Tried to Save a Baby Budgie | Egg Hatching in My Hand

- Abandoned baby Budgie and Hand feeding baby budgie. It is hard work and a process of hand-feeding baby budgies. I really don't recommend inexperienced owners! If there is no other way, like parens abandoned an egg or chick, you should hand feed to try to save little baby's life!

I'm afraid I shouldn't remove the shell 😥What do you think?
I don't know
Maybe
It's not a problem actually
I'm telling frm experience
You can do it it is good
This has happened to me with a few lovebirds
Being sooo tiny and babies, the only good temperature to live on, is their mum's one
I think s/he died because of a high or low temperature. Either of them could be
They are soooo sensitive when they are just born 🥺
Anyway, you did all you could and all you knew and you did it with all your good intention and heart
I never do this anymore. If mum doesn't feed a new born, I take him out and feed him, but leave him again in the nest with mum's heat
We always learn from the saddest experiences 🥺😭
Sending big hug from Spain 🍀
Alen if you feel sad we feel sad please don't. We love you so much as a budgie nation and are always there for you❤ Not all birds have a long lifespan, they die from sickness, depression, etc. So that being said its not ur fault ok? We know you did ur best so don't feel bad it was his fate..! Hope all the birds that have died have a nice life in the afterlife and i wish you a good day, take care ok?🕊🍁🌸 *if you need some time or any break take it, we understand!*
(Lets get Alen to 1 million subscribers guys, we can do this!!)
Thank you for support, wish you all the best
@@alenaxp same I have wished of you getting 1 million subscribers
Thank you for your comment. I did not realize they could die from depression. I had one over 40 years ago. We were very bonded. She liked pecking at my teeth. I went on a week vacation, with my landlady watching over her. She was dead when I came back. My landlady was unhappy. I was unhappy. Maybe if I had not gone on vacation. Who knows, but maybe she was just depressed.
@@glaucouswingedgull maybe if the landlady didn't take good care or gave him attention he became depressed and np!
@@glaucouswingedgull sorry for ur loss. May he/she rest in peace.
At least she could taste the food and felt some warmth. I think that she appreciated that somebody took care of her.
I’m crying!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
U did everything correct alen.....ur the best budgie owner......I also hv budgies.....n I loved my budgie a lot.....it was a male and he used to kiss me....I can never forget him....I think of him every single day......so now I still hv the female.....n I got one that looks like him and a white one......I cried a lot for my cutie budgie.
I still miss him.... nobody can ever take away his love .
It's not your fault, your the true kind person here helping a bird I appreciate ❤️
Kind Alen, it is not uncommon for new pairs to toss eggs on the floor, even after sitting on them. Do not worry! Please look at the A Chick Called Albert (ACCA) videos of Alwyn Wils. He is in the Netherlands and has rescued eggs for many years. You are both inspirational in your care of birds! I wish you all the best!
You are right Cynthia
ys acca a chick call albert is good at these thing he knows well
This is actually making me nervous....my budgie layed eggs for the first time and im just hoping she dosent toss them out of the nest....
@@hammadfarooqi1405 daaam!!! The same thing i thought!!!!
Allen AxP and a chick called Albert are both awesome!

I’m so glad you help this guy
The baby didn't have a chance sadly. The yolk hadn't been absorbed.
I have done many egg rescues over the years and have seen this a couple of times. It's gut wrenching. But at least you gave the chicken time outside of the 3gg and let it experience love.
Omg :( I wish I hadn’t seen this video :( 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 this is absolutely devastating!!!!!!! I’m glad u both try to rescue these kind of eggs. What is this called? Yolk not being absorbed? Omg it really does look absolutely gut-wrenching :((((((((((((
Hi Alen, we as budgies family
will experience lots of great times with our friends budgies,
and also sadness, this is heartbreaking but also a vital part of the struggle to survive.
Sending love and a big hug
hope you have a great day.
The group needs you at your best. Blessings.
THANK YOU FOR SAVING THE BUGIE
Thats so sad, after the loss of Cookie, another budgie (I dont know its name) and the baby, you are a great youtuber and carer
I felt very sad! May its soul rest in peace. 💔💔
It's not dead man it's alive😊❤🎉
Those first couple days are the hardest because anything can go wrong even if you do everything right.
