My parents and I stayed at this campground in the 1980s and 1990s when it was called Mt. LeConte Vista. A man and his family owned the campground. They lived at the back and up the hill in the house. After the man died his son took over but did not care for the campground as well. The campground was closed and abandoned in the early 2000s. Glad to see the place repaired and reopened.
I am really enjoying your videos about camping. My wife and I started camping in the seventies and camped until the spring of 2022. I lost her to health problems. We still had trips planned to the Smoky Mountain area. We really looked foward to your videos. Wish she could have seen your camping videos. Keep up the good work and cherish the time you have to spend together. Pat Mr T on the head for me. He is one of my favorites. A forever fan.
We. Like our marshmallows just toasted until lightly brown. We never let them catch on fire. Lol we also love to roast weiners on the fire and then put mustard on them with chopped onions on a hotdog bun.
First of all, Hello from Kingsport, Tennessee! This is the 3rd vlog I have seen. My cousin told me about your channel. As I said in a previous vlog, I love the calmness and relaxation vibe that your channel seems to have. Not loud and chaotic like some channels. Big T is so cute. Watching you camp makes me think of going camping with my parents when I was a kid. I enjoyed it. I tried camping with my husband as an adult. NO. He was not organized like my parents were. There is nothing like the mountains. Loved the scene of the early morning cloudy sky and rain soaked landscape. Love the van. I plan on watching that vlog next, where you first got it. It is fun to watch you campfire cook. Everything tastes better over a fire : ) Probably hotdogs and marshmallows would be No. 1. Can't go wrong with coffee, hot chocolate, tea or soup either. Look forward to the next one.
we loved it when my family stayed in the fall. Especially the kids. They loved the playground and the pool as well as the games available. And it was SO clean inside the bathrooms. Definitely a great place to stay!
If you like starburst, you should get a small pack and you roast them right to the point of where they poof up and then he let it cool a little bit. It’s crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. It was my Girl Scout troops, favorite when I was a leader.
My wife and I camped at CAMP LECONTE in the 90s. we setup camp and it rained for two days non stop. We went to see Forest Gump at the movie house right before you get into Gatlinburg on 321. We still had a great time as the rain never really let up. I went down with a friend on our Harleys the year before and pitched a tent there and went to Cades Cove. What a treat. The camp ground has a new owner and We're glad they saved it as it was going to fall by the way side. Thanks for the memories as I'm getting older and can't travel much but I can at least look to you guys and Bid -T for doing a great job filling us in on the great camping sites. Take care of that camper, lots of work if you don't stay with it. Bless you three. Tom & Annette from Cinci
My favorite place to camp is at Crowder's Mountain Campground in Crowders Mountain, NC. I like to roast marshmallows & eat hotdogs and potato chips when I camp out.
We LOVE Camp Leconte and the owners are GREAT people as well. My wife and I stay little over a week there in our camper each October to take in the enjoyment of the fall colors.
Enjoyed camping long ago. I notice you have 2 Pico chairs. I bought one for wife when we were down for Christmas parade ,easy to set up and carry. Keep videos coming
Hi Folks, thank you for what you do. I especially love Big T. We just lost our great buddy "Earl" on 10/4/2022. Loved him so much & miss him greatly...You folks appear to be the type of people that we need alot more of. All the best ! I will keep watching.. PS I also had skin basal cancer on my upper arm, it took 7 stiches to close and another 3 inside. All good. Stay well.
Mike n Karen, I love that Camp Ground, I love the Retro Campers you can rent. I love camping and always have. Hugs n Love you both and Big T. and Many Blessings
I drove past that place late August when the Jeep show was on now I know what it is like thanks for the inside info. As far as campfire food my wife is a Asian cook so we look forward to her Asian eats at night outside the RV.
Enjoyed your video. Love your van- it's really nice. Glad you are camping more and visiting different areas. I love hot chocolate with marshmallow and marshmallows over the fire. We also roast hotdogs over the fire with our grandsons along with making s'mores. We have a pop up camper and camp in state parks near us and mostly fish when we camp.😊
Fun video!! It’s great that you’re enjoying your new camper van! We love living so close to the Smokey’s…cuz we like y’all & big T…enjoy spending time in our “happy place”!!😁 We enjoy your adventures too! God bless! Dan & Cindee
Hey yall, I caught the part where u said the blackstone don't like the wind. I saw a neat hack to fix that problem. U go to Dollar Tree & in the kitchen utensils area, u find the metal chopper/scraper (grab about 4 of em) & u just hang them over the sides of the blackstone so it blocks the wind from going underneath to the flames. They r metal so they can handle the heat.
I'm with you , Karen , I don't like marshmallows .I do love camping and campfires, I grew up on camping and now my adult girls like it. I like your camper, It is so nice.We usually rent a cabin when we go camping.Take care , Be safe
What a beautiful, unique campground. We haven’t camped since 2010. Long time ago, so we hope to get back in the camping groove soon. We only have tents for now. But, those retro campers sure are inviting. We always cook breakfast when we do camp, marshmallows, baked beans. Hot dogs, burgers. Thank y’all so much for yet another great adventure. God bless.
Love the little retro Shastas! Our first trailer was a shasta when I was a kid. We enjoyed camping in the Shasta in the smokies. Always look forward to your camping videos!
My husband and I love to camp and love watching your videos. We have a pull behind with a retirement package layout. We are currently staying in a cabin in the Pittman Center area with our children and grandchildren. (Just down the road from Camp LeConte)
Grew up camping too in tents. That campground looked nice! Yummy 🌮. Hot Chocolate with marshmallows and a glass wine. Love our r-pod. We can unhook and go on mountain drives and visit places. Happy Camping....oh love Food City!
What a beautiful campground! Thank ya'll for allowing me to come along camping! Hot chocolate sounds good by the campfire! I like several marshmallows in my hot chocolate ! Yummy!

