Will The Next Eruption Occur on MT. Fagradalsfjall Like The First 3 Eruptions?

- This stuffed information pack includes lots of new footage and thermal drone footage as well so enjoy the video. I had to make this little Krafla package as well because it's a location that I plan to cover well in future but the Grindavik events look strange now as for earthquakes so feel free to tell me what you think. It would be excellent if the next eruptions would take place by MT. Fagradalsfjall, but if this long chapter moves any closer to the city, into the Krísuvik system, it would be a major disaster, but we need to prepare for what might hit us. And finally, if I were to guess what volcano will take off next, other than those on the Reykjanes Peninsula, I would say Askja for sure, but I might change my mind if the earthquakes patterns changes of course.

Greetings from Iceland. Gylfi
I always look forward to your updates & videos Gylfi 😊
Yay, thank you!
Me too ❤
Me too. Always so informative!
Same 😊👍🌻
So do I!
fascinating footage and information gylfi
thanks for all the hard work
Much appreciated
A stunning final shot as you drive through the water ... beautiful.
Many thanks :)
TY Gylfi!! As always, plenty of imformation, plenty of stunning footage, plenty of humour 😁
Another informative and gorgeous video, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Get more intelligence from actual boots on the ground, as it was done in the days of old, and Gylfi always delivers with metadata to back it up. Scientist seems to have gotten lazy from doing actual fact finding field work, and it's sad to see that these days. TY Gylfi, stay safe and keep up the great work.
I went to Krafla & the crater, Viti when I was in Iceland last month. At least the weather was a lot better for you than it was when I was there.
Yes wow it's been a hard summer to work with as for filming, the coldest in decades...
Your summaries and speculations are always very interesting. I look forward to what sound like fascinating long-form videos. For this one, it was nice to listen to you for a whole 19 minutes! So many beautiful shots and panoramas.
Living in the Southern Hemisphere your long panning shots are very interesting. Both alien to my experience and curiously similar. The temperatures limit plant growth. Soil disruption takes years to heal. And the colours of yellow and red are so much like central Australia. Thank you for your work, skills and sharing.
Beautiful footage and such intensity in your commentary! You have an infectious passion for your subject. 😊
Outstanding work, and beautiful footage. You may not be a geologist by schooling, but surely gained knowledge that doesn't exist in current textbooks. I have a feeling your work will be taught to young people in the future. Well done!
Stunning scenery, Gylfi. So beautiful and peaceful.
Your video production is always beautiful and wonderful to watch!
Always beautiful footage. 👍👍
Great film G.
Many thanks :)
Well done Gylfi... You are an excellent speaker. Becareful in your travels. Thank you 🎥 @@JustIcelandic
Rosalega spennandi að fylgjast með fra Danaveldið. Bið mjög spenntur eftir næstu update - Takk fyrir alla upplýsingarnar og orkuna sem þú nennir að leggja i þessum vídeói. Takk takk takk🙏🏼
You had a Krapla burger. 🍔. 😂
Great photography, bro. Between the pictures and the text, this was one of the best videos I’ve seen.
Love your music videos, Gilfi!
Thanks a ton :)
Frábært myndband, takk fyrir. Sat á fundi fyrir íbúa í Vogum í gær. Mjög spennandi, sérstaklega sem var rætt í byrjun frá Veðurstofu Íslands.
Gylfi, you have s great talent for filming beauty in "badlands." It's a word that is used in the American west to describe desert areas made from sedentary rocks, where there is little growth, but shapes are exposed by wind and water erosion carves interesting shapes in the harder rock. I hope that someday you can come film it, but it sounds like you have your hands full.
I remember people climbing "Big Ram" to film the first eruption.
Stay safe out there in Hell.
I wouldn’t called Iceland hell ,it is magical volcanic land with brave people that live in it,to me it’s heaven,no crowds,no bs,just beautiful landscape ,Icelandic people had deal with fire and ice for centuries ,proud and gutsy people !
@@adelaferreira4575 I'm sorry, you misunderstood my joke, Hell is the name for a volcano Gylfi is studying. I don't know the Icelandic name for this place, but the English translation is Hell. I was making a pun.
Thank you for this update…
My pleasure
Beautiful scenery!
Enjoy :)
Yum yum! Thank you for all the detailed information, including all the little hooks of interest dangled before us. So wish that I could be doing that, thermal imaging etc. But... I'm a little old lady so I'm just reading, watching and learning and I thank you for your assistance in my endeavor! ;-)
Another beautiful video of your strange and wonderful landscapes. Interesting to hear your thoughts and plans, too. Thanks!
Would like to Watch surface water of Askia / Askja💯 Bet there might be variations🤷🏼♂️
In water temperature ?? With your thermal drone
It's very tricky, the road has closed and it's hard to get up there during winter, but if I get the chance to go up there this winter, I will of course use it...
@@JustIcelandic Oh!!! Just be safe buddy. This one have my attention… !
I can't wait to see all that you've been working on, Gylfi!
Thank you Gylfi for this informative video, and as always beautifully filmed.
