Terra in tier E? Gotta disagree with you there. Remember, this guy managed to hold himself together and become the most powerful superboss in the entire series WITH NOTHING BUT HIS OWN DETERMINATION. If that doesn't say something about this guy, I don't know what does. Yeah, he's kind of stupid in BBS, but he's also extremely stubborn and POWERFUL in pretty much every other game he's in. Remember how he helped beat Terranort in KH3? He managed to defy the guy controlling him and smash said guy's face WHILE HE HIMSELF WAS TRAPPED IN HEARTLESS FORM. Through sheer willpower. This man deserves respect. He's gotta be A tier at the very least. I'd even go so far as to say he deserves an S rank.
Another thing, he gets too much hate for the whole “he killed Eraqus”. Dude was trying to kill Ven so that put him in a bad spot. Tries to convince him not too and Eraqus is like u can die too if u feel that way. Why is Eraqus hell bent on killing Ven instead of the bad guy? No idea. Like what is he supposed to do and PS Xehanort was the one who actually killed Eraqus.
I completely agree. The Terra hate is unnecessary. Yeah he's stupid in bbs, but dudes will and determination to save his friends and fix his mistakes says a lot. I blame more eraqus for all the xehanort bs.

Honestly her death could have been made more dramatic/impactful?, if she died Protecting Sora but I can't really trust Nomura with writing female characters now lol.
@Grace Chi At least Nomura gave us Aqua, Namine and Xion, I’d say the only arguably bad written female is Kairi (maybe Larxene but I think she’s just not involved enough in the story)

Aqua got shafted real hard in Kh3 same with Namine, considering she only appears at the ending in Kh3.
The Girls of Kh lack (except maybe Xion and Laexene, who is hated by some of the fandom) a lot of diverse personalities, they share the "I'm kind and sweet" personality.
I mean Larxene (excluding Xion for noW) was the only female Org member, Marluxia was supposed to be female but Tetsuya said because Larxene was female he'd change Marluxias gender to be male which is?????
Idk why but square really needs to up their game when it comes to writing female characters, their current ones are kinda falling flat.
In the case of the boys too I don't know why Japan is so obsessed with "brooding boys who go through so much angst in their life", the personality type is getting kinda old lol.

@Grace Chi I get what you mean, but the fact that KH 3 was bad and hurt the characters doesn’t make their portrayal from the previous games less relevant. We should not forget Aqua’s development through BBS and 0.2.
But overall yes, the writing for the characters in the Square games has been worse lately, I hope they’ll be able to do better for the next KH and Final Fantasy games

Always seen Terra as just the unluckiest guy. Every new world he encountered the villain 1st and treated them with respect because he never judged a book by its cover. He's always questioned why the tasks were so off..so he deserves better. He tried. Put him at B.

Goofy is the biggest Motherfucker in the whole series.
Every time the story gets intense, Goofy is the one, who is summerizing it and understanding it all as the first of the bunch.

Now keep in mind that I don’t necessarily HATE any of the characters throughout this series. I’m probably one of the only ones that like them all honestly lol. But this is just my list when it comes to which ones I like the most.

I don’t necessarily HATE characters either. But I really really don’t like how most of the protagonist seem to have almost no true personality.
For Terra, the reason why he will always be my favorite keyblade wielder is for one tiny, simple fact: He seems more human and relatable than the rest.
I don’t mean this like “oh the characters don’t have emotions.” I mean, that every protagonist so far seems to be this absolutely perfect people with no flaws and do every right and get rewarded for it. That’s why I was rooting to Master Xehanort because he seemed to be that character (at least in DDD until KH3 ruined it) that wanted balance between good and bad rather than just reverting back to that tired “oh I’m just a good guy who did bad things” trope.
Really what I’m trying to say is that KH has a severe lack of “morally grey characters” so it’s nice to have Terra who I would say is more “perfectly flawed” which is what real humans tend to be.

Don't understand the hate on Terra when, for example, even Aqua or Ventus could've been manipulated 'cause they didn't know how Master Xehanort was or his intentions at the beginning. In fact, the three of them got conditioned somehow, just look at where and how they ended up during and after BBS. He deserves respect, just like everyone, even if it's liked or not. I enjoy the game instead of worrying about this kind of things. He didn't do anything 100% bad/evil. He's been through so much, he never stopped fighting, he is very strong, not just physically (Lingering Will KH2 FM battle, 0.2 fight with Xehanort, LW's fight against Terranort and Guardian's moment in KH III...) and he wanted to return to set things right and protect his friends. I really liked to see him in action with the others in the last trailer of the ReMind DLC. Well, entertaining video, it's different from the usual ones!