We just discovered your channel tonight, and we’re binging a little. You seem like lovely people. East Tennessee is a favorite destination for us. We’ve been RVing for 25+ years. We’re on our 5th, and hopefully last, RV to get us to and through retirement. We travel with an Airstream now. We typically stay at Up the Creek Camp in the Walden’s Creek area, though Townsend is appealing and we spend a bit of time there exploring on most of our trips. Always love toasted marshmallows when we camp, well-toasted, but not burnt. Like them in cocoa or latte. Enjoyed your content on the videos this evening! We subscribed. Thanks for sharing!
We are loving your camping adventures! Looking forward to more videos and y'all visiting other local campgrounds.Would love to see other options for camping at the campgrounds. Like inside the retro rental trailers, yerts, or cabin/ treehouses...looks like a lovely campground. Thank you for sharing.
Mike and Karen glad to see that you are enjoying life to the fullest you were saying some places to stay I would say stay anywhere where you are in the mountains would be good for me I don't believe you can go wrong guys take care and God bless
I like my marshmallows burnt crispy! You guys are living my dream life! When we retire hopefully sometime within the next 5 years, we hope to do like y’all are doing traveling around in your camper van, it looks like so much fun ! Love your videos, and hope to spot you around the Smokies sometime when we’re down there!
The last time my wife and I camped was in a tent when our kids were small many years ago...I would definitely enjoy camping a lot more in a camper like that with all the comforts of home! Loved Mike’s reaction to Karen announcing she had watched two Hallmark movies! I would have been out watching the stars too! We love your videos, and Big T!
We didn't stay at our mountain home last winter and I missed it. I think in 2021 Camp LeConte was open through the winter for the first time since we've moved to the area. Most used to close after T'giving or New Years until March. I'm surprised there is a market for RVers in the Smokies winter. I love your tubes! Keep up the good work.
I love your channel and I have been camping since I was in my teens and I'm now in my 40's and this campground is on my bucket list after seeing this. The tacos looked delicious.
Our favorite campground for many years, is Twin Lakes Campground near Pendleton SC, on Lake Hartwell. It’s beautiful but book months ahead! If y’all are ever down this way, check it out. Also Paris Mountain State Park, outside of Greenville SC!

I like my marshmallows both ways, in hot chocolate and if I roast them, they gotta be burnt😋. I think it would be nice hearing the rain on the rooftop, good sleeping weather.😴. We have driven by that place many times, never realized everything back there. Those retro campers are really cool!!!!the yurts looked interesting too.Looks like a good time👍🏻
Love camping starting with tents and then my parents bought a cabin where we used to tent. had a truck camper also.Moosehead Lake Maine, lily bay area and loved it no matter where we went. Love camping even though we do cabins now. My marshmallow has to be like yours burnt, but delicious!! Thanks for sharing your trip and love seeing all your videos!!
Camp LeConte is such a great campground. We stayed there in our pop up in 2017(?). We would book there every year but KOA Pigeon Forge works out better for us since we bring our little dogs. Great video guys. Thanks for taking us along.
I used to camp in the Smoky's with my family. Our favorite place was the Chimney's campground back in the 60's which is now a picnic area. Still go there for picnics. BTW, I like my marshmallows like Mike does, almost burnt. Happy New Year!
Another great camping video. Thanks for sharing. Already waiting on the next video. Hey, my man, Big T. He looks like he is having a fun and relaxing time too. Be safe and God bless.
Enjoyed your camping Le Conte....I like golden marshmallows and love s'mores. We camped when our boys were growing up. Now we rent a cabin in Pigeon Forge and ride our motorcycle thru the lovely mountains.
What a cute campground. Ok, you guys are really getting us wanting to go camping. Its even worse since we just go a different RV (videos coming soon). Sweet, never thought about putting a cast iron skillet 🍳 on the Blackstone. Our first big trip will be in May at Cades Cove

What a cute campground. Ok, you guys are really getting us wanting to go camping. Its even worse since we just go a different RV (videos coming soon). Sweet, never thought about putting a cast iron skillet 🍳 on the Blackstone. Our first big trip will be in May at Cades Cove