Many thanks!
Wow, the views of the glacier are utterly beautiful!
I ❤ the patches of snow that dot the landscape 🥰 It makes the scenery, for me, sooo extra dramatic ! Such another great video Gylfi 🙏 ✨
Another great video. The Krafla system is impressive. Too bad we did not have drones 40 years ago. I assume someone took movies from airplanes or helicopters back then, but those are so much more expensive to operate so there is probably little coverage. You have the background footage almost everywhere now, so you are ready the next time one of these volcanic systems starts erupting!
What is the temperature differences between the red an blue color in the termal pictures?
It is wonderful to watch your videos after having been to these places. Awesome work!
Some great imagery in this video Gylfi :-)
Many thanks :)
Beautiful footage. I look forward to the musical🎵 Thank you🎵
OOfta,! That's quite the worrying revelation, Gylfi. That lake could produce quite the mess if it does blow. Thanks for bringing this to the wider public's attention.
Thank you ! Lots of information to digest, very interesting update as always .Safe travels !
Many thanks :)
Thanks Gylfi. I also saw the earthquakes at Fagradalsfjall. However the insar data also shared by Shawn Willsey still shows strong deformation under Svartsengi powerstation
Beautiful footage! We were this summer at Krysuvik ( in pooring rain) and at Krafla. Brings back great memories and gives a better insight in your vulcano island Iceland! Thank you so much.
Another amazing video, thank you for all the updates and the amazing footage! Side-note: something funny struck me while watching this. A lot of movies/shows are shot with Icelandic nature as a backdrop, to be a different world or planet. It must be funny to be Icelandic and watch and think " oh this otherworldly planet in this movie just looks like outside" 😄
Thank you, Gylfi. Safe and careful travels.
Many thanks :)
Thank you for beautiful videos and all the information. Love the thermal drone pictures. Interesting times ahead!
Yes! My energy level is rising! 30 min (at least) of Gylfis Iceland and I'm good to go! TY so much! 😁❤️
Thank you for your informative views on the different areas of Iceland. After the Litli Hrutur eruption, LivefromIceland had a camera looking across the valley with Keilir to the right. I was fascinated in watching the steam rising from cracks in the foreground. Now the camera has gone, so I can't see if it's still steaming. Now, there is a swarm of earthquakes in the vicinity. Perhaps next time you're there with your thermal drone, it might show something.
Sometimes I look at your panning landscape shots and videos and think that I am back in the early stages of life on earth, just rugged landscapes, no people, no industry, just mother nature, wonderful! Oddly enough it reminds me of the time I was trekkng through the Andes mountains in South America, less ´spikey´but still the same vibe
Jæja!! 😱 Flottar myndir samt ☺️
Takk Heiða ☺
Going to be honest, I don't think the Reykjanes eruptions will end the wat Krafla will. They're two different systems so they may end differently.
In my view, it would be advisable for Iceland to prepare a scenario of a ferry line between Keflavík and Reykjavík.
Your videography is breathtaking. Thank you. So many possibilities for where the next series of eruptions will occur. It seems that the more you look, the more active sites you see.
Can always rely on you for the best photographic documentation of current vulcanism; stunningly good capture and devolved of the financial manipulation and simpfesting motivation of others there.
Thank you again for the wonderful footage and the update. I'm one of those foreigners who take a daily look at the quake status and GPS data and I've seen the unrest. Would it be possible to show a map of the ancient caldera near Kleifarvatn? It is tempting to see old calderas in any lake with more or less circular boundaries, but in most cases that will be just imagination 😉.
Thank you again for all your videos, I absolutely love them. Could you tell us more about Katla that is quietly shaking away. Because as we know its way overdue.
Great update Gylfi, it's indeed something to worry about that the system is waking up again while they are building on top of it like nothing is happening. Sometimes people have to learn the hard way and learn nothing from what history tells us. But well , keep the good spirit up and it's great that you inform us and show these great video's. Thank you and be safe. Greatings :-)
Thks again for this very well documented vid and for the drone footages. Good job ❤
Wow - so much to think about, and such beautiful images of the landscapes.
Many thanks :)
You always have the best videos. Absolutely love them. ❤
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, Gylfi !! 🙏
Many thanks :)
Look forward to seeing more !! Thank You for another great video !!
Thanks for watching!
I would think that building modular homes that can be moved might be the a solution to building in lava flow areas.
Thank you, Gylfi! I always enjoy your videos. ❤
The one time you did NOT want a bright, sunny day....lol!
The new developments in Reykjavik on Krisavik flow paths are startling in the face of Grindavik's experience. I imagine people simply have no where to turn for housing supply and job availability. Seems like GOV is stuck in the neoliberal mindset of make money right now and damn the social cost.
Thanks, we have a serious problem with the mindset, and tonight's earthquakes were just by the place I spoke of in this update.
so interesting to see the past eruption locations. Only Iceland knows what will happen next.
THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE 👍🙏>>>💚
No problem 👍
great work and views!
Many thanks :)
What a fabulous film and commentary : gorgeous sweeping shots - the view of Mt Hekla with the light/definition positively supernatural!