@@wiltedrose7988 YEAH, IKR?! No one said he's perfect. Every character has flaws and the development of those flaws makes him/her interesting, imo. It's funny to see how people wants respect for his/her favorite character but they don't have it for others. That's why I focus myself on enjoying the game, 'cause the fandom is getting toxic and toxic, it's better like that :)

Xigbar is my personal favourite organization member. Even before the big identity plot twist a seeing the much larger role he plays in the story I still always liked him the most.

Where have we seen a character archetype like that before? Oh right. Literally every single protagonist in Kingdom Hearts. That’s why I think the villains are SO MUCH more interesting because they at least have something new and relatable to work with.
He gets a lot of hate, but it’s the writing 🤷🏻♂️. Honestly if you change some things he’s a good character with a tragic downfall.

Honestly, I've nevet felt any KH character in Kingdom hearts is lower than a D.... Pete is in the right place, but I don't really count any of the Disney villains.
If Sephiroth is the darkness in Cloud's heart in KH lore wouldn't that make Cloud a heart of pure light? If so why didn't their fight bring about the true kingdom hearts like the fight between Ventus and Vanitas did?

It was sort of different, sephiroth was the darkness in clouds hearts but not like he was removed from his heart, it was more like he had so much darkness inside him that it took a phisical form to haunt cloud
I don't think that's exactly how it works, and it was obvious Cloud was never pure light.

ReTune he needs to bring up different points to why he put some characters in different tiers. One part I liked about what he did was when he said Ansem wasn’t as good as he was before because he started getting repetitive instead of saying I didn’t like how Ansem possessed riku
ReTune Yes it does. There’s a difference between hating a villain because of what they’ve done and hating a villain because of how poorly they were portrayed. If you hate a villain because of what they’ve done, then they’re doing a great job at being a villain. That’s their purpose in a story.

Ralegade I feel like E Tier is still a bit harsh. Terra’s lingering will managed to become arguably the hardest boss in all of Kingdom Hearts and basically saved them from Terranort in KH3. He was also the target of Xehanort, who basically manipulated everyone in the entire series.

Zettaflare alone puts Donald in a tier of his own lol.
Mickey didn't rush to save Aqua because he had no time to rescue her after Kingdom Hearts on PS2. After the DtD was sealed he had to find and get Riku out of Castle Oblivion.
Once Riku lost his form trying to get Roxas he asked Mickey to look after Sora(which he does throughout Kingdom Hearts II hence Saved by the King which, while optional, further supports Mickey was always close by to make sure Sora was ok) then he had to jump into a Heartless war and piece together the whole issue with Organization XIII and introduced Sora to the mastermind -- Xehanort. Xemnas ended up putting more pressure on Mickey once he instigated the king knew what happened to Riku and as a result put Sora on his back after he promised Riku to not tell what happened.
After battling through The World That Never Was they had at least a day to rest before Re:Coded happened then they immediately jump into Dream Drop Distance. Sora and Riku were having a rigged test and things were dire, Mickey re-united with Xehanort after dealing with Maleficent and Pete threatening his wife's life but after all the drama Riku was dubbed Master. Right as Riku was made Master they left to find her. It wasn't 2 years, Sora was still 15 in Kingdom Hearts III -- Dream Drop Distance to Kingdom Hearts III all take place at least a few days after Kingdom Hearts II.
Aqua literary told him to go without her to save the worlds while she acts as the light to guide lost souls out of the RoD. Mickey honored her wishes and helped save millions of innocent lives in the process. Even if he tried saving her himself he probably wouldn't survive since he and Riku nearly died multiple times even with their upgrades.
Yet Mickey still smiles in dangerous situations
Is this a “Best characters tier list” or a “I don’t like this character even if he/she is objectively good as in writing, plot and reasons for his/her actions tier list”?

