    Moss Park Green and Goose Poupon are two that I attempted to send you that got returned. 🤣 I'm glad you finally got them to try from someone! I have all of these and my favorites are the Double Raspberry and Steeped Umber. Beautiful colors!

    Im new to your channel, and i know this is quite late, but it looks like her letter was written on the back of a japanese disaster preparedness checklist! So... in case you were curious Lol!

    I like the bigger circle swatches more but the smaller ones are still good. It was nice to see a grouping of no shimmer FWP inks as it seems like the majority of the releases have shimmer.

      Thanks for the feedback! Yes, it was fun to get a whole bunch of non-shimmer FWP inks. I’d seen so many shimmer inks featured in other places that I seriously forgot that they also had non-shimmering ones too. :)

    What a beautiful selection of inks from FWP! I love that they are all sheen and shimmer free. I have a few of these in sample form and haven’t tried any of them, but I think I’ll pull them out now and have some inky fun! 🧡😸🖋

    I have madam mulberry in a Fine VP this month and it’s very light.

    • @lianelikes
      @lianelikes  Рік тому

      I bet it is, especially in a fine VP. I currently have it in a wet writer, a med Kaweco sport, and I’m enjoying it a lot.

    I find some of the Ferris Wheel Press inks to be a little on the dry side, they do shade nicely and the shimmer is pretty well-behaved (it is very fine and disperses well in the mix when you shake the bottle.). Love the Steeped Umber, Madame Mulberry and Moss Park Green 💕

      Very good to know about the shimmer!

    12:10: Ferris Wheel Press, Mirror Mirror of Moraine reminds me of the Kaweco Paradise Blue, which I find almost hypnotic. I like it very much, as a sort of turquoise on the blue side, near cyan. Don't know if it is just the camera making it appear so, or if there is indeed a similarity.

    • @lianelikes
      @lianelikes  Рік тому +1

      Cyan is the right color to compare the ink to. I’ve yet to try paradise blue, I’m intrigued by the way you described it!

    Liane, watching your unpackaging of Baum-Kuching (love that store), I thought to share a tip. If you already know this …skip! This was picked up working with a paper conservator. She restored prints from Michelangelo, Toulouse-Latrec, etc. Blew my mind. Anyway, if you want to avoid more residue when removing sticky elements from paper packages do this. Lean in close and breath heavily with a wide open mouth, haaaaa, haaa, haaaa towards the part you are pulling. . SLOWLY pull the tape, sticker, price tag away allowing your warm moist breath to release the sticky part. Did you even want to know this? It’s just their stickers are lovely and re-purpose-able!

      No, I had no idea, thank you for sharing!!!! I will definitely do that and give it a go!!!

    Wow I love all of them! I would like to get a sample/bottle of Double Raspberry, I love those jewel tones. Oyster Hour is a bit surprising, seeing it in this swatch here I love it.

    I have Pink Eraser, which I really like! Not sure if it is my phone screen, but mine looks a bit more pink than red. I have steeped umber as well. I find FWP to be fairly dry so I put them in my wetter pens.

    I do find some FWP inks dry so I use it in a wetter nib. I did love Steeped Umber! Mirror Mirror of Moraine looks like Laban Poseidon!

    In my experience the Ferris Wheel Press inks tend to write very dry and are not lubricated. Dryer inks tend to shade more, or at least the shading is more apparent, and I would characterize the FWP inks I have tried as shading inks. Iroshizuku inks are generally quite wet flowing, and Sailor inks are often quite lubricated if you want to compare the different attributes.

    I always found my FWP inks to be very dry and they only work in my wet writing pens. I still enjoy the colors and the branding though. The Mirror mirror one is in my top 3 favorites.

    Steeped Umber, Oyster Hour and Madame Mulberry are lovely inks. I find FWP inks to be fairly well behaved, I appreciate that their shimmer inks are easy to clean out of my pens too since the shimmer particles are much finer than some others. Lovely video and swatches as always ❤

    I find Moss Park Green very light when you start writing with it. But it darkens as it dries. It's just very shocking the fist time I tried writing with it. I like Goose Poupon, it's very Olive Green.

    I personally like the bigger swatch more. The small swatches are only good to save space like you did here.
    Also while you were flipping through your notebook to look for inks that you’ve swatched recently, have you ever considered taping down the blank pages that you skipped? It might help you to flip through less pages.

    • @lianelikes
      @lianelikes  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yes, I do tape or glue the pages together, I just hadn’t taped together my most recent swatches, a good reminder to get to it!

    VERY DRY SUUUUUUUPER DRY, use them on F and M nibs if you want very fine lines. Broad or higher if you want bigger than a medium thickness

    Moss Park Green reminds me of Birmingham Pitted Nickel which is one of my favorite inks. Have you had the chance to try much by them?

    • @lianelikes

      I just tried them out BPC Barley and love it! I’ll have to look into pitted nickel, a fun name btw…

    I’ve been wanting to try Goose Poupon since it came out! And Oyster Hour is beautiful to me. Lorelei also sent me Mirror Mirror and Madame Mulberry. I miss the days when they named their colors after local places here (like Moss Park and Edwards Gardens) Even Goose Poupon I believe is a nod to our “friends” the geese here and the gifts they leave everywhere - it’s the exact color. Great for ink, not so great when you step in it. 🤮

      @lianelikes  Рік тому