Many thanks!
Ah, the city location again. I agree. Imagine an Icelandic version of Monopoly (board game) and half way through the game 20% of properties become worthless…
Be my luck that I would own part or all of that 20%. Thanks for the giggle
It's so beautiful!
Always welcome :)
Very informative and beautiful videos….as usual, Gylfi.
Thank you.
As usual, thanks for watching :)
What a great vidio Gylfi 🤗. I want to ask you, is it possible to swim in Lake Kleifarvatn? ❤️from 🇩🇰
Yes it is but it's cold, unless you find the hot springs but it's not recommended :)
Gylfi please could you tell me where i can find the source that says kleifarvatn is a sunken caldera roof thanks 😊
Hi Lavalady :) I need to do some digging for it, I know I still have it amongst many others :) and I actually need it for my self again, feel free to send me a reminder via email, find it channel info, and I will send the report since I'm not sure if I find the download link again.
Hi Gylfi, we have just got back from the Trolladyngja volcano, we spent a good few hours there flying the drone around. I am just going to put a short edit together of the current steam from the hotspot you mentioned, it was really hot when we were there. I'll send you a link when it's up.
Thanks, appreciated....
Hi Gylfi, I've just put my video up. ua-cam.com/video/lOLqJbelu9s/v-deo.htmlsi=Hz4aCN8ax02DGZ9N
♥️👍♥️
Beautiful documentary, thanks!
Unfortunately, building besides risky grounds happens all over the world. Same around Reykjavik. Politicians don't want to see those risks and are only interested in their own prestige. 'Look what I created'. And few years later, they're replaced and nobody hears from them again. And their responsibility is also gone. So short sighted an stupid... History repeats. 🙈
Good evening Gylfi,
I’m still baffled by the beauty if Iceland (from above).
The earthquakes at Hekla could also be heated groundwater I heard.
Thanks for the info.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
Stay safe.
You're imagery and pictures is astonishingly beautiful. If it was not the end of the world, a collection of those would be some kind of coffee table book indeed.. Thank you for your informative and elegant presentation.
Four thousand bus appointed to watch. This is a most exciting time to be alive to be chosen in blessed. To be a witness to God's judgment and the coming of the Kingdom of god in a righteous, loving holy eternity without sin. Evil violence and demonic. HALLELUJAH! ✝️🙌🙏🕊❤️🎵⌛️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fascinating and beautiful as always.
Many thanks!
Thanks for sharing your ideas. By doing your own research with the equipment you use. It may surprise all the official experts and scientists if you turn out to be right. I hope for the best for all the people of Iceland.
All your videos are fun to look at
Many thanks
I wonder if some of the increases under these glaciers are the result of ice permanently melting, and the crust starting to uplift without the weight of the ice pushing it down. So not tectonic or volcanic, but structural earthquakes. Another idea for looking up information on the Lake - see if there are published studies on the chemical composition in the water. If someone thinks there's a caldera in there, they may have been testing the waters to see if it's becoming more likely for eruption.
Stunning views ❤
Enjoy :)
I'm looking forward to the various documentaries you mentioned.
I had to watch this video twice in order to appreciate it to the fullest, your artistry is there in every filming that you do,thanks to the natural beauty of your country, you may not be a geologist, but you are our eyes and foot on the ground where it all happens, you show us a lot more then the experts ,and we really appreciate your efforts and the quality of your work ,for all that thank you Gylfi ! Be safe on your travels .
greetings from🇨🇭
Always welcome :)
Another great report 🥵
Thanks again!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
👍👍
Welcome :)
.❤.
❤
Amazing to follow your video of Volcano updating. The Scaned photo with different colour is so beautiful like Painting as well. Thank you and Best Wishes from Stockholm - Sweden 😇 🌼🌼🌼🍁🍁🍁🌲🌲🌲
Thank you so much 😀 and greetings to Stockholm :)
You always have the most beautiful videos and pictures! It's a beautiful country, 😊❤
Thank you so much 😀
Only you could talk about a volcano being the tip of an iceberg.
Love your videos. Beautiful scenery as always.
Maybe one day!
Thank you Gylfi this is a really interesting video...I'll need to watch it again
Glad it worked for you :)
❤
Thank you for sharing your very informative and interesting video. 😊
My pleasure!
Thank you Gylfi for another great update and beautiful scenery from your drone footage
My pleasure
I knew it!
Great footage and great narration I enjoy your informative on the ground ideas thank you
Thank you kindly!
Interesting 👍😁🍀Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
🤩
Welcome :)
If you could safely fly the thermal at night the conflict with the heat of the sun on the ground would be over. Do you have a VR headset? They can be used with thermal drones, well drones in general. That would give you more flexibility with time also. Good to hear you, thanks for the video. Have a great weekend. ❤
Krafla last erupted in the 1700s and Lanzarote had eruptions around then. The 2021 Iceland volcanoe Nar ceased and almost immediately the La Palma volcano erupted. Coincidence?
yes
Yes that's a coincidence. Not a very good one either
