a non-tough guy movie, "Play Misty for Me" is a departure. (Not sure how it would rate in numbers on a reaction, though.)
Great movie. 310 to Yuma was also a decent newer western.
Good reaction.. this is one of my favorites
This movie is good love the video Marie stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
Wish we could of watched more of the movie with you, blocked out mostly. Glad you liked it.
Another great Clint Eastwood western is High Plains Drifter, which is unlike any other western that you will ever see.
Love the sweatshirt. One of the greatest ever westerns.
Great reaction as usual Journey Marie per usual.
The very first Clint Eastwood movie I watched was The Outlaw Joesy Wells. After that I like all of his movies.
If you like to see more Eastwood movies, there are two I would recommend. First is Dirty Harry. He plays a San Francisco police detective. It has an iconic scene which you might recognize the lines. The other is a musical: Paint Your Wagon. It's set in the old west when the gold rush was on. Eastwood does sing and there is also romance. There's gambling and a lot of funny scenes.
Unforgiven is such a great movie ❤
We all got it coming.
Good reaction 💯
29:50 “it’s kinda messed up that only the police officers can have guns….” Young lady you just made a superb argument for the 2nd Amendment 👍🏼🇺🇸
This movie feels like an ending to a career and a genre.
I would’ve suggested watching more westerns before this one, especially Clint Eastwood’s earlier westerns and the westerns he made in Italy in the 60s with Sergio Leone.
Check them out to see when he was in his prime, because this is basically the last ride in the genre that he made a major impact in.
Great reaction tho👍
This was a great movie. I love it... Didn't think you would be interested in a Western. But I'm glad you are
Absolutely! I have a reaction to tombstone on my channel also!
@@journeymariereacts I remember the Tombstone reaction but to do another Western movie reaction was what surprised me. Do you have as favorite genre?
Clint is a legend, go back and watch his old stuff👍
That was a fantastic reaction!!!! (Big surprise! lol) Got a great western for you: "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid" with Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Two guys that are easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean, lol. Also "One Eyed Jacks" starring (and directed by!) Marlon Brando, years before he did "The Godfather". (also easy on the eyes! lol). Anyways, nothing else to say other than yet again, it's a joy revisiting these movies with you!!! See you on the next one! :)
So glad you enjoyed it despite the technical difficulties😁& I’ll definitely add that to the list👍🏻
Eastwood also directed two great films from 2006 about the battle of Iwo Jima in WW2 that are worth seeing, "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Letters from Iwo Jima." He's not in them though. The first is from the American perspective and the second from the Japanese perspective. The second is better, imo.
Intelligent reaction, as always.
Thank you!!
React to Heartbreak Ridge. It’s a great Clint Eastwood movie.
Great review I enjoy Westerns especially the old black and white exhalent movie looking forward to more reviews
"Early Eastwood" Really?? He was a film star and TV actor for decades by the time Unforgiven was made.
Great Movie!!!
Here are some suggestions:
1.) The Untouchables (1987) *Classic*
A gangster movie from the perspective of policing of a gangster (Al Capone), a classic, and a good movie! ( Loosely based on the true stories of Prohibition Agent Elliot Ness and Gangster Al Capone)
2.) Glory (1989) *Classic* (Denzel Washington's first Oscar)
True Story about the Union's African American Regiment fighting in the Civil War.
3.) Cooley High (1975) *Classic*
One of the first Black "Hood" movies that inspired the rest (Boyz, Menace etc.)
4.) Car Wash (1976) *Classic*
The classic black comedy, that inspired the not so good reboot with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and Director DJ Pooh "The Wash(2001)"
This was more than a western.
Also, got to checkout the Western miniseries 1883. The written so well. Cast is great as well Stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, LaMonica Garrett, and Isabel May.
This isn't close to early Clint Eastwood. You have to go back another 30 years for that haha. The Good the Bad and the Ugly is a great example of his early westerns.
Injun is slang for Indian aka Native American.
audio ;evels low
I know, copyright issue, sorry about that
Very early Clint Eastwood? She thinks he started making films in his 60s? Oh, the young. Man, wait until she gets to Dirty Harry, or High Plains Drifter. Here's an early Clint Eastwood film, Francis in the Navy (1955).
Free ones?
hey journey marie i'm doing a compilation for the shootout scene at the end and if you still have your unedited footage i'd love to use it. 🤠
So sorry I do not😭🤦🏽♀️
@@journeymariereacts i hope you don't mind me asking. one day you might. you're great at this. 🏆
@YoureMrLebowski I was wondering if you were going to make that compilation. I love the one you did of Will and the kid talking after the kid shoots the cowboy. That’s my favorite scene, the kids acting, and Clint’s, are so good there. I will be on the lookout.
You should really watch some early Eastwood movies to compare. There are lots of westerns and a few Dirty Harry modern cop movies
Volume is less than half of your other videos. I have it all the way up and can just barely hear what you're saying.
Hey thanks for your videos they're great. I've got four suggestions that might interest you if you haven't already seen them:
The Revenant (2015) - a heavy but very well made film, beautiful cinematography
City of God (2002) - great movie if you don't mind subtitles (or if you understand Portuguese)
Blade Runner (1982) - classic sci-fi film
Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) - very light-hearted Studio Ghibli film, definitely worthwhile if you like animated movies
I was really looking forward to watching this reaction as this is one of the greatest westerns ever made. I don't know who does your editing but I felt like I was looking at your back wall the 1st 10 minutes so I cdnt continue watching. I'm a huge fan of your just not the editing. Sorry😢
I appreciate that, this one kept getting blocked so the editing took a hit. Hope u still stick around for future uploads!
I'm here for the reaction. It's nice to see a lot of the movie but it's not the most important thing to me.
Don't mean this negatively because Journey Marie looks young but she's wrong and needs to travel. She keeps speaking about flaws that exist throughout the world, but faulting only Americans . For example, Americans don't like to be criticized, nor any other people. Americans like to gamble, so do people from other nations. I've been to every continent except Antarctica and every thing she claims is an American issue exists elsewhere and sometimes it's more extreme.
3:53 "cause if he had a sense of humor..." 😆
Lol it’s true tho🤣
5:55 "hope that's not poop."
journey marie cares. 😇
😁🤣
9:33 “he’s a changed man.”
Ummmmm, not really 😅
I can't believe I just read all these comments, and not one person mentioned Million Dollar Baby, with Morgan Freeman And Clint Eastwood. I mean, it won almost every Oscar that year, and no one even mentioned it.
13:55 "it's uncivilized shooting anybody."
period.
💁🏼♀️👍🏻
Hate the white screen!!!
Same🤦🏽♀️
React to the Dirty Harry movies with Clint Eastwood! Those are classics!!!
13:42 James Garfield
Thanks!
Gotta watch “the exorcism” the mother of scary movies
Hey my Friend, react to Mystic River (2005) by Clint Eastwood. Great movie better than gran Torino
Oscar for Tim Robbins (shawshenk redemption)
Oscar for Sean Penn
Thanks 🎉
6:58 goosebumps ☺️
why do u have the movie blocked????????????????????????????????????????/
Did you fart on your fingers and then smell it lol 😆 wow
Lmao what?!
4:24 "sure you could." 😒
journey marie is dubious.
That white screen ain't it
Yea I know😭
