Thanks for the update. It is interesting to see the landrise is proceeding faster this time than the previous one. That is probably because the August eruption ended quickly and the previous one kept going longer so magma was leaking out of the reservoir. I am sure somebody is running a betting pool somewhere for the next eruption date. I am not the type to make money bets.
For those wondering where zone 2 is, it has already been gone for over 6 months. This is from IMO in March "Updated hazard assessment on March 7th 2024. The Meteorological Office has updated the hazard assessment map. The hazard level remains unchanged from the last map. One change has been made to the zoning; Zones 2 and 3 have been merged into one single zone. Given the development of the activity, there is no longer a reason to assess the risk in these areas separately. The new hazard assessment map took effect at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, March 7th. This hazard assessment is valid until March 12th, barring any changes to the situation."
With the magma rising much quicker under the Blue Lagoon, maybe it won't go sideways this time. I'm glad I'm not one of those many people who has a pension fund with that organisation.
The first graph is confusing because all the events start at zero. When the eruption happens, does the land rise evaporate? or should the various events actually be a continuing sequence of growths, higher and higher? In the chart of the region, which we've seen many times, why is there no "zone 2"?

I hope for my birthday in end of November :)
Thank you Rob. I Think maybe end of november.
Next eruption i believe at the end of December or mid January
no area 2?
I'm thinking that the next eruption will start in the middle of December.

It's not just when it will erupt? it's also where will it erupt??

I think it merged with zone 3 now
Every time an eruption occurs, the land goes back down as pressure is released.
@@Caprabone Kinda like when you have a blister and poke it to release the yucky stuff, then it seals up and grows again :-)

FYI: There are at least 40 volcanos erupting at all times. So what the bible writers are really saying is to always be prepared to meet your maker
