Old South Island NZFS culler here, retired on the Sunshine Coast. Enjoyed your video immensely. Bought back some good memories. Subscribed. Take care out there......
Hey mate cheers for the note! Much appreciated. It was a South Island NZFS chap who really kick started my passion for the deer stalking - his band is Jim Brown. Regards. Michael
Good stuff mate you deserved to get that stag -good effort you are 100% correct with the wellbeing thoughts and how we are so fortunate to have it I’m particularly pleased to hear your comments on identifying your target beyond all doubt The other thing is it may be a stag but you may not be the only one stalking in on it - I would feel safe sharing a hunting area with you hot barrels mate
Excellent Vid Mike ! Very informative with lots of great advice. A trip down south next year up in the high country is the go mate . Plenty of big stags down here with a bit of research involved.
Is the pup okay? When the Be Free Filter and bag go, the Hydrapak Flux soft bottle (more robust like the Seeker) and Hydrapak filter (more robust cap and design) work extremely well with the Twin Needle capsule bumbag!
Hey mate yeah she’s good as - dogs aren’t allowed in that area if Tongariro National Park unfortunately! Getting her tuned up for game bird season. I’m a Big fan of the Hydrapak gear (and twin needle)
Hey Michael. I actually got a Hunting Permit for my Vizsla out of Doc Taupo for Tongariro. It's a bit like the Kaimais a few extra boxes to tick but it is possible
National Park. It's not what you'd think reading all the sites. But I got the permit. Did'nt actually go. Doc Taupo is your best vet as Tongariro office is always busy/away My guy is a machine and is still awesome during the roar and will tuck in behind me when sneaking in on stags
Nice vid with great advice even for us older guys to refresh up on. Don't bush stalk much mainly farm land with grassy clearings. Used to spend every weekend in the bush as a teenager but prefer the open stuff now 😂. Keep up the great work
Thanks heaps mate - for sure - the bush bashing can get a bit tiresome but sometimes that’s where ya gotta go to get them aye! Appreciate the support 🙏
Hey brother - chur! Great to meet you man - we had a great weekend away! Shoot me a message on Instagram and with your postal addy and I’ll get a CAG sticker sorted for that drum kit 🔥
@@chaseandgather ripper! I don’t have instagram or FB unfortunately haha I’m old school, but I’ll get on there via a mates account and message you. Thanks again bro!
Awesome trek mate, great advise there on all aspects but most importantly safety! Cheers
Cheers mate
For sure - happy to share some of the learnings and definitely raising safety awareness 🫡

@@snoop2477 far out ok / is that for Tongariro National Park or the Tongariro Forest? The two will have different requirements I think?