Caique owner here, my bird passed away after 1 month of adoption due to PDD at 4 months old. It’s so nice of you to care for lovely budgies!
Alen, you are so caring for your Birds! You did your best as always. Take care if yourself and be well. Your birds need you healthy too.
Many prayers for your loss. 🙏
😢you are a beautiful soul for trying so hard with this tiny, tiny little chick. Xx
You are full of kindness.
Alen do not worry this was happening to me but trust me you will have a great budgie in the future:)
So heartwarming to see you rescue this baby😭Thank you for this.
You deserve" Guinness book of world record" ❤️
Thank you for trying Alan it was a sad video but nature can not always turn out good. It was a very interesting video thanks again for sharing your love of budgies 🙏🏻
it's not your fault Alen. You did your best, and you tried very hard. It wasn't meant to be i guess. You are a good man for trying to help him. You did well.
you did the best you could . i currently have week old budgies and i lost one :( it was the moms first time so she killed the oldest . she tried attacking the other 2 but i got them out in the middle of it. i feel like it's my fault. felt like i could've paid more attention , even tho it happened while i was asleep. i'm so sorry i understand .
Alen, you did the best you could. Sometimes these things are just out of our control no matter how hard you try.
I have had instances where one the parents discarded a newborn chick right out of the nest box.
It was a conventional nest box with a small entry hole, no possibility the chick fell out, it was discarded by one of the parents.
I found the chick cold and nearly lifeless at the bottom of the cage, I put it back in the nest box and the parents did successfully raise the chick (with 4 other siblings).
Was the chick defective genetically and the parents could sense this?, I'll never know.
The five we had in this clutch, it was hard to identify the discarded chick, I had no way to track its health in the long run.
Over 3 years and having 36 newborns I found they always do better when there's more than one chick.
I think they need the warm, and perhaps the life force from its siblings, as well as their parents.
They cluster together when they’re tiny, for warmth and assurance, (very scary seeing them all tangled in there nest box).
The parents feed them a very special mixture of predigested food and liquid containing seed, in there crop. Newborn may require this (birdie milk) till they can eat on their own. You can see the seeds in the baby's crop as they grow and get older.
If you wish to have them start a new family, put a nest box in there cage ahead of time (before she lays her eggs), giving the female time to explore it, ahead of time.
When she approves, She will find it a safe new private home to raise her little ones (this take time).
These precious little creatures we love, are so fragile, and to us sometimes quite a mystery and miracle. They bring us such joy and pleasure and unfortunately sometimes sadness. Don't feel bad, just rest assured you did the best you could. Don't beat yourself up with “I should have done this, or I should have done that” Like we say here in the US. and probably in your home “Hindsight is 20/20”
Keith Johnson
Keith Johnson, you have such caring and pure words. I totally agree with what you commented. We do our best. That's all we can do.
Blessings!
Thank you soooooooooooo much for your insight & wonderful encouragement, Keith! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@catsberry4858 you are very welcome, Keep up the good work. My two budgie boys, 🐤🐦Artie, Denny And myself, from the Northwoods of Wisconsin USA, We appreciate your great love and devotion.

Your birds are so beautiful!
that's so sad😢😢 I know how it feels one of my budgies died..
You are so compassionate buddy. I can understand your pain. You did great. 😍
I am sorry for your loss. This was extremely educational. I think she was injured because she to come out of shell because of the fall. I do hope you never lose a bird like again . 🤲
It's always heart breaking 💔 to lose a baby budgie. But you did your best Alan. Wishing you the best of luck next time.
P.S. Don't beat yourself up for losing him/her. We know how hard you tried to save this little one.
