This sound has so much clarity. Really cool sounding amplifier. Would love to see some demos with an old school jcm 800 cab with some T75's or something like that to keep the speaker game fresh. Also GOOD LORD THAT SCHECTER SOUNDS INSANE.
100% they are too clear, fine grained and generic not a lot of character. I had the skill 30 based off this and it was so vanilla. I played the slo 30 in store and it kicked ass so when it comes to buying a really 100 watt version the slo would be my pick
Killer build quality. VERY expensive. Sounds great, but not any better to me than other high-end amps. To me the ENGL Fireball-100 sounds just as good if not better. But no doubt the Mezza has top-quality build. It's an amp you buy for life. And it will outlive YOU.
Great honest approach. Down to earth and real. This amp was made for soloing. I consider this amp to be one of the best in that Dept. Not really for the metal player IMO.

I am currently using the omega granophyre. It absolutely slays the mzero in every category. Mike Smith is a genius.

I love the nasty scragly highs on this thing. It really has that hair from a Marshall but the heft and power of a Soldano. Just awesome. I want one hahaha. Cheers
If Kyle says it is the best metal rock amp that means a lot. Kyle has reviewed more high gain amps than anyone I know of well maybe on par with Lasse and Reza and Ola England you guys have really opened my eyes to tone for metal and rock. Scored deal on a Mezzabarba MZero so will see how well it mixes with Uberschall. Wanted a Diezel and Mesa but none in stock and Wizard is 1k more and I hate waiting months for new gear.
Which do you prefer between the MZero and Uberschall? Can the MZero get as brutal as the Uber? Does the Uberschall have the same amount of clarity as the Mzero?
love the amp, but 4k for a head is way up there. That would equate to $5200 Aussie dollars, plus freight, plus 10% tax , would be over 6k . Crying here lol
@@paulvaden6990 The M0 just sounds better, I know that sounds really overly simplistic but that's what it comes down to. More depth, more clarity, more responsive. Just a bit enhanced overall. Unless you need MIDI and stuff the M0 is the way to go.

Hey Kyle, the Mezzabarba website says the Skill 30 has the same overdrive channel. Since you've played both, do you think they are similar, or is the M Zero better?
I actually compared over the weekend. VERY similar. The Skill 30 is a little thinner, with a tighter but smaller low end, and more rounded mids. You could pretty easily substitute one for the other.
COTLOD requires alternate picking Kyle!! Lol :).. The amp that duplicated Eric Peterson's tone for me on the legacy album was a 1980s Ampeg guitar tube head. Nothing since has ever come close.. Ampeg needs to start making guitar heads again man.. They were really great guitar heads in the 80s.. No overdrives or boosts needed on the front end. That amp ruled all!!!
I've got a lefty Omen Elite 6 FR with the Apocolypse pickups and the transparent bobbins and that red stain burl. Honestly disliked the pickups until i realized that they seem to really want to be down-tuned, I started to like 'em a lot once I tuned down to drop C. Hearing you play that E-1 in drop c and those pickups through the Mezzabarba reaffirms my initial dislike of those pickups for sure and i wont be bothering changing 'em out.

Very very different. EVH is much more compressed, low mid voiced, and saturated. MZero is very open and natural sounding but still gets some great saturation
I would say, it's not the greatest for really low tuned applications, BUT, with something like the Deadweald Duality DX or Electric Eye Mud Killer in front of it that can really fine tune the low end, you'd be just fine!

I honestly don't like it. It sounds weird. When you palm mute, the tonr reminds me of styrofoam, or like when you open up a Styrofoam cooler lid. (Which is an odd thing to compare a high gain too, but that's what it sounds like) I would take an Orange tiny terror or dark terror or those Peavy lunch boxes over that over priced thing. Those sound like actual metal
You must be hearing something different in the room than what I'm hearing in the uploaded video. There at least half a dozen other amps from your collection that would blow that thing out of the water for much less.

Do you like it better than a Soldano SLO that it is based on? Seems like SLO has better resale value. How about MZero vs Trinity? Seems like Trinity takes all the greatest parts of Mezzabarba and more features.
I may be wrong, but I think a lot of the difference between amps that I like (with upper mid aggression) and amps that I like that lack that “certain something” is what’s driving the power section. EL34 tubes. The SLO 100 utilizes 6L6 tubes and this I believe uses EL34’s. Now, there may be more to it with the preamp section, but it’s just funny that as my taste has changed in tone, I found my favorite amps use EL34’s.
Power tubes only play a small difference in most high gain amps. What you're hearing is just the voicing of the amps you like as a whole, being different than the 6L6 voiced amps. There is a difference, but it's pretty small in the grand scheme.

But I remember one time hearing Lee Jackson say that when an amp is designed, they will voice the preamp to optimize the response coming from the power section and which tubes they use. He said although he had a hand in designing switchable EL34 and 6L6 amps, he never saw the benefit in that because depending on the preamp design, it would invariably sound better using one type of tube or the other. It’s freakin’ amazing how much thought and electrical engineering goes into designing an amp. To me, it’s genius level stuff. But hey, I’m just a guitar player. What do I know? I have all I can do figuring out 6 strings let alone 7 or 8. 😂
It'd be cool if you did a single 57, then a fredman twin 57, and if you had a royer 121 with a 57 as well... just to hear what it sounds like to different mics. It's like you said about the Revv, it didn't capture the way it sounded live very well, probably because it needs a 121 to bring out realism, 57's can sound a bit flat/neutral if not eq'ed/compressed

5-10 great amps is more than enough for me. I just like to collect while I'm in a position to do it, but this current collection will be scaled back at some point

Sounds good but wondering how much of the tone is from that Splawn cab. Might be helpful to demo amp through several different cab/speaker types like Ola has been doing w his KHE switcher.
You could say that about every one of my videos. Close micing the speaker takes as much of the cab and room out of the equation as possible. You wouldn't hear that much difference between another v30 cab with the way it's being mic'd.

depends if you blend it with another amp like an Uberschall then you get best of both worlds.
I agree. It sounds thin and screechy to me. The high end seems too abrasive. Maybe it needs a compressor. Too much mid and highs

Nice explorer. Probably my all time favorite guitar when it comes to ergonomics and the tone you get from a nice big chunk of wood.

I recently tried the same Boss SD-1 boost with no gain just clean with my new MZero and it really helps tighten up the low end. Great amp love mine.

I’d would definitely take any Mezzabarba but if I was going to buy one I’d get the Trinity. It literally would do anything you would ever want.

Honestly, it sounds a little fuzzy/muddy even with an OD. Sounds a little better with lower tuning.

And that's why I do my best to flatten the pick. Pick attack, while cutting through the mix, also grates on my nerves.

It's all subjective. I prefer the slight bit of extra openness of the MZero but it's up to the end user to decide which one is "better"
