A few years ago, a buddy of mine got a Mezzabarba. I had no idea what the heck it was. I was like,"Mezzabarba.....is that like the Italian Mesa Boogie?" Lol. When I finally got to hear it, my cheeky remarks stopped: very awesome sounding amps!
Definitely a refreshing take on the SLO thing, and it doesn't skimp on the military grade build quality either. These things are immaculate under the chassis.
correction the new SLO-100 starting in 2021 got the DC Heaters with far less hum, these amps are remarkably silent. Also new FX Loop and line out. Price is similar $4000 for SLO-100 and $4200 for MZero. MZero has Marshally tones added and more features. Up to you what you want from the amp, SLO-100 I'll certainly have more clarity yet the MZero will have more top end and bottom end
These amps drip with typical Italian build quality. I've often thought of them as Marsholdanos. Thanks for your thourough reviews, keep up the great work.
Cool demo reminds me a lot of the Soldano SLO and Mesa Dual Rectifier but with Italian spice. I am starting to think that a used Dual Rectifier would be the best metal amp bargain now.
amp settings: lead gain: 8.5 (pulled), treble: 8, bass: 0-.5, mids: 2, lead drive: 8.5 (pulled), master: 4, presence: 7.5 (not pulled), amp EQ is in the V-shape to taste i guess...the MXR EQ is set as follows: the first and second 5 bands are set in a subtle reverse V...not boosting the volume or gain on the pedal...hope this helps, cheers!!!
they do have a clean boost and high gain boost- my favorite amp right now. Expensive but super awesome and great response. Probably god like solo metal amp of all time. It does nice metal chug rythm with boost pedal in front as well.
Sounds fucking amazing... but I say that about all your amp demos... meaning it's just your skills or you get to play the cream of the tube amp world... Actually prefer the drive channel to the overdrive. It's a touch tighter and more percussive and defined. Not that the overdrive channel sounded bad. Nice demo again Reza... always a good watch.
Excuse me Reza, but what is programmable exactly? Presets? Oooops, excuse me, i was talking about the Trinity,(Reading Mezzabarba web page while listening to your music), which is programmable apparently. Anyway, thanks again to make me dream during this difficult period. Cheers from France. Stay stafe.
Reza how is the Mzero different from the Diezel VH4 amp in terms of feel, response and sound? Would a Diezel VH4 be a good amp to complement the MZero and Bogner Uberschall or would you recommend another amp?
@@RezaMatix thanks and what would you get as a third amp for the Ubershall and MZero and why? I am experimenting with a Morley ABC switch to mix both amps but would like a third to blend.
Rezamix , another great comparison! I get excited when finding about amps I never had on the radar then head over to your channel to geek out. MZero Eric Steckel vs Wizard MTL , should you get one over the other if you already own a SLO-100 or just get both ?
@@RezaMatix interesting 🤔. This makes sense. As amps basically have different EQ's and can be managed if there is a Tone cut switch or EQ pedal to drive them into different camps. I will ponder on this, great advice .
@@RezaMatix oh wow that is the tone I really want! SO happy that I scored a killer deal on one today and will blend with the Uberschall that I just picked up.
69 like lol. Always awesome tone. Here to me sound like a Mesa Mark with all the treble it doesnt have. Like a Soldano say the people and i agree too. Weird, when you rolled off the presence i feel like some high i didnt want was gone. Anyway this amps feel like a full tone, full power and dynamic monster.
Ok you know what?i dont know now after hearing a second time. I hear and engl fireball like tone around 6:54. Im going crazy? Does this amp cover all those voices and yet have his own flavor on all of it? I knew Mezza barba was good, but this good? Damn...
How does this compare to the Trinity? In this demo, it sounds *way* more like the kind of sound I go for (especially that overdrive channel, boost off tone at the end) than your Trinity demo; is that just a matter of how it's dialed in, or is it really voiced differently?
People say the Trinity is more versatile / has more features but I think at a certain point, at least for me im a set and go kinda guy. When was the last time you used your #2.5 channel on your amp?
Kinda sounds like a Soldano. The added tweakability stuff is nice though. Makes me like it more than a Soldano (an amp I’ve always thought to be too much. Too much gain, too much treble, too much around the 100-200hz region).
@@GuitarsAndSynths how different is the Herbert mark 3 compared to the Herbert mark 2. I tried so hard to like the Herbert mk 2 but couldn’t. Loved the vh4 though

way better tone and quality. Marshall and Soldano are mass produced amps at high price. Mezza still hand made.

That's one hell of a brute amp
I like how the transformers are offset to eachother so the amp isnt super imbalanced. Heavy, sure...but imbalanced, doesnt look like a problem.

Great demo. A lot of gain to be had with these amps. Almost seems like there is a built in boost.

Sharp' Crunchy fkn heavyyy maan!
This amp was made for super sonic solos. That’s where this amp really shines. Not really for the metal player imo.
it would blend well with another high gain amp like a Bogner Uberschall however.
Amazing
got that undesirable crackle-ee sounding saturation

a SLO with an eq in the loop and a boost pedal can give you anything you want. you don't "need" anything else.