I also had eggs in the cage from my Bourke's parakeets. They were hatched on the sofar floor of the cage. 5 days before hatching days before they were abandoned. 2 were fertilized and entered the breeder. I had to help both of them out of the egg. the first had glued the little wing to the head. I was able to solve it with warm water and a cotton swab. The second was also stuck in the egg. On the third day, it stretched its legs straight back and lay on its stomach. After a few hours it wasn't any better and I put it in the quail egg well in the incubator. So it was forced to tuck its little legs under its belly and hold its back. 3 days and everything was fine. I fed them with a special parrot spoon and Nutribird 19. Today they are 4 weeks old and they are already flying. Yesterday I've put Leo, a quiet, elderly, hand-tamed Bugie with them to show them how to open seeds. He has raised chicks himself and does his job excellently. I think in a week or two they will be ready to feed and can be integrated into the swarm. Bird parents notice when something is wrong with the eggs. That's probably why she let them down.
I gave them the chance to live. Both would be disabled or not alive at all. if man had not intervened. Therefore, I generally advise against breeding unless you have in-depth knowledge of how to help with complications. I'm sure you don't lack experience and knowledge! The parents, the feed, the hygiene, the husbandry of the birds all determine the health of the chicks long before the first egg is laid. Even if, like you, everything is right, sometimes you just can't help anymore. I've also had sad cases where I had to watch helplessly and couldn't find an answer to the "why". It hurts, but you can't change it and you can be sure that you have done everything to prevent it. 😢
I'm so sorry, but Thank you VERY much for trying 💞That baby felt your love 🌈
Great Video as always! Keep it up! rest in peace birb
Very nice video I love ur videos my birds on breeding mood they start selecting nest so when they start mating any idea
So sad! You tried!!! BLESS YOU!!!
Thank you Alen, very interesting!
I thought he would survive. You did what you could, it was his destiny.
The Best thing what u do is that u all tried to that baby paraaket dont die(u tried all ur Best for him)❤️
You always do a wonderful job with your lovely birds, please don’t beat yourself up. When working with animals, (especially infants) death is always a constant and sometimes it’s inevitable. (As one who has had her share of wins and losses with new born baby goats, I know all too well how you feel.)
Well done👍
awwww that is heartbreaking, I hate when we cant save them. RIP little chick .
The Budgie mafia approves of these acts
I had 9 budgies hatch from my two pairs , for the first egg the mother completely abandoned it we tried to do the same thing (I’m a first time budgie owner by the way ) I think you did everything right here and the budgie could have had a problem from the start
You so cute, and make so much more Time and help what you can for the little Bugdie! Sorry my English is a little bit.I love your for so much for this Work.I have yourself three 🐦🐦🐦🥺💝🍀Your giv 💯👍👋❤️And Good Luck!🍀 Greetings from Germany.😢It's all good so.

God Bless and Love!!!
I LOVE BUDGIES..THERE REALLY CUTE...💙💙💙💙
Huge respect for you man 😭
I think you did the best you could, it was just too rough for the little budgie to go through that
Think of it like a premature baby... It sucks but they don't always survive. You did a good job. I'm sorry you lost the little bit.
Normally, you shouldn't remove the shell as it can be dangerous for the chick. But there is a few exceptions. The main one, if the chick is too weak to break the shell itself. That chick was too weak to break it's shell itself, but you helped it be freed from the shell. You have to be very careful when doing so, to not hurt the chick or break blood vessels, but you were also careful. I've had to do this before, and the chick lived for about a week - Due to being attacked by another budgie before I could get to it. Otherwise, it would've lived a long life. Sorry for the passing of your chick, I know how hard it is
Very kind of you
Awwww baby birdie!
How sweet 💘
An absolute amazing vid...One of my 9 budgies layed an egg for the first time but l'm pretty sure it looks like it's not fertilized..
Very sad but you did your best for the little one 🇬🇧 .
I went thru the same thing you gotta feed them EVERY 20 mins.. it's a lot you did well . She'll do better the next lay.
Nooo😔
I thought she was going to live
Why she died?
We know you did your best!
That poor Baby 😥
That's ok, you tried your best😉
Nice video
Good job 👍👍❤️
Safe it's life
I think the baby budgie wasn't strong enough yet and that's why "he" died. It's now a baby bird angel🐣🥰😘
Soo sorry☹️☹️☹️😭. Don't feel bad, you did everything you can do to keep that baby alive 🙂
I am a cold person having seen too many bad things ( Northern Ireland.... ) but I love birds 😁
Is beautiful
Omg Be careful host sir alen I'm afraid yo fulldown😮😯
Wonderful very interesting
Good job
Alen I've bred budgies in the past,I would suggest you ring a vet for advice, full marks for trying mate.