I mean yeah it’s his favorites. Not an actual tier list based on the characters. I mean a lot of these characters if not most are not very well written. That’s not to say there’s some pretty good ones here and there. Kingdom Hearts has never had characters that transcend how great one can be written, as has anything ever. I love Kingdom Hearts and I like these characters, but that doesn’t mean they’re written well. Example being the BBS trio. A lot of people like them, or even one or two of them, and BBS has the best pacing in any of the series, but I don’t think compared to other characters in this series do they have more under there belt. Aqua will tug on my heart strings every time I see her in the realm of darkness and losing her friends, but other than that what else does she bring with her? It has mostly to do with how BBS starts with showing how they are so similar to the Destiny trio. That part rides on other characters who have already been established and tugs at you to say, “Remember those friends?” It’s not that compelling. It’s fun to dissect these games you find stuff that you wouldn’t normally even think of :3 I could go on and on but this is already too long. It’s not something a lot of people get on a first play though.
@@adonissookoo5268 Ah yes. KH as a series has its hooks, but if it would be solely by their characters, it wouldn't last very long. If one has seen a lot of anime most of the emotional parts might feel flat cause one has seen it done better. Some are underdeveloped or thrown to the bus just when things were getting interesting (Roxas kinda fits this). I know part of it might be that Nomura is saving big twists to the future, but I think character should be able to stay afloat by their own merits, not just by their past or role in the plot. It keeps players invested to see what happens. The biggest problem is the lack of real human interacting (I don't consider mere "heart connection" the most compelling tie), which could give more into illusion that these are real characters. For series with "hearts" in it its characters need a bit more gusto.
Master of Master is step to right direction. We don't even see his face or know everything about his past but we don't need to because as character he has personality and charisma, he is interesting by his own right. While this might be kinda cruel to say, some chars stay afloat barely due their looks.

I always tell myself Axel is the Deadpool of Kingdom Hearts since he tends to break the 4th Wall and sometimes says what the player is thinking during a cutscene.
Roxas is S and thats all that matters

Mickey didn't purposely leave Aqua in the Dark Realm. He literally couldn't get there for years. Only after he gained a means to enter it, did he go there and look for Aqua. This was all explained in 0.2 and 3.
Also he has a kingdom to rule as well AND was dealing with a Heartless invasion of cosmic proportions, the shenanigans of Organization 13 and Maleficent and her Disney Villains cabal. Given he can't just abandon his kingly duties whenever he feels like, the universe being consumed by Heartless, the threat of the Nobodies and couldn't get into the Dark Realm, he had pretty good reasons for not getting to Aqua sooner.
Also he felt very badly about it all.
Also given how time works differently in the Dark Aqua, probably didn't experience an actual decade (relative to a real life Earth decade) pass while in there. Also she had Ansem the Wise for company for some of that time so yeah.

Honestly I would love to see this done with other topics related to kingdom hearts. Tier list for sora’s keyblades, all the worlds, heartless, nobodies, bosses (including secret), the games themselves, and honestly anything else you can think of.
That moment in kh3 when Terra fulfills his promise to set things right in birth by sleep by saving Aqua and Ven gave me chills
Ansem the Wise was a great counterpoint to Master Xehanort. Both fell into darkness while trying to save The World, but once they were defeated their choices diverged in ways that showcase why Xehanort is the villain and what he almost could have become. I would put Ansem one tier higher just for being a good narrative support for Xehanort and Xemnas.

Saïx/Isa deserves better than C. Imagine your life, with your best friend Lea, and all you ever want to do is sneak into Ansem the Wise’s castle. You then successfully sneak into said castle and discover a girl. You fall in love with said girl. One day, said girl is gone. Then you apprentice to Ansem to get her back. Next day, fellow apprentice Xehanort backstabs Ansem then backstabs you and you suddenly are stuck as a Nobody with no feelings and no friends and your girlfriend is STILL missing. Then your best friend, who is also now a Nobody, leaves you for some other Nobodies while you are STILL trying to get your girlfriend back ten years after previous events. Oh, you also actually thought your best friend was going to help you, but nooo. Instead he abandons both you and your shared girlfriend. You are then killed by your best friend’s best friend’s human form. You then come back as a human and you can finally feel emotion again. Then Xigbar and Xehanort turn around and say, “JK! Hope you enjoy being a Nobody again!” And turn you back into said Nobody. Then you are killed by your best friend, your best friend’s best friend, your best friend’s other best friend, and your best friend’s other other best friend. You get a happy ending after all of that, but look how much you had to go through! Also good job 358/2 Days, your Axel/Saïx side-story was very well written. Saïx deserves at least A, if not S.
Can someone explain why Dream Drop Distance Sora would be at F? Having just played it, I genuinely don’t understand why he’s in F tier.
DDD Sora is what made me start liking Sora. His speech against Xigbar literally made me cheer.

But killed him in the end cuz he had to use the power of waking to get her back. I don't hate Kairi but she is definitely not more important then ven

I actually like Jiminy the least. I hate how he does like nothing for the whole game and pops up at random times like he's relevant. I also hated how when he wrote a note to remember Namine, all he wrote was thanks Namine, instead of who Namine was and what she did exactly.