I can't save my budgie you can save your budgie
you can do this bro
this is amazing, look how fragile these are. i don't know if its good or not, but hoping that it will become good.
Wait o no didn't make it damn, this breaks my heart. Can u use food like that?
I was like don't read the comments, really felt bad when she passed away, my bird will be 2years on September 11 I reseased her baby by hand even put the egg in incubator I did everything my budgie is a 1st time mom I took the action because she killed one bird before but after a month of me doing the routine she got with it and help me maybe that's why 1st mom didn't know what to do with her baby
I don't know if it was the best thing to do. But I was worried about a chick that was a bit late hatching. I looked for movement by candling. And then I tried to listen for cheeps or something using a stethascope. It wasn't making any sound. I decided to carefully open the egg at the air pocket, candling to avoid any blood vessles. And when I could see the beak, the chick was clearly gasping. And it was turned weird in the egg. I don't think it could have gotten itself free enough to actually pip through the egg. It was weirdly sideways in the shell. And it was hard to help get the chicks head out of the egg. I helped the baby out over about a 2 hour time frame. And then I fed it a little bit. I tried my best to be careful to avoid bleeding. But I did have to stop a little bit.
When I examined it afterwards, I noticed that the chick didn't have near as much fat stores as normal where the yolk sack absorbs into the body. The chick is clearly weak at this point. And I'm not sure if it will survive. But I wanted to give it a chance.
You did noble job keep it up
I would've left its shell, transferred it to a warm place under a light and waited for a couple of days & maybe use sterilized tweezers to remove seeds rather than so much rubbing.
Poor bird, I'm so sorry!😔
I'm not an expert, at all, even if I have six of them and just now they are mating (I thought they would do it later, in the spring time); anyway, I heard that hand raising them is a very hard job, and you need to be very skilled, in order to succeed.
Again, I'm really sorry for your loss! 😕
I’m very sorry for your loss, its because you removed the shell that the baby budgie is dead because its vein are still attached to the egg. Just next time don’t remove the egg shell :D
I am not sure
Love from Bangladesh 💝💝
You tried your best to save it, so sorry for your loss. Never peel an egg shell before it dry enough, baby will break and come out by itself once it dried up and soak all the yolk through nerve. At this point returning egg to the mom is also bad idea, they think it ready to come out and try to peel it cause nerve damage. Best is just put it in the incubator as soon as possible before it get cold.
You did everything right from what I saw. This has happened to me before also. She looked good and I am surprised she passed. We do what we can, sometimes we don't get our preferred outcome. Keep doing what you do.xxx
E bellisimo❤
Minha calopsita rejeitou um ovo também. O filhote estava bem grande e não resistiu também
If the shell still has active blood vessels, DO NOT REMOVE IT. Only remove parts of the shell once you can be sure the vessels are dried.
I did had some budgies but after some years the female started to hurt the male one , she eventually died beacuse of a sickness , i did not know any bird vets in my city or any medicine that could help her , later the male one died from sickness too i can still hear then .
Heyyyy...my birds name is Angle too
The bird Box temperature was way too low it shouldve been aimed towards 35-36° C. You had 30° . You also should have checked the food temperature as it being too hot or too cold can kill the baby but if you did everything right and it still died then it probably was sick all along
I've watched this video several times, pay attention to the breathing, I think that was the problem from very beginning. There was nothing you could do. I feel your pain as I had a baby cockatiel, lived only 4 days
My breeding experience has been tragic the the female laid 2 clutches one with 7 eggs and one 5 she sat on them for the right amount of days and came of after a month and nothing they were fertile but nothing hatched
hi! I found a bird that was a little older than this and a problem I made was to give it too much water, if the formula is too watery it can get dioreah . the bird lived for 5 months and then sadly passed away, I don't think there's anything you could've really done though, the parents didn't help and you hadn't really done this before
Its really sad ❤️😭
I'm so sorry... It broke my heart 💔
